This PlayStation 3-exclusive is long-winded, simplistic and not much fun to play!

Despite being far from the best version of this series, the Walking Dead on Vita is still a stellar adventure. The quality of Telltale's work transcends the various technical issues that haunt this port.

Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games isn’t all that bad, but it’s not great either. The controls for a lot of the events are iffy at best, but there are events that are still enjoyable, especially the Dream Events. This is one where I’d check out the demo or rent it first to see if you like it before plunking down $50 for it.

Based on one of the best PSP games ever made, OMG HD Zombies is yet another stellar update for Sony's PS Vita.

Darkfall Adventures is a middle-of-the-road Lost World adventure, where our wisecracking Indiana Jones-like hero spends more time saving and re-saving the girl than recovering a purportedly priceless and powerful treasure that ultimately doesn’t come off as all that pricey or powerful in the end.

Pool Nation is a beautiful game that plays great and has a long shelf life.

If you thought the second season of The Walking Dead was going to be more lighthearted, then prepare to be disappointed. All That Remains sees a more mature Clementine battling to survive by herself. As first episodes go, this one definitely gets the job done. The hard part is waiting for the second episode.

If you're keeping your PS3 and are looking for a good, casual racing game, you could do a lot worse that GT 6. If, on the other hand, you are moving to a PS4 and/or are looking for a good hardcore racing simulation, give this one a pass.

There isn't a whole lot to enjoy in Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I Don't Know, it's just boring from start to finish. After the first ten floors or so you've seen a majority of what the game has to offer, with the exception of some interesting boss battles.

World of Warplanes is easy to learn but hard to master. It offers an easily accessible way to join in online dogfights, but survival is a matter of skill, practice, and experience. In its current state, it is very playable and provides a strong foundation for future development but may not have a lot of staying power due to limited strategic depth.

If you happened to pass on this game the first time around but are a fan of Naruto games, Full Burst is an excellent pick up for the price. The small additions go a long way toward making this feel like a complete title.

Star Wars Pinball: Balance of the Force offers three very different stages that take players to all corners of the original trilogy. Whether you're a Star Wars nut or not, Balance of the Force is a great starting point for anybody looking to get into Zen Studios' brand of pinball!

Dead Rising 3 provides plenty of zombie killing fun and is a great game to pick up if you bought an Xbox One. Newcomers to the series will find an incredibly fun game with tons of replay value and co-op fun. Returning fans will find the same thing but may be turned off a bit due to the fact that the core game hasn't really changed all that much.

While Sonic Lost World isn’t a terrible game, I feel as though Sega missed the mark quite a bit here. The controls are very touchy and at times downright horrible, the auto-target feature can get you into trouble with the homing attack, and the novelty of the Special Stages wears off quickly.

Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures is average and generic in every sense of the word.

Senren Kagura: Burst is great in short 'bursts' of gameplay, but is it worth the social stigma of having something so blatantly perverted on your 3DS? I'm still trying to unlock everything after completing this review, so I guess it is.

The Pacific Surfliner LA - San Diego route is a solid addition to the collection of Train Simulator 2014 downloadable content. Unfortunately, the route's design can be more challenging for series newcomers with its frequent speed changes.

From the creator of ToeJam & Earl comes a game about a robot searching for humanity. Doki-Doki Universe has players flying through twenty different planets, all in hopes of finding what makes humans tick.

Need for Speed Rivals is a repetitive adrenaline rush, both good and bad, in the fact that the game will torture you with constant cop chases, but with constantly repeating tracks. Even with this, the game is still fun and is a great pick-up for those who need that fix for open world racing.

Some minor bugs and level design issues keep Beatbuddy from being a great title. It's worth checking out for those who want to try something different, and if you're a fan of Austin Wintory's music, his song alone is worth the price of admission.

If you decide to give A-Men 2 a try, make sure you have plenty of patience. This is a VERY difficult game and you will probably be pulling out your hair as soon as you start playing.

Painkiller: Hell & Damnation is what it is. So what is it? It’s a low-budget game that would have received the same poor marks at the dawn of this generation as it does at its dusk. The simplistic action can be fun, however, so play it at your own risk.

While AquaPazza may not appeal to the masses right off the bat, if you are a fighting game fan it is certainly worth a try. And for fans of the AquaPlus titles, it should be a no brainer that this game is made just for you.

2D platformers are a dime a dozen, and 2D puzzlers aren’t far behind. But The Bridge takes a unique, focused approach and sees it through from every angle.

