    Adventure and survival parts of The Alters were reduced to a minimum, so that the story, choices and interactions with alters could serve as the main course. Unfortunately this particular meal left me feeling hungry, but that is due to my personal preferences. If you want something new and fresh among games that make you manage a base with a little exploration, and a little survival, The Alters looks bold and original.

    Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon is not simply „Polish Skyrim”. It’s a well crafted RPG that surprises with great atmosphere, interesting story and the developers’ ingenuity when faced with limitations of the technical or budgetary nature.

    Elden Ring: Nightreign does not seek a widespread audience - and that's a really good thing. FromSoftware doesn't make compromises. Instead of doing “more of the same,” it has opted for a design that is completely new, system-dense and ruthlessly honest. Does it have flaws? Of course; excessively long boss fights can be frustrating. Still, Nightreign demands, but it also rewards. And it does so without half measures.

    I was a bit disappointed that abandoning the previous generation of consoles didn't bring the kind of generational leap in quality that many people were probably hoping for. Nevertheless, F1 25 is an improved version of F1 24 in every respect, with the improved driving model and path tracing on PC standing out in particular. We'll probably have to wait for the real revolution until F1 26, which will have to reflect the huge changes related to the new regulations in Formula 1. In the meantime, I recommend giving F1 25 a chance.

    Blades of Fire has two faces – at first the game irritates with nearly every little thing, but after a while the pieces seem to fit quite nicely. I wanted to discover new mechanics (that were extremely poorly explained) and really get to know the game. But that does not change the fact, that it is tiresome and demands frequent breaks.

    Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny was a great game on PS2 and nothing has changed more than 2 decades later. The remaster has the same set of good and bad things, with some quality of life changes and bonuses that will appeal mostly to fans of the series.

    RoadCraft, despite a few controversial changes and shortcomings, strikes me as a way more engaging title than SnowRunner. This is a very welcoming game for beginners, and one that gives much more satisfaction upon completing tasks. And it is also a brand new, very potent basis to expand the franchise.

    The gunfights are just OK, though. On the plus side, there's a system of crouching behind cover, like in a standard cover shooter, and a choice of several weapons that we can carry. But with the camera showing the action from above, even further away than in Midnight Fight Express, they're neither spectacular nor particularly engaging, and come down to pointing the cursor at the target. Fortunately, gunfights happen much less often than car chases, and it's in this area that The Precinct shines the most.

    The Dark Ages is the best post-reboot game in the series. It may not distance itself from the predecessors (both are great), but none of them pulled me in so hard and for so long. What’s more, I just sat through the end credits and I immediately want to begin the slaughter again.

    If I were a teenager still, this game would ingrain itself into my brain the same way Final Fantasy VII did in 1997. Right now, when there are numerous predictions about the death of single player games, when creativity is shackled by the sales department, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a true gem worth every praise.

    Tempest Rising is a classic RTS with a campaign, a spiritual successor to Command & Conquer that painstakingly remakes all things we know from the past. It won’t make the publishers want to give us more games like this, but it is like a ray of sunshine on a cloudy sky above RTS land. One that will make fans of C&C smile.

    Paradoxically, where South of Midnight decides to use original ideas and boldly jumps into the deep end, it swims with grace and charm, while where it is afraid to abandon the lifeline of genre cliché, it simply stays afloat. If we were to distill the outstanding things from this item, we would get an excellent concept album with an accompanying animated film. It's a pity, because if the game designers had dared to go a bit crazy, it could have been a really great game, but it is simply good; a really interesting, refreshing interlude for two or three evenings, after which you will probably be left with another item on your playlist and a little more knowledge about a corner of the States that we don't usually see. And an awakened, but still unsatisfied appetite for folklore from other parts of the world.

    I have experienced quite a few really cool moments while playing Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, but after 40 hours of playtime all those moments are lost in time like tears in rain. This new Creed has some interesting ideas to shake up the formula, but none of them are good enough to make it count. All in all, any potential for greatness was squandered for yet another opportunity to make a very big game.

    Xenoblade Chronicles X was a very ambitious game that debuted on a practically dying console. But right now you can confidently say that you have found a perfect example of a game ahead of its time. This definitive edition not only shows the strength of the series, but jRPG genre as a whole.

