I found the game too dark to really enjoy and the patience required just didn't grab my attention enough to really feel strongly about this title.- Gaming Illustrated

Offers a fantastic alternative to the traditional RTS formulae we have all trotted through a hundred times already. It delivers an extremely slick and complete package that should appeal to non-RTS fans as well as "C&C" veterans.- Gaming Illustrated

Overall, X-Men: The Official Game offers up some great backstory and art direction as a title, along with a great roster of voice actors which are the same big names as in the franchise of movies.- Gaming Illustrated

Its story and character development options kept me more involved than Champions’ linear quests, weak story, and more limited skill system. Still, it’s impossible to overlook DA2’s lack of online play or multitap options.- Gaming Illustrated

I was fascinated by the aforementioned RPG elements though and would like to have seen a more dynamic struggle, somewhere in-between the grandeur of "Total War" and the intimacy of "X-Com," where you could take your band of survivors to different areas of conflict with whatever equipment you can lay your hands on.- Gaming Illustrated

Notwithstanding that we had to penalize the game for the disappointing graphics, the development team did an excellent job on creating a game that you can literally play for the next 2 years and never play the same character twice!- Gaming Illustrated
