The game draws heavily on Sid Meier’s Pirates!, with some minor differences in setting and more action-oriented gameplay. Still, it lacks the polish of Pirates! and gets bogged down by some questionable interface decisions reminiscent of older, less-refined games.

If you don't care about details like the Chinese camping out in Africa, the gamebreaking units, the really bad AI, the even worse pathing logic, and the fact that you can't play the game on hardware more than 2 years old then you may enjoy this.

In the end I think this is a good game that just missed the mark of being a truly great game.

Perseus Mandate needs to be the last installment in this tired franchise because the thrill is gone.

I was taken aback by the difficulty of the intro. The tutorial word in the fill-in-the-blank game is Villain. That was something a little over the top for my 7 year old.

While it won't quite help you to "learn a new language", it will give you a good foundation in Spanish and set you up for an easier time learning what you need to become fluent.

The glaring use of 8-bit menus and what seems to be very low effort produce a game with any depth or redeeming qualities.

I’m sure that it took a lot of convincing to get Activision to sign off on moving to a modern setting instead of the wildly successful World War II model that has performed so well since the game’s inception, but it has paid off in spades.

While some developers develop for the console platforms and then hand off their PC port to other people, Infinity Ward holds onto their PC roots by handling this title personally. The result is a PC version that is as solid as its console counterparts, and we the gamer reap the benefits no matter which platform we choose.

Unless your goal is replacing your expired Ambien prescription with something that may arguably be more effective, or you think casting Jerry Seinfield as a honey producing bug might actually be the bee's knees (sorry), then I highly recommend you rush out and buy this game immediately.

The horrific control scheme literally kills the game from the word go, and the pain is only amplified by the equally terrible teammate and enemy AI, the awful graphics, the schizophrenic aerial missions, and on and on and on.

Come for the role playing and story, but as soon as someone speaks, please turn down the volume to save your ears some distress.

A really great chess game. The presentation values are excellent, and it has a wonderful training mode which includes fully-voiced tutorials from Josh Waitzkin.

This game is fan service in its most pure form. It is a shame that the camera is, as Mr. Sparkle would say “Most-ah Disrespectful-ooh” to the polish present in much of the rest of the game.

There has to be several of 70+ tracks on here that you'll enjoy a majority of if you're over 25. If you haven't jumped on the bandwagon by now, you won't be dissapointed.

Guitar Hero III definitely fixes that issue and makes the game more friendly for the casual gamer scene. Don’t let the boss battles scare you, and if you approach it with an open mind you’ll probably find that you enjoy them.

So what is the point here? Are we trying to invent an RPG/Shooter/Mouse-chaser with the thinnest of story lines and low-brow acting and call it revolutionary?

The game gets a great deal right and brings collectable card games to the casual player, but there are a few things that really hurt it, like the short USB cable and a finicky eye that relies heavily on overhead lighting.

If you have every version of Tony Hawk, then you’ll be impressed with how much has been added. If you used to play it but haven’t purchased any of the next gen titles, then it’s high time to get reacquainted with Tony Hawk again.
