Defector is such a mixed bag. The production values are top-notch as you’d expect from Twisted Pixel and Oculus Studios, and Defector employs great ideas for an exciting adventure, most of the time. A little more gameplay variety would’ve been nice, jumping out of windows, rappelling down ravines, climbing the Effiel Tower in a suit, you know, stupid spy stuff. It should have been Oculus Rift’s answer to Blood & Truth, however, the experience just misses the mark.

ZED was such a promising title, and with Cyan Ventures helping to back it for launch, all the ingredients were there for a unique experience. However, that’s not been the case. A pretty videogame does not necessarily make for one that excites and enthrals. There has been some great VR content arrive this year, ZED is not one of them.

Space Ops VR is a bit of a guilty pleasure. Sure it’s rather generic and it has its faults – some more head-scratching than others – and the multiplayer needs some more people, yet it’s hard not to like just a little bit. If it was overpriced then Space Ops VR wouldn’t be worth it. Luckily it’s not, get a good sale price and Space Ops VR is worth a cheeky purchase.

While all the flashy extras such as customisation options or other gameplay modes don’t exist in FREEDIVER: Triton Down, the videogame is still one that shouldn’t be overlooked. Short it may be (roughly an hour), nevertheless it’s an energetic journey which keeps you on edge at all times. Hopefully, Archiact plan on spinning this out further as FREEDIVER: Triton Down seems more like the first episode in a larger story.

From start to finish Blood & Truth is one hell of a ride, a finely choreographed John Woo movie that’s all about sheer entertainment.

The Oculus Rift version is as good as ever and now offers even more value for money thanks to the new features, it is a little shame that there’s no cross-buy support for Oculus Quest. And as for the mobile version, there’s a reason why Beat Saber made VRFocus’ ‘Top 10 List’ for launch day purchases as you can now take Beat Saber with you anywhere. Either version of Beat Saber is great for new and veteran VR fans alike, and VRFocus’ score applies to both.

Shadow Point is a suitably well-accomplished puzzle experience. Those previous grumbles aside, there’s enough here to provide a good few hours of entertainment without breaking a sweat or running the risk of hitting a wall accidentally. Shadow Point isn’t quite up to the standard of Coatsink Software’s Augmented Empire for Oculus Go but it’s a charming adventure no the less.

As a launch title for Oculus Quest Face Your Fears 2 really should amaze and drop you to the floor in horror. Yet at no point does the experience ever feel like it can attain those heights, treading mediocre level ground that sorely underuses the device’s ability. Face Your Fears 2 is by no means a bad VR experience it’s just not up to the calibre of Turtle Rock Studios’ previous output.

There’s plenty to love about Final Assault. Providing a leaner less complicated approach to RTS gameplay, most fans of the genre apart from the die-hard stalwarts should find there’s enough depth and reply value to keep coming back for hours on end. Much in the same way VRFocus enjoyed Brass Tactics, Final Assault is another superb example of why table-top gaming works in VR.

To be honest Vacation Simulator was always going to face an uphill struggle against its sibling. Is it better than Job Simulator, most definitely yes, enhancing that hands-on play style fans love. But it also arrives at a time very different to 2016, when expectations have changed, but it hasn’t. Once again the series proves ideal for newcomers. Experienced players will get through Vacation Simulator fairly quickly with the only reason to go back being to 100% the memories. Where Vacation Simulator will really find its market is on standalone devices like Oculus Quest creating new VR fans.

On its own Skyworld: Kingdom Brawl plays just fine, taking popular card gaming and bringing it to life for some rather epic tabletop battles. The gameplay design hasn’t changed since the original, just the offering of more online PvP battles. However, should you want value for money and a card-based videogame, then Skyworld is a much better bet.

Virtual Space Port is still a highly enjoyable puzzle experience that really makes use of VR’s roomscale to give you complete freedom to build. Set against a gorgeous interstellar backdrop, ViSP – Virtual Space Port is almost the perfect example of a well designed indie VR title, delicately balancing content and gameplay.

The idea is novel in itself but it feels like the entire experience is resting on that singular features shoulders. Even a couple of years ago the gameplay might have looked a little aged yet now it looks dated. With over 50 levels providing a decent amount of gameplay time, the repetition will likely wear on most VR fans. What PlanTechtor needed was more of the tower defence style gameplay, with the possibility to move to other towers, and slightly more convoluted levels to give it that extra slice of variety.

