The attention-grabbing graphic effects and tight control scheme that allows Psi-Ops players to wreck super-powered havoc on the enemy tips the balance in making it a good purchase for action game fans, despite its lone boss battle bug and minor design problems.- Gaming Illustrated

SNK/NeoGeo fans will certainly welcome it into their permanent game library, but others are liable to be quickly frustrated by the difficulty and continue system.- Gaming Illustrated

Casual gamers may not be bothered by the difficulty bug or AI glitches, but diehard Thief fans would be better off with the PC version, both for definitely available patches and the offhand possibility of future mod missions.- Gaming Illustrated

Notwithstanding that we had to penalize the game for the disappointing graphics, the development team did an excellent job on creating a game that you can literally play for the next 2 years and never play the same character twice!- Gaming Illustrated

The PC highlights include the multiplayer version (which is definitely a lot of fun) and the much-much-much improved graphics (of course, you got to have the right tools for the job).- Gaming Illustrated

A good weekend rental for kids who liked the Shrek movies, but a poor purchase unless you have several young’n’s who game together. It captures the movie’s attitude and charm well enough, but glosses over too much of its game play potential.- Gaming Illustrated

The over-the-top style and theme of the game along with some of the ridiculous moves you can pull on an opponent give the game a tremendous amount of appeal to the gamers tired of the "ultra simulators" that we've seen for years on end.- Gaming Illustrated

Its tight game design, multiple chat tools, and nods to story and questing amid the combat-heavy game play make it a worthy choice for those new to or familiar with the MMORPG genre.- Gaming Illustrated

Superb in every way, technically, atmospherically, visually, sonically, it's got it all. One of the best games on the PC and one of the best games ever made full stop.- Gaming Illustrated

Overall, the presentation and gameplay of MLB 2005 combine to form one of the best baseball titles we've seen in years. This is a huge success story for 989 Sports.- Gaming Illustrated

Kids and the parents who shop for them or nostalgic Atari 2600 gamers will find it a decent purchase, but it’s recommended they rent it first as well to see if the unique control schemes aren’t too frustrating.- Gaming Illustrated

This leaves Nightshade’s appeal divided pretty evenly between those who will play at it, improve, and get better, and those who will quickly dismiss it as too hard. For those who stick with it to get high ratings in the stages, there’s a lot of value.- Gaming Illustrated

Its story and character development options kept me more involved than Champions’ linear quests, weak story, and more limited skill system. Still, it’s impossible to overlook DA2’s lack of online play or multitap options.- Gaming Illustrated