Adventure Park provides a fun way to try your hand at creating a theme park, but that's only half of it - you have to manage it too. It's quick and easy to learn, and probably somewhat educational as well.

Both Sims veterans and newcomers should find plenty to enjoy in the final expansion for The Sims 3 series. The Sims 3 Into the Future is highly recommended for any Sims fan.

Magrunner: Dark Pulse is a mostly solid magnetic riff on the game-concept set forth by Portal all those years ago, but a handful of design missteps, including one giant fundamental goof-up, work overtime holding it back.

As much as I wanted to go back to Rapture, Burial at Sea is short on story and simplistic in the missions available. It is still good to see some familiar sights being powered by the Unreal Engine 3. Hopefully, the second part of Burial at Sea can help tie up a few things and improve upon the first.

The gameplay is fine, ill give it that, but it just doesn't provide anything fun after you made your first few jumps. It's extremely hard to recommend this game at $20 when you can see all that the game has to offer in about 10 minutes.

I'm really disappointed in Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, and also confused. How could such a good idea be this flawed in execution? There's nothing redeeming this game from all its faults, which is truly a shame.

Wii Party U is a sizable and varied collection of minigames. It’s not much fun unless you have at least four people, but as it stands it’s a pretty good deal: a Wii remote and a big party game, for less than the price of a triple-A title.

Fans will likely eat this sequel up, but Verdict Day makes it hard for newcomers and casual mech fans alike.

It is amazing what results when a developer, such as Media Molecule, truly “gets” the system that they are working with. This is easily going to be one of the marquee titles for the Vita this holiday season and possibly for the system’s entire lifespan.

Super Mario 3D World takes the excellent gameplay from its 3DS predecessor and expands upon it with 4-player co-op, new gameplay and even more creative levels. Mario's first 3D, HD adventure is bar none the best game on Wii U right now and the console's undisputed killer app. Whether played solo or with friends, it is a master class of platformer design and more importantly, one hell of a good time.

Give this one a rental if your curious, otherwise, stay away.

Scribblenauts Unmasked is a nice addition to the Scribblenauts series and an awesome addition to the lineup of DC-themed video games. There is plenty to love here for fans of both universes however DC folks will find that the experience is tailored especially for them.

There are some truly original elements in Demonicon's world and narrative that unfortunately are too brief and few overall. At its current price, The Dark Eye - Demonicon can only be recommended once it goes on sale or enters the bargain bin.

Classic gameplay, infused with fresh concepts and graced with stellar graphics and sound, make A Link Between Worlds one of the best games in the Zelda series and a must-own title this holiday.

A Realm Reborn is such a substantial change from the original game that it merits a second look if you hated the first release. So much has changed for the better, and it has resulted in one of the most polished MMORPGs out there today.

Alien Rage is a game whose initial presentation evokes the likes of Halo, Gears of War, and Killzone, but never lives up to such standards. Frustrating and often unfair difficulty, tedious boss fights, and bland level design make this game feel like an empty shell of its lofty inspirations. In a genre saturated with great games, you could do much better than Alien Rage.

When it comes to RPGs, FORCED is a pretty good game in general. The way the game works is different than other games in the genre and the mechanics are fun to play with (especially the different weapons), but the game just feels more geared towards co-op play and doesn’t seem as much fun when going solo.

Never short on content, Rune Factory 4 is full of things to do that'll keep players engrossed for a long while.

An OK effort for an Arkham game, Batman Arkham Origins feels too similar to Arkham City and there are a few game breaking bugs that prevent it from being worthy to stand with the other two.

Tower defense games are a dime a dozen, but Defense Technica stands slightly above its peers with its modern presentation and some challenging new twists.

Lost Planet 3 has positive elements that a player can truly enjoy. The surprisingly deep storyline and character depth can make up for some of the flaws in the gameplay systems, but dull and repetitive battles make this title nothing more than average.

Atomic Ninjas had the potential to be a fun brawler for four friends, but falls flat due to problematic controls and wonky physics.

You really can't go wrong with this DLC pack and it's only $5. The Digistruct Peak Challenge may take less than an hour to complete but you can run through it seven more times if you wish. That, and over level play pretty much adds so much more content into an already huge package to begin with.

There's a lot in The Wolf Among Us for Fables fans to get excited about. And if you're new to the series, it's just as good an introduction as reading the first tradeback. I enjoyed 'Faith' so much that I did two run-throughs in one sitting, and I can't wait to see where my decisions lead in the next episode.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is an excellent LEGO game featuring a vast array of Marvel heroes and villains. Lack of online co-op and some difficult puzzles for younger ones holds it back a little, but not that much. You'll definitely enjoy the writing and animations.

