One can't go without mentioning the fantastic multiplayer mode. Unlike PC shooters, where ambush seems to be the name of the game, GoldenEye concentrates on fast, frantic fun. Everyone can see each other's screen, and radar is provided for additional assistance, so hiding is a virtual impossibility.
  2. Without a doubt, an experience like no other.

This is probably the best game you can get on the Nintendo 64.

We can say with a clear conscience that Goldeneye 007 is the best single-player first-person game on any system.
  5. Is Goldeneye 007 another great game by Rare, Is 007 the best first-person shooter on any next-generation system... my answer is HELL YEA!
  6. Fans of N64 and PC games used to compare Goldeneye to games such as "Half Life," which is remarkable because Goldeneye was not only older, but running on hardware that was vastly inferior to a $2500 PC.

Well animated characters and intuitive AI, realistic settings and interactive backgrounds sound effects are crisp along with music based on the movie. Ricocheting bullets, the clinky-clonky noise of footsteps just gives this first-person game that feeling of elegance and there is enough content even on 'Agent' difficulty to keep players occupied for a decent amount of time. Overall the game is executed marvelously both single player and multiplayer, it is by far one of the best shooters to grace the generation even to this day leaving players shaken and most definitely stirred. I played all the missions literally hundreds of times. It's that engrossing of a game. Though I wonder if the sequel can even compare.