    Split Fiction is yet another triumph for Josef Fares. In the area of co-op experiences, nobody has even come close to what Hazelight proposes. No one can top this brilliant and incredibly difficult to execute gameplay formula. I can’t wait to hear the developer’s fiery speech at this year’s Game Awards, when he will undoubtedly receive another trophy.

    If you're a fan of the series, you've probably already placed a pre-order, and if not, you should know that Monster Hunter: Wilds is definitely worth playing. However, I think that if you're just starting out with Monster Hunter, World will be a great introduction, and by the time you finish it, Capcom will probably have sorted out most of Wilds' technical issues, and maybe even dropped the price a bit from the launch version.

    There’s quite a lot of things that are not perfect in Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii – a short and unevenly paced story is one of them. Fortunately, there’s so much good stuff that it balances out. Combat, naval battles, absurdly funny side quests and a unique atmosphere of “contemporary piracy” are fun enough to make Like a Dragon fans feel at home.

    Avowed is a great RPG, it’s as simple as that. This game made me forget about mediocre The Outer Worlds and refueled my trust for Obsidian. Their new game, though smaller in scope and not without some rough edges, is full of all the things that made New Vegas, Pillars of Eternity or Tyranny so good. For fans of a more classic approach to RPG, it's a must-see.

    Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 isn't a game that should attract every kind of player, but even though you might have avoided the first part for whatever reason, you definitely should give the sequel a chance. It is a much more spectacular, bigger in every way mega-game that stands out from its peers.

    Civilization 7 is a very pretty and very chaoitc game. Brave but not thought out. It introduces changes that aren’t inherently bad, and they build an interesting foundation for a probably great game in the future. Unfortunately now we got an early access production for a premium access price.

    The new Indiana Jones is a game that would rock my world in 2014. Today it’s a game that struggles technologically (Uncharted 4 looks better) and gameplay-wise, with some additional issues. Still, I can’t help but like this game. I see all the flaws (some were really irritating), but I liked the puzzles, the protagonist and some very cool scenes. I had a lot of fun, and my main issue – regarding the immersion-breaking AI – is very personal.

    Metaphor: ReFantazio is a very good RPG with great gameplay and a superbly constructed world. But it's important to remember that it's a fairy tale - then the convention adopted won't be so glaring. Maybe I myself subconsciously fell into the trap of constantly referring to Persona? Because of this, it's a little difficult for me to talk about a groundbreaking work of art, but only about a truly unconventional game. Check it out for yourself.

    Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is an unique feat of engineering with elements of a game. We get another graphical revolution that – as revolutions tend to do – is quite bumpy. But at the same time it allows you to feel like a professional pilot or simply have fun by flying directly over your house.

    I was irritated by many things while playing Farming Simulator 25. Still, this is the best game in the series this far and a great foundation for future updates from the community – as long as the developers keep hearing what fans have to say.

    STALKER 2 did not manage to scare me off, despite many issues. The technical bugs couldn’t fight the magic of this game. It shows perfectly how hard it is to give a one, final note – both high and low notes can be justified with many arguments. It all boils down to: how much can you forgive for the opportunity to dive into the Zone?

    Black Ops 6 makes up for the disaster that was last year's Call of Duty. Almost everything works here - the game is pretty, the campaign has some surprises, and omnimovement makes multiplayer feel fresh. This installment joins the best CoDs on the new engine (Modern Warfare 2019 and Cold War). But please fix the launcher!

    I'm incredibly glad that Brothership was made, and despite its unimpressive beginning, I don't regret a single moment spent with the title (apart from the optional volleyball minigame on the first ocean, but I'm guilty of that suffering myself). I wish interested readers a happy trip to Concordia and I hope you finish the first sea as soon as possible.

    A brilliantly directed interactive film awaits you, with an engaging and often surprising plot, a galaxy of expressive characters whose fates you will sincerely care about, and excellent audiovisual setting. If you like to explore and “max out”, you will also find a lot of side content to discover here (I estimate the whole thing at a minimum of 15-20 hours of play). Just don’t expect mind-stimulating puzzles, difficult moral choices, “brain-scraping” or a reunion with Chloe, and everything will be fine.

    Veilguard is easily the best game BioWare has released since Mass Effect 3 – it has a better story and gameplay design than Inquisition (which I found mediocre at best) and is a better game than Andromeda in every way ( I won't even mention Anthem ). But what used to impress me now just seems good – maybe I've changed, maybe other developers set the bar too high. Maybe the students have surpassed the master; maybe that's just the way it has to be.