Dick Wilde 2 was never going to be a standout experience but for fans of the original, there’s enough new content to be worth a look. Those new to VR will also enjoy the title, as the gameplay is kept to purely shooting stuff. But for those VR gamers who have owned their headset for a good couple of years, Dick Wilde 2 won’t suffice, only scratching the surface of what VR can do.

Rovio Entertainment and Resolution Games have certainly played it safe with Angry Birds VR: Isle of Pigs. While there aren’t really any major surprises when it comes to content and gameplay the adaption to VR has worked superbly well, with the studios retaining the high production values they’re known for. Angry Birds VR: Isle of Pigs is Angry Birds just in VR, and that’s no bad thing, equally fun and frustrating as it ever was.

As the name indicates Escape Room Series: Robbery at the Museum is the first in a possible long-running escape room series – the start of the videogame showcases nine titles, eight of which are ‘coming soon’. However, there are plenty of issues to iron out before VRFocus could recommend it. With the irregularity of the puzzles, scenery which mostly looks cobbled together from basic Unity assets, and improvements needed with the hand design, if you’re after an escape room experience look else ware.

A Fisherman’s Tale is in many respects the VR title VRFocus hoped it would be, inventive use of the technology that oozes heart and soul, making you care about the character and his astonishing little world. The puzzles help to carry the story along yet don’t offer anywhere near the complexity of titles like Transpose. The main downside, it leaves you wanting more when there’s no more to be had.

Arca’s Path comes at a time when VR is maturing. We’re seeing the medium move away from the deep trench of wave shooters that began to suffocate the medium and coming back to more unique ideas built specifically for the hardware. Arca’s Path is exactly this kind of experience – it would arguably work as a traditional non-VR videogame, but certainly wouldn’t have the same impact – and as such offers an engrossing worthy of your time aside any bigger titles that may be on your agenda. It does also act well as a first-step into VR, which despite now having more than two years of consumer adoption is still an important factor over this holiday season.

As a stealth experience for VR Shadow Uprising is a welcome addition to the fold. It’s a title with some decent entertainment value and should have a good few hours of gameplay if you enjoy properly sneaking around. That being said, Shadow Uprising doesn’t feature any wow factor to make it a must-have experience, just middle of the road.

Borderlands 2 VR is most certainly a highlight of this year’s VR releases and one of the best titles yet to hit PlayStation VR. Its still Borderlands 2, sure, but you’ve never played Borderlands 2 like this before.

Scraper: First Strike has plenty of little bits and pieces that are appealing and it’s been perfectly tuned for immersive VR gameplay. Because it is episodic some may find it’s not particularly lengthy, but turn the difficulty up and you’re in for a challenge. As a debut title, Labrodex Inc. should be proud of what’s been achieved. And with four more planned Scraper: First Strike is an impressive showcase.

PolyCube is no cakewalk, this is definitely a virtual reality (VR) videogame for the puzzle aficionado. There are no frills, just hardcore block stacking, with the controls more than apt for the purpose. It might not be a showpiece for VR but what the hell it works just fine, and its dirt cheap on Steam which is always nice.

All in all the Witching Tower is a reasonably solid VR experience throughout. It’s not overly long but there are secrets to find for those completionists out there which help stretch the gameplay that bit further. While it doesn’t break new ground or offer anything too unique, the Witching Tower is still an enjoyable title for those who love this genre of videogame.

Déraciné is beautiful and atmospheric and has a deep and absorbing story to tell, but its easy to question why this needs to be a VR title. The tonal inconsistency and node-based movement might also be off-putting, but for those who wish to be absorbed in a story, Déraciné is worth giving a look.

Transpose is a feast for the eyes as well as the mind, with enough levels to keep most busy for a good few hours. If there’s a downside then the Echo Bands can be a bit fiddly when trying to delete Echos. Other than that, Transpose is a mesmerising experience that VR players shouldn’t overlook.

Unearthing Mars 2: The Ancient War is an improvement on the first Unearthing Mars, but the impressive visuals writes a cheque that the lacklustre gameplay simply cannot cash.