There were times I wanted to root for Goodbye Deponia, and there were times I wanted to, well, say goodbye to all of it. Deponia happens to miss almost all of my laugh bases with its self-aggrandizing jibs and jabs, but that doesn't mean its puzzles and gameplay mechanics fail. It's confident and consistent in its tone, even if its tone isn't laughable when it should be, which means its drama is off-kilter when it shouldn't be.

Train Simulator 2014 introduces new features and improvements for both beginner and veteran players of the series.

Flying Wild Hog has topped their previous game, Hard Reset, in nearly every respect with Shadow Warrior. A myriad of beautiful environments, crazy but balanced and innovative combat, and a smoother difficulty curve prove that the Polish studio has graphical, level and gameplay design talent to spare. Don’t miss this one.

Euro Truck Simulator 2: Going East! is a must-own expansion pack for fans of the simulation series. The added countries and cities provide players with more variety and challenge, both of which were lacking in the original game.

How To Survive is more than just a solid zombie role-playing game, it's also one of the best games of the year. With its mix of Diablo-esque hack and slash and dual-stick shooter action, 505 Games' newest Xbox Live Arcade game is a real surprise. It has a deep crafting system and a world you can't help but want to explore. How To Survive rewrites the book on zombie RPGs!

Not the iteration I would have gone with, but it's nice to see Worms make its debut on the PS Vita. Although it adds new weapons and locations, this updated port is still an ugly mess. With depressing levels and questionable gameplay tweaks, Worms Revolution Extreme still leaves me cold!

AiRace Speed may not seem like much, but for $4.99 the difficulty curve ensures you’re not just breezing through the game. Some of the turns seem incredibly sharp and will put your maneuvering skills to the test, but overall AiRace Speed is a fairly fun game. Just keep the 3D turned off.

Sonic Lost World has a great game hiding inside somewhere but is really held back by uneven game design. The game looks and sounds incredible and there are some really good ideas, but they aren't implemented cleanly enough to make a consistently great game. Lots of cheap deaths, questionable mechanics and a lack of focus keep this one from meeting its true potential.

Real Boxing has a lot of the core fundamentals in place. It has customizable fighters, training mini-games, a career mode and competent multiplayer online matches. Unfortunately, the whole thing is marred by simplistic controls, cheesy animation and computer opponents that don't put up much of a fight. The groundwork is done, but Real Boxing comes up short of the KO!

Aside from one major bug that should be patched soon, Star Wars Pinball is a good stop-gap for when you absolutely have to get some pinball gaming in while on the go. But it's not going to come close to matching a real table.

The newest installment in the “Europa Universalis” franchise is yet another evolutionary step forward. If you liked EU1 – EU3, you will want to pick this one up. If you are interested in grand strategy and you have not played it, you should pick up a copy. If only they could fix the combat system.

Skylanders Swap Force brings back a very familiar game with a few upgrades and a slug of new characters. Those that are huge fans of the franchise will be comfortable with this familiarity, while those that are just getting into the game for the first time will find a very fun and additive title.

Beyond: Two Souls is a beautiful and well-crafted interactive experience that is encumbered by some odd writing and questionable game-design decisions.

Urban Trial Freestyle provides a reasonable amount of fun at a reasonable price. It's easy to learn but hard to master, leading to a few hours of enjoyably challenging play.

Arma 3 refines and masters the military simulation genre.

Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl is a fairly solid game. While the early going can be a bit rough since money might be more spent on healing than buying new weapons and armor, the game’s mechanics and Story Mode’s story elements still make for a fairly sold game. This is one that newcomers and veterans alike should enjoy.

The story and dialog aren't anything new or interesting. In fact, there isn't much about Alien Rage: Unlimited that brings anything new to the table. But there's a lot about it that hits you right in the nostalgia.

I can happily say that even if you aren’t a fan of the series you will enjoy this game -- granted you enjoy Dynasty Warriors-style beat 'em ups.

With an emotional story and great sense of style, Rain should be one of this year's best games. Unfortunately it's marred by a story that ends far too soon and puzzles that are never challenging. Even with those problems, fans of ICO and stealth action will find a lot to like about Rain. At least for the three hours it lasts.

Much like last year, Out of the Park 2014 shows why it's one of the best baseball management simulators out there. Whether you want to take control of a pre-made team, play through any past season from as far back as 1871, or create your own league and rules, OOTP 14 gives you practically endless possibilities and options to manage a baseball team.

A rough single-player mode and unfriendly online matches mar an otherwise fun first-person shooter.

