NHL 19 is a great new chapter in the already glorious history of the EA IP. It succeeds in reinvigorating the gameplay on the ice, but something more could have been done off the rink (gameplay modes, matchmaking).

Sword and Shield are not the best entries in the series but, despite some hard-to-ignore faults, they're still fun to play.

The Artful Escape is a powerful and aesthetically wonderful generational hymn, which sounds great and uses gameplay as a subtle way to give rhythm to a short, but intense, experience.

Tribute Games has lived up to its name, creating a true tribute to the Scott Pilgrim universe. Scott Pilgrim EX isn't lazily inspired by the past, but rather builds upon the comics, film, animated series, and the old videogame to create something new and distinctly unique. A beautiful, arcade-inspired beat-'em-up that will delight genre purists and it also boasts a modern approach that, especially on the first run, adds a touch of spice to the adventure, set in a Toronto full of secrets to uncover and gems to discover. Scott Pilgrim EX is a gift that keeps on giving for Scott Pilgrim fans, a must-have, and a game not to be underestimated by anyone else.

One hell of a compilation, with new challenges and lots of customization options. But Capcom should let us buy the games one by one also.

Infinity Nikki surprises with its vastness and style, offering a relaxing and beautiful open world with plenty to do. The grinding and currency system are the price to pay for a free game of this size, but they do not overshadow a unique free-to-play experience.

An interesting RPG, just like the original Dragon's Dogma. The new content and gameplay tweaks add to the experience, but the underlying faults of the game still stand. It's a beautiful idea and a very promising universe: we definitely look forward to a proper sequel.

After years of steady growth, Visual Concepts-branded wrestling is slowing down. The main new features of the 2025 season are not entirely convincing: the Showcase dedicated to the Bloodline stable does not involve as much as those dedicated to Cena and Mysterio. That's too bad, because Visual Concepts offers the largest roster ever and introduces numerous improvements to the main game modes, perfecting wrestling in the ring even more.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is frankly a weird game, one that's not so easy to crack: excessively built around an eventually underwhelming concept, you'll never truly hate it, but you won't either love as much as you'd like to.

What begins as a holiday – although going through dungeons to defeat monsters isn't exactly my idea of a relaxing vacation – turns into a fantastic adventure: Dungeons of Hinterberg accompanies its protagonist and the player through this transformation, which ends up being his biggest flaw. Until it leaves behind every vestige of normality to fill its dungeons with the most colorful puzzles, the game holds back so much that it gives the player a misleading first impression. But if you allow it to lead us by the hand for the first few more subdued hours, we finally arrive in a truly fantastic and imaginative place where very different ideas find space.

Under a cover of GTA free roam mechanics you can find a Wii U exclusive that tries its best to realize children’s dreams of a whole LEGO City to play with, guided by a lovely main story which slowly builds up all its hilarious parody lines and gameplay pieces. Some fits still need work, but the construction seems already quite solid.

Serial Cleaners is a decent sequel that inherits the strengths and weaknesses of the first chapter of the series, which does not innovate the stealth game genre even if it offers some interesting gameplay ideas and a rather convincing artistic style. However, its biggest flaw is an artificial intelligence that does not propose a sufficiently valid challenge.

I loved Indika, even if I have the impression that some practical limitations held back the creative ambitions of its developers. Nonetheless, it is a game rich in ideas, drawing on Russian art and literature while reworking some of their recurring themes from a modern perspective that works especially well in a video game.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink is a much less ambitious game than it seems, but its simplicity shouldn't necessarily be considered as a flaw. Cygames' latest work is fun and well polished, and it has an exciting combat system, great art and music. Unfortunately, the story falls short, and after reaching the endgame it devolves in a repetitive cycle of 80 or so hours of mindless fighting, without any real challenge or new ideas to keep things fresh.