Its the presentation where The Exorcist: Legion VR shines. It is not long or complex, but it has bags of atmosphere and says what it needs to say with panache. The sense of presence is used effectively to give you a properly immersive horror experience. As Halloween approaches, it is definitely one to look into for fans of horror.

In Death is a VR videogame for those that want a challenge. The level design and weapon handling are beautiful with soaring angelic structures emanating from the clouds, pin point accuracy for satisfying headshots. The devil seems to be in the details with In Death, offering rinse and repeat gameplay that will keep you coming back for more.

Overall, Smash Hit Plunder works best as a social party game. There’s a great deal of satisfaction to be gained from smashing things to bits, and its is pleasing enough to explore and look at. Some more hidden unlocks or other secrets (apart from the secret rooms, but tend to be slightly too easy to find) might have given the title a longer shelf life. As it is, its worth pulling out for some amusing group videogames, or for when a de-stressing session is needed. Still worth buying for parties and social gatherings.

Dark Eclipse works well enough, but the mixture of MOBA and RTS elements means it feels watered-down and lacking a firm identity. In addition, the lack of a large community of online players presents a problem for an online-focussed title. For a free to play title, it is solid, and worth considering for RTS fans.

Overall, Racket Fury: Table Tennis VR is a good table tennis simulator with great physics and a pleasant backdrop, but the lack of multiplayer and strange absence of music leave holes in what would otherwise be a very satisfying title. This is one of enthusiasts, though once the multiplayer comes out, it might be worth a second luck.

While Astro Bot Rescue Mission isn’t quite as charming as Moss, or as superbly crafted as Mario Odyssey, it is a great old-school platformer for the VR era, bringing some of the best features of both 2D and 3D platformers of old and incorporating VR in a way that doesn’t feel awkward. This is a fun, lighthearted way to spend some time in VR, and worth checking out.

Survios has once again done an outstanding job, with Creed: Rise to Glory helping cement the studio as one of VR’s premium content developers. You don’t have to be into boxing to enjoy this title, and for those who enjoy VR fitness it certainly ticks all the boxes. You may lose interest in the story but there’s enough to keep most players involved for quite some time.

Jet Island doesn’t look like much in comparison to some VR titles yet it offers a wealth of challenges for those that want to put the time in and explore. You can completely ignore the bosses and just whizz around the landscape to your hearts content, which in itself isn’t easy, yet that would be missing out on an important chunk of the experience. Not one for every gamer, Jet Island is certainly worth a look for those with VR legs.

With its mix of comedy charm and light-hearted gameplay Paperville Panic provides and enjoyable VR escape that should put a smile on players faces. There are some short comings with experienced players likely to find it on the short side. Even so, there’s still a decent amount of fun to be had as you shoot Paperville citizens in the face.

If you love a good horror experience then Transference should be on your to buy list. It’s a videogame that should come with a heart warning, not because of jump scares, just merely due to the fact it’ll get your heart racing for the entire duration. Ubisoft and SpectreVision have done a commendable job entwining both live-action story and gameplay elements to make Transference one of the best psychological thrillers for VR.

Unknown Fate isn’t one of these pickup and play mobile titles for a quick 20-30 minutes of gameplay, this needs patience. Mainly to unlock the story so you can figure out what’s going on but also because it’s not exactly content rich – some elements are spaced out. There’s some lovely design work at play between the audio and visuals but it’s debatable whether that’s enough to see you through the 4+ hours of gameplay available.

Symphonics isn’t going to be for everyone, it’s way too stark at the moment. However, if you love VR and creating your own music then this is certainly worth a look for the cheap price as it is entertaining, and VRFocus will be interested in seeing it take shape.

If you can master the somewhat difficult controls, there is a great deal of enjoyment to be found in Zone Of The Enders: The 2nd Runner – Mars. Fans of the series should buy this immediately, and giant mech fans will also want to add it to their libraries. For others, it is certainly worth investigating, though the challenging controls might prove off-putting for some.

Firewall Zero Hour has managed to avoid many of the common pitfalls of VR online multiplayers and add its own interesting twist to the military FPS genre. The lobby system could use some improvements, but otherwise its a finely crafted title that will be of great interest to FPS fans.

Bow to Blood is a fine, fun title with some minor niggles. The combat is good, though somewhat tricky to get used to, but the alliance system offers something interesting and unique that elevates the title to a higher level.

