It's better than Jak II in how it's simpler to move around from place to place. That's a plus. Its range of difficulty has diminished since Jak II. That's a bit of a plus and a minus. The game's more action-oriented than it is platform based. That's a bit more of a minus than it is a plus.

Rock Band also doesn’t go where Neversoft took Guitar Hero III; namely, it doesn’t have any boss battles with celebrity rockers or frantic weapons-based multiplayer mechanics. Harmonix, however, outperforms its former franchise when it comes to the graphics.

The amazing levels don't contribute to the game's magnificence alone. More so, it's the way in which the moving characters are all just right on the money.

Any game that can reference Contra, GodlenEye, Fargo, Mega Man, Tremors and include two Atari 2600-like mini games (Super Soviet Missile Mastar rules!) would already be alright in my book. But to do it like Alien Hominid does it is incredible.
