A step above its predecessor. Oozing with character and charm, the titular character of Styx helps to bring the game out of the shadows you’ll be crawling through for most of its run time. Repetition of its otherwise great environments and hammy voice acting from the other characters is somewhat disappointing but Styx is still a solid game.- ICXM

Dark Arcana: The Carnival offers a great experience overall. Perhaps more engaging for a younger audience, but still decent fun for all ages. A bit more creativity in names, voice acting and puzzle types would make this a truly stellar game, though it’s worth a creepy playthrough if only to follow the story and enjoy the sinister scenery. Dark Arcana: The Carnival proves hidden objects games can be deep and engaging.- ICXM

Verdun is a perfect example of why PC games cannot just be copied to console without care and thought. Poor graphics, server connection issues, and terrible controller remapping hold this game back from being successful on console. In addition to being needlessly inaccessible, Verdun spoils the potentially interesting content it has to offer with crashes, lag, and disconnections.- ICXM

For what it is, Pixel Heroes: Byte & Magic succeeds in accomplishing what it sets out to do. It’s an unapologetic retro game that looks to capture the nostalgia of an era in gaming long gone. But while it does succeed in doing that, it remains to be seen if many gamers will actually find that enjoyable.- ICXM

Kitty Powers' Matchmaker is a fun little mobile game centered around finding love for desperate hipsters that has managed to find itself on consoles. Like a child in an adult conversation, it feels out of place. The game is well designed and colorful, but it can't be given to kids due to the overarching innuendos splashed across the world. With that in mind, the game seems to be a strange entry on Xbox One, with this reviewer finding it hard to place and to justify it being on the console in the first place. As a mobile game I would recommend it instantly because playing it in small doses on the go is fun, but I think console gamers demand deeper experiences.- ICXM

Torment: Tides of Numenera is an infinitely complex game which no review can truly capture. The sheer number of side quests, characters, dialogue choices and endings require that the game be played multiple times. Brian Fargo and his team have created an absolutely stunning experience—I just wish it was as technically sound on Xbox One as it is on Windows 10.- ICXM

Shift Happens is a fun, easygoing puzzle game and feature great visuals even though the premise isn’t that original. The game is slightly derivative at times but offers tremendous co-op appeal.- ICXM

It doesn’t have the “oomph” it should and comes off as a bit lackluster. For all of the good elements in the game, there are several bad or annoying ones that come with it.- ICXM

Despite these issues, I absolutely loved forma.8. It is a perfect example of the kind of unique content indie developers can offer without sacrificing aesthetics or an immersive environment. There are a few small kinks in the game, but it is absolutely a must-have!- ICXM

Overall, Chime Sharp offers a refreshing new twist on a classic game. Some design flaws hold it back from being a truly excellent game and there are serious accessibility issues. However, excellent soundtrack choices and clever game modes make this game a worthwhile play!- ICXM

The only downside to these packs is the fact that they’re pretty expensive for what’s in them. You may only play the content and mini-games once or twice and they aren’t very lengthy. Some modes offer additional difficulty settings after you beat them but $15 for just the second add-on is pretty pricey. If any of this sounds appealing to you, you may want to wait for a sale or just buy the season pass which will include all future content.- ICXM

The game offers good replayability, pushing you to become the master of the universe on the online leaderboards and to team up with your friends to take on the biggest bosses in the hardest of modes.- ICXM

Obviously a significant problem from the start is improving the controls. The constantly-changing camera angle and sluggish movement would make it difficult for many gamers, regardless of disability. It’d be great to have more auditory cues in the soundtrack as well, to improve accessibility for gamers with vision loss. Although it might detract from the aim of creating a tense environment—which I’d argue isn’t present anyway—a map of the house that fills in as you explore would make the game instantly much more accessible.- ICXM

Renegade isn’t an innovative title. Not only does it keep itself very traditional to the past works of Vector Unit, but it also remains very traditional to the conventions of arcade racers. If you’re looking for a fun, solid racer for a couple of hours then Renegade is a decent choice. If you want something more then you’re out of luck.- ICXM

We Are The Dwarves is a different experience from what you’re probably expecting. Many people who are looking for a Diablo-like game will be disappointed because it’s more along the lines of The Banner Saga. The title takes awhile to acclimate to but it’s a rewarding game. If you’re in the market for a short but surprisingly intense experience, be sure to pick this one up.- ICXM

How to Survive 2 isn’t a bad game but it does feel uninspired. Following the same basic principles of the original as well as the majority of its gameplay structure, How to Survive 2 feels more like an expansion—or a large patch—than a new game.- ICXM

Ride 2 is a huge improvement over the original and is now comparable even to the genre’s titans. It excels in feeling great to drive on and offers enough variety to keep you entertained for hours on end. Sadly slow loading times, outdated graphics and overly simplistic AI really make this game feel archaic by the standard’s we’ve come to expect.- ICXM

Though Ubisoft could have easily played it safe by focusing on any of their existing franchises, in choosing to develop a new IP, they created an admirable fighting game with thrilling action. Its single-player campaign is satisfactory at best, but it works as a great training tool to familiarize yourself with the characters and controls. Where For Honor truly shines is in its savage battles and multiplayer, as rough as the servers may be.- ICXM

While some challenges are simple and involve exploring every corner of the surprisingly large maps, others like keeping certain units alive are much harder. Only those who truly understand Halo Wars 2 will be able to accomplish this. Not only does this enhance replayability aside from the fantastic multiplayer offerings, it also gives you a reason to go back to the campaign.- ICXM

Overall, TowerFall Ascension is a fantastic game which is easy to pick up and play. While I would’ve liked to see an online component, the couch co-op experience is still rewarding. Anyone looking for a competitive title to play with friends and get non-gamers hooked on should look no further.- ICXM

A remarkable achievement for Rebellion. It’s an expansive and detailed experience which pushes the stealth genre forward. The gameplay is exhilarating and in order to properly complete the game, you can easily spend around forty hours on it. The sheer number of collectibles and the stories they tell is incredible. The multiplayer mode is stellar and much more frantic than the campaign. In my opinion, Sniper Elite 4 is best played with a friend in co-op. That’s when the title truly shines.- ICXM