Let’s be clear that while Code51: Mecha Arena looks good and the gameplay design makes for a comfortable fighting title, it does still feel like its lacking substance. With so few additional options it can’t compete with Archangel: Hellfire for shear gameplay finesse. Code51: Mecha Arena needs more, otherwise it’s one of those videogames that’s great for 30 minutes or so before you want to move onto something else.

Track Lab is a well-crafted experience. It looks good, sounds even better and is wonderfully intuitive, even for people with no prior knowledge of music creation. Its definitely worth your time if you are interested in music or puzzle games. Its a good VR title, but the ability to share your music would push it over from good to great.

Torn is a beautiful title to look and showcases a premium level of detail and quality that’s only ever found in a few VR titles. The puzzles themselves maybe on the simple side and the ending is somewhat underwhelming yet that doesn’t detract from the wonderful adventure as a whole, with Torn evoking a charming strangeness that carries you through.

Overall, Gates of Nowhere is a visually stunning hack-and-slash dungeon crawler with enough other things to do like magic crafting, exploration and puzzle solving to make it absorbing and engaging. Though some aspects of the combat, such as the bow and arrow, could still use a tweaking, this title is certainly worth your time.

Survios has managed to do what few VR developers have done, secure a hat trick of quality titles that should be in everyone’s library. Electronauts combines a wonderfully elaborate yet perfectly simple gameplay design alongside some of the best dance tunes from around the world, making for a videogame that will have you playing for hours and wanting just one more go.

Marvel Powers United VR really is a mixed bag of goodies. One the one hand are its high production values, with gorgeous character models and scenery, easy control schemes and comfortable gameplay style. It’s the repetition that lets it down, dissolving the gameplay down to basic wave-based combat. With four friends you’ll get some life out of Marvel Powers United VR, just not the heroic gameplay most were looking for.

Overall, The Persistence is a great sci-fi horror experience that cleverly uses VR to slowly ratchet up the tension and fear. While never entirely terrifying, it does still work well as horror, with just enough randomisation to keep you coming back for more.

While Animal Force makes a valiant effort to bring some changes to the tower defence genre, and take advantage of VR, and it only manages to clear the its okay bar. It has some nice touches, and an appealing art style, but it also has very linear, repetitive gameplay, a steep difficulty curve and some very bizarre gameplay decisions that prevent it from being as good as it could have been.

For an on-rails shooter in 2018 Naked Sun isn’t going to set the VR industry alight with an original idea or gameplay. It’s another title that perfectly suits the ideas of what VR could achieve a couple of years ago without going any further. On the other hand it’s extremely comfortable to play, has great gun control mechanics and will draw you in enough to probably complete it in one sitting. A decent yet average VR experience.

Salary Man Escape has some flaws, but it offers plenty of gameplay time for the money, The controls take some adjusting to, but there’s definite satisfaction to be found from mastering it, particularly as you advance up into the later and more complex levels.

Seeking Dawn is the kind of title you have a love/hate relationship with. On the one hand when it works smoothly it’s a really fun and beautiful VR experience to play, with masses of content and hours and hours of gameplay. Unfortunately it’s not perfect, with plenty of repetition and glitches that need finessing. It might not be VR’s summer blockbuster but Seeking Dawn isn’t quite the dud either.

As a normal piece of VR content HoloLAB Champions is short but sweet, offering an informative introduction into the world of chemistry. This isn’t the sort of title where you can go all mad scientist and create crazy concoctions – there’s Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-Ality for that – but it’s not meant to be. As a teaching tool it’s quite easy to see how VR has a place within education.

Cygnus Defense Alpha is a fun little experience that’s certainly enjoyable for the couple of hours the 15 levels last. A neat little time waster it might be but it’s a shame there’s not a lot more on offer as the idea behind the videogame is sound. This is one of those titles that make for a good introductory purchase for Oculus Go because its cheap, but you’ll soon find yourself wanting something with a little more depth.

Magic Flight Academy needs to offer an awful lot more for the single-player experience for the price. What exists on Steam is exhilarating and reasonably fun, but simply isn’t worth the price of admission, especially when you consider the high-quality VR titles available on Steam for the same or lower price that offer much more in way of content.