Newcomers and series veterans alike are sure to find plenty to enjoy in Rome II, which should become even better with future patch releases.

Rockstar Games has managed to exceed my expectations and create one of the best games of this generation.

With five new characters, improved online play and extra modes, Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate is a great deal at $40. Fans who own 2012's model may not like buying a brand new game, but everybody else needs to pick it up on the strength of the single-player story mode.

I can appreciate that Ms. Germinator trying to take a step in a different direction, but as a puzzle game it's just a little too plastic. But with all of the content and cross-platform saving, there are worse things you could spend $9.99 on.

Quell Memento is definitely worth remembering!

With a cleaned up presentation, deep gameplay modes, and new mechanics that bring a more realistic experience on the pitch, FIFA 14 definitely captures the beautiful game in all of its glory.

Join Oswald Mandus as he takes a harrowing journey through his creepy mansion. With its great presentation and well-written story, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs gets a lot right. Unfortunately, the game is marred by a lack of scares and puzzles that even a pig could solve.

Even if you haven't played any of the other Lost Planet games, Lost Planet 3 is a great game with a lot of action and a good story.

With so many great ideas in The Chaos Engine, it pains me to admit that I didn't have much fun. I love the world it creates, the diverse enemies and the science fiction story, but can't get past the punishing difficulty and cheap hits. This enhanced version needs a few more enhancements to be ready for the 21st century!

The Wii U is now home to the definitive version of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.

Kudos to Sega for the massive risk they took on releasing Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F out here. It's a great deal of fun for music game lovers, and features a ton of stuff that vocaloid fans will love.

With its great sense of humor, exciting narrative, cool art style and fun stage play antics, you would think that Foul Play would be at the top of everybody's must-buy list.

If you are looking for a challenge, then I would absolutely recommend giving Do Not Fall a try. There is a lot of trial and error but there is some satisfaction finally beating some of the later levels after dying a lot. If you are someone that has no patience, you may have fun with it but just know that you will be smashing your controller in no time.

PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate is a fun game in the tower defense genre, but if you’re new to the genre I’d recommend sticking with Casual difficulty for a while as you’d likely get overrun on Regular difficulty. Still, if you’re looking for a fun tower defense game, this is one worth picking up.

Outlast is an incredibly effective horror game with a satisfying story, good looks and good pacing. Unfortunately, the whole thing is nearly derailed by linear level designs and painfully simple gameplay. But many horror fans will ignore all that when they discover just how scary Outlast really is!

It may not be the WiiU system seller Nintendo was hoping for, but for the hardcore, The Wonderful 101 is certainly everything they could want on the struggling system.

Pixel Junk Monsters is as good as it has ever been. There is no arguing that this could be the best version of the game to date. Unfortunately, it is the best version of a game that we have already played multiple times. Newcomers to the franchise will find plenty to love, but returning players have seen all of this before.

The idea of a minuscule studio putting out a game that will potentially entrance millions with its easy accessibility and well-graduated complexity curve proves that there is still room in the market for the little guy. Race the Sun is not only a fun little addiction but hopefully also a harbinger of the return of boutique developers.

Neverwinter is one of the best free-to-play games this year, with its fluid combat, extensive amount of quests, and Foundry tool in which players can create their own adventures. Most importantly, premium points and items don't affect the game for those who choose to adventure on the free route. Role-playing fans owe themselves an extended journey to the world of Neverwinter.

With a new physics engine, revamped career mode, and an excellent presentation, NHL 14 proves to be a must buy for hockey fans around the world.

Despite its relatively short length, Guacamelee! Gold Edition is definitely worth your money. You'll enjoy every second of its cartoony style and sense of humor.

If you’re looking for a portable Trials game, Urban Trial Freestyle isn’t a bad alternative. However, the track designs could have been a little better, and I’m appalled at the lack of multiplayer. A motocross game is a perfect example of a game to play with friends, but apparently the developers didn’t think so.

An excellent adventure that is meant to get you quickly into the action and give you all of the amenities you would expect sitting at home in front of the big screen. The only modifications made to this adventure have been to ensure that it is all-action-all-the-time, and that is much appreciated when gaming on the go.

With only two buttons and 20-second rounds, DiveKick may sound too simple to be any fun. But that's where you're wrong. This is a game that will not only bring new fans to the genre, but also keep the hardcore fighting fans coming back for more. Throw in a memorable cast of characters and you have one of this year's best fighting games.

KickBeat is an interesting idea that really works well when you get the hang of it. It just takes a while to do that, so know that going into the experience.
