"Mario Kart's" (at least the original one, anyway) biggest strength was its multiplayer mode and of course DKR does what Nintendo did but better.

As good as "Tomb Raider 1" was, 2 is twice as good!

A great effort, but when compared to games like Turok or Golden Eye, it falls short. With glaring problems in the multiplayer modes, it's hard to see Duke Nukem 64 being taken seriously as a contender in the 3D shooter category.

The game is on the short side and once you are well practiced it won't take much longer than 30 minutes to beat it. But believe this, this is one great party game, you'll be in stitches as people fumble their way through the rap when they first start. Parappa is a must have game.

The fully three dimensional landscapes are stunning, and animation is equally so - units move around the area with superlative realism, and weaponry is as full of life as a piece of machinery can be.

One can't go without mentioning the fantastic multiplayer mode. Unlike PC shooters, where ambush seems to be the name of the game, GoldenEye concentrates on fast, frantic fun. Everyone can see each other's screen, and radar is provided for additional assistance, so hiding is a virtual impossibility.

Every target is superbly animated and detailed - walker droids walk with consummate ease, meteors float around ominously, end of level bosses look as imposing as they're supposed to...it's all great.

The original premise, varied situations and fresh gameplay means that Blast Corps is like nothing you've experienced before. The biggest shame about Blast Corps is that it seems destined to be the most under-rated classic Nintendo 64 game.

It's one of those simple games that you know you'll be coming back to long after the latest racers have run out of gas.

Lara herself is well designed and animates superbly, whether it be while shooting a gun, traversing treacherous mountain ledges or swimming through violent rapids.

The constantly evolving waves and progressively harder CPU opponents mean that Wave Race 64 never stops from being challenging.

WO XL also has possibly the best soundtrack of any game, including contributions from Chemical Brothers, Underworld and Prodigy... A landmark racer and one of the all time classics on this console.

This game, like too many now, is just a clunker wrapped up with pretty graphics. It may satisfy all you gamers that absolutely despise the bright and cheery atmosphere of Myst, but lacks in gameplay. So don't worry about calling the Orkin man, this cockroach is just about dead.

The move to complete 3D freedom of movement and real-time environments adds a whole new dimension to the game, and finally makes it feel like it is a game rather than simply a series of static images and mental puzzles.

Once you get the hang of things, Wetrix can be an addictive and fun puzzler. Don't feel bad if you can't be bothered to dip your toe in, though - you won't be the only one.

A definite improvement over last year’s game, this version offers the best baseball on the Dreamcast, but "All Star Baseball" on the PS2 is still the tops.