Sniper Rust VR is trying quite hard to be the Sniper Elite 4 of VR, but sadly lack the setting, storyline, characters and polish needed to be in that league. A lot more work needs to be done before it can be considered as a recommended title, especially in terms of graphics and the great, gaping plot holes. What works in a casual mobile title does not always translate well into PC, especially in VR.

Black Hat Cooperative is great for players who have another person handy who would be willing to switch in and out of VR, though the many, many deaths and failures you will experience can cause frustration, there is nonetheless a sense of camaraderie and joy to be found in Black Hat Cooperative that is well worth exploring.

For a title produced by a very small, independent developer, Orb Labs Inc does an excellent job of creating a world and immersing you in it. The gameplay flow is great once you get the hang of it, and it offers an interesting story.

Lila’s Tale is a quaint VR experience which will enthral a younger player but older gamers will likely find the title to be a little hollow. With nine levels to play through and the challenge on really setting in after five or six, game time is going to be short and sweet. But with no secrets to find, the replay factor is limited. Not an essential purchase for Oculus Go, there are others in this genre that are better.

Gunheart has a lot going for it, visually well designed with decent gunplay mechanics and enough content to keep most players happy for several hours. There are bugs and some optimisation issues – just having a better than min spec PC might work – yet the overall experience is still very enjoyable. Certainly Gunheart’s main hook is the easy, drop in co-op gameplay, yet there’s not always many people about, an issue a lot of VR multiplayers suffer with.

If you enjoy VR videogames like Kittypocalypse then Paws ‘n Claws has that similar charm to it. It’s a fun little time waster that younger players will certainly enjoy. It lacks the depth of other tower defence experiences and just doesn’t quite have enough uniqueness in its gameplay offerings to shine in its own right.

Downward Spiral: Horus Station does exactly what it needed to, presenting a far grander and more engaging instalment to the VR series. It’s not perfect, with some annoying glitches that really do need to be ironed out. However, the core experience is thoroughly enjoyable and more importantly massive.

All in all, Red Matter is a very high calibre VR experience, neatly weaving its story and puzzle elements together. It by no means perfect, following the line of other puzzles in VR that are seemingly unable to offer plenty of reasons to come back for more. So like a good meal take it slowly and savour the moment.

Overall, Knockout League is an entertaining arcade fitness title. As long as you are expecting the kind of arcade-style pattern matching and not a proper boxing simulator, you are quite likely to derive some entertainment out of Knockout League, as well as get some decent exercise from it.

Should you complete the main campaign then there’s always survival mode, which is exactly the same just without end, like some kind of VR torture. There’s nothing wrong with throwing the rulebook out and trying something new but there’s always that chance something doesn’t click. And it doesn’t with Fruit for the Village. It’s easy to see there’s polish and finesse to the title yet the core gameplay is more gamejam than professional puzzler.

The Way of Kings: Escape the Shattered Plains will be of interest to people who are big fans of Brandon Sanderson’s work, or for people who are curious about what a The Stormlight Archive TV series might feel like, anyone else will only feel frustrated a a bit short-changed by how brief and limited it all is. If this was the first part in an episodic series, it might be enough to draw interest, but otherwise its’ something best left for hardcore fans only.

République VR is a well-designed VR experience that sits well on Oculus Go, and certainly showcases how good the lenses are on the headset. The puzzles may not be the most difficult with the main challenge purely resting on evasion, yet there’s enough to keep you engaged for many hours. Up against similar mobile titles like Augmented Empire and Term1nal, République VR should definitely be on your library list.

They Suspect Nothing is a consistent bundle of fun mini-games, yet as a launch title slightly underwhelming. It’s a safe and easy experience for gamers of all ages that looks great and plays well. On the other hand They Suspect Nothing isn’t Coatsink’s best VR work, that’s still Augmented Empire (which handily now supports Oculus Go).

Laser Puzzle in VR is certainly one for the VR puzzle aficionados. It’s got a decent amount of content and the difficulty level ramps up at a steady pace that you shouldn’t get too stuck until later on. Yes the design is sparse but at least it works in a min spec PC so everyone can enjoy it. Considering ARVI’s VR titles released so far, Laser Puzzle in VR is probably the best.

The core ‘obstacle course’ style gameplay is fun but can be a little shallow, repetitive and frustrating at points. However, being frustrated is almost the point of the experience, ViRa Games’ title is something to learn from, an experience that could really only work in VR and that opens your eyes and creates empathy for others. It would be great to see more videogames like this, putting you in the shoes of someone who wasn’t a powerful wizard or secret agent.

Starbear: Taxi skirts a fine line quirky VR puzzler and short tech demo. Thankfully it leans more towards the former, offering an amusingly addictive experience that can actually draw you in for some time. It’s not on the same level as Cosmic Trip yet for those after a quick and simple time killer its ideal.

Those looking for a causal city-building experience might take satisfaction in it if they can master the late-game balancing, and fans of puzzle games will doubtless enjoy challenge mode. Hardcore city-planners will likely be too frustrated by the lack of depth, but it might be worth a look for them anyway.

Playing the main Megadimension Neptunia story in VR is mostly worth it, but the poorly-rendered VR-only sections do little or nothing to really add to proceedings other than hurt your eyes and make you feel awkward. Its fun, but unless you don’t already have a copy of the original title, its one for fans only.

In all, there feel like somewhat minor gripes for a well-crafted, if somewhat brief, VR experience that delivers great storytelling and characterisation in a fascinating and funny universe. If it had a proper ended instead of just..stopping, it would be truly sublime.

There are points when Kartong – Death by Cardboard can feel repetitious and samey, constantly running around cardboard mazes, either hiding in sheer terror or barrelling in, your pin loaded crossbow at the ready. Yet this dark, twisted fantasy world has a charm all of its own, both equally scary and wondrous at the same time.

STAR SOD is a very worthy effort for a lone coder, and shows a great deal of promise, but at times feels a little unpolished for a supposedly finished title. There are hints that this could evolve into a larger series of videogames, and further development of the idea seems a worthy goal. At present, it is an excellent showcase of one developer’s talent, which is worth checking out.

Zombie Grenades Practice has a lot of positives going for it, with a nice mixture of levels and options with which to complete them. The optimisation problem is going to be an issue for some – if you don’t have a GTX 1070 or an AMD RX Vega 56 or higher then don’t bother – yet for those with the kit Zombie Grenades Practice is a reasonable, albeit short, VR experience that offers a change from all the guns.

ime Carnage is well-made, and is a fine, competent example of its genre, with some excellent music and sound design, though it ultimately fails to stand out amidst many other similar titles that litter VR videogame libraries. Shooting dinosaurs is still lots of fun, though.

Crisis on the Planet of the Apes VR is by no means one of the best VR experiences out there, but as a film tie-in it certainly sets the bar high. If you’re a fan of the Planet of the Apes franchise then Crisis on the Planet of the Apes VR is certainly worth checking out, everyone else may find it too constrained and short lived.

The initial premise of Island Time makes for fun quirky experience to begin with. Utilising repetitive gameplay however cuts a fine line between addictive ‘must try harder’ and boring tedium, a line that Island Time really does sit on. It is hard not to like Island Time yet after five or six longer sessions that sheen starts to wear off as the variety does.

This is a short and sweet VR experience from the fledgling development team, with a few puzzles to solve using just one magical mechanic, object scaling. Conjuror’s Eye as a whole is a novel little time waster. It’ll only take around 20 minutes to complete so it’s a nice little break from some of the lengthier VR titles available now.

There’s no doubt that The American Dream’s commentary on American gun culture will rile some, particularly at this point in the political landscape, nevertheless as a VR experience it’s certain worth your consideration.

There’s plenty to like in Escape Room VR: Stories, with lots to find and a reasonable amount of puzzles to solve in each level, and the visuals are some of the best you’ll see in any virtual reality (VR) title. There are some rough edges however, and even with the multiple endings puzzle fans will still find this a short experience.

What Carbon Studio has done is combine its knowledge from debut VR title Alice VR and the months of Early Access development and distilled it into The Wizards. If you want to feel like an all-powerful sorcerer then The Wizards is up there with the best, an entertaining adventure that will make non-VR players jealous.

While the videogame has many issues deriving from the limitations of the hardware upon which it is built, VRFC: Virtual Reality Football Club remains one of the best sports experiences VR has to offer. More than that however, it’s also one of the best social VR experiences currently available, with the tension of competition and the misery of defeat likely to help make new friends (and potentially enemies) across the VR community.

Boxed In is one of those pleasurable time wasters like the videogames you play on your smartphone. What it lacks in amazing visuals, convoluted narrative or ground breaking gameplay, it makes up for by having a plucky, no nonsense attitude to VR gaming. It may not be a library essential, yet for its price Boxed In is a great little VR bargain for puzzle fans.

Looking great in some scenes and rather basic in others, Rise of Insanity is still a solidly put together experience. The storyline, sound effects and voice acting are all of a decent quality, but the English translation on some of the in-game literature needs some work. Difficulty is virtually none existent so it’s a breeze to play through in around two hours. If you’re looking for a short, digestible horror then Rise of Insanity is a sound bet, just watch out for those rubber ducks.

An awe inspiring educational experience that's somewhat restrained. The main disappointment was the inability to get a closer look at each of the planets themselves. Earth wasn’t a problem, but after seeing them in the Story mode, it would’ve been nice to look at the planets in closer detail at leisure. No amount of fiddling with the controls would allow this, which was a shame for such a technically impressive educational experience.

Moss is a flawlessly crafted experience starring a character that absolutely deserves to be the face of modern VR. Every inch of the world shows attention to detail, and a story is woven that draws you in, making you truly invested in the world and in Quill as a person.

It’s been a long wait but it was worth it. Island 359 offers a proper showcase of what can be built specifically for VR when enough time and effort is put in. It’s not 100 percent perfect in places but the videogame offers enough of everything that you won’t really care. Grab that gun and get hunting in this thoroughly enjoyable and engaging VR shooter.

For gamers the issue remains about replay, and how many times you want to sit on the same ride, or whack the same penguins. No matter how good it looks, Summer Funland won’t quite have that same draw as more focused titles. Summer Funland may not light the VR world on fire but it provides an enjoyable – if somewhat short – piece of entertainment. If you’ve got kids or want an all-in-one experience to show VR virgins then Summer Funland is an ideal starting point.

All in all Hidden Path Entertainment has achieved what it set out to deliver, a well-tuned VR RTS that fans of the genre should be easily impressed by. Sure it’s not perfect, but in comparison to others in the same class Brass Tactics is one of the best.

Despite some minor gripes, its clear that Apex Construct represents the way forward for VR videogames, an absorbing, intriguing experience that draws you in with a rich world complete with is own history and mysteries to be unravelled as well as a fluid combat system. Apex Construct is the standard by which future VR titles will be judged, and an indicator that VR has stepped up its game.

Overall, Pop-Up Pilgrims is a fun little puzzle title with a gorgeous art style, but its control scheme could have used a bit more thought, and an option to re-map some of the buttons would not have gone amiss, neither would some manner of in-game manual or tutorial. Fans of Lemmings will no doubt have great fun exploring this new twist on a classic idea.

There’s very little to dislike in Sprint Vector. Sure there will be times when that competitive edge over takes you, getting annoyed when you fudge a jump but that’s to be expected. The single-player has enough to get you started with a few hours of gameplay, yet it’s the multiplayer that’ll have you coming back for more. Here’s hoping that Sprint Vector draws in enough of a crowd to sustain it, rather than becoming another multiplayer focused experience that gets forgotten about. Which would be a shame, because from where VRFocus is standing Sprint Vector is another hit for the studio.

In the end though it all comes down to how much time and enjoyment you’ll get out of Sairento VR and rest assured it’ll be plenty. If Mixed Realms hadn’t managed to nail down the movement system then Sairento VR could’ve been just another FPS with a myriad of options. Instead, Sairento VR is one of the best free flowing combat titles available for VR headsets, showcasing how far development of VR locomotion has come.

For what it offers End Space is a nice solid experience. It’s not going to set the VR world on fire as it lacks polish and depth when competing against other Oculus Rift titles. Spend a few bucks on it when it’s in a sale and you’ll own one of the best Gear VR ports to come to Oculus Rift.

Stunt Corgi is one of those VR titles that’s hard to define. It doesn’t really fit into any category and doesn’t feature any goal as such – for those that like a start and end to their videogames. The experience is missing certain options like movement or being able to manipulate the items – like stretching or shrinking them – but that doesn’t mean it’s not enjoyable to play. Stunt Corgi is a videogame you’ll either love and spend hours on or find it amusing for an hour then get bored, the question you need to ask yourself is, how much do you love making corgi’s jump through hoops?
