Red Barrels is a developer that I hope to see more from, and to my knowledge, there's nothing currently like Outlast that doesn't freely give in to cliches on a regular basis (I have yet to play either Amnesia title), and that's enough for me to call it worth playing.

Xillia is not as good as Symphonia or Vesperia, but it is most certainly worth the journey.

Here's the thing, though: as insular as One Piece 2 might be, it's also absurdly fun.

No, this is a game that's perfect for the Vita. The controls align exactly with the its strengths as a handheld, while its content is tailor-made for quick sessions here and there. To make it even more appealing, the game looks beautiful, its bright colours and cute designs really popping on the Vita's OLED screen. Add it all up, and you've got yourself a nice little time-waster.

With big budget games relatively few and far between on the PS Vita at the moment, even if you don't fancy yourself a FPS or Killzone fan, I would say that it's a game worth adding to your library. Now bring on Killzone: Shadow Fall.

There is plenty in NHL 14 that will satisfy each and every fan out there, and in the end that should be the ultimate goal.

Overall, Disney Infinity is an enjoyable and creative experience for the whole family. Is it perfect? Not at all. It's a little too unpolished as compared to a game like Skylanders Giants or LittleBigPlanet, and I’m not a fan of the pricing scheme for the retail add-ons.

I imagine the hardcore fans have already picked this up, but if you’re on the fence or curious, I’d strongly suggest the demo before diving in.

All in all, this is a pretty great entry in the series for Splinter Cell.

And, most importantly, there's this: The HD Adventures of Rotating Octopus Character may not be the cheapest or most original game, but it's still fun and well-made.

While Flashback HD isn’t completely broken, it’s the fact that they remade such a classic and screwed the pooch with it.

That's not here yet, though, which means that as of right now, KickBeat is one long slog of churning guitars, thundering drums and shouty vocals. If that doesn't turn you off of the game, this will: the gameplay isn't all that great yet, either. With time and an active community this could change, but until then, you'll probably want to hold off on picking this up.

This is the best version of Diablo III you can currently buy. If you were burned by the PC version of the game, but still found the combat and classes offered to be a lot of fun, then this is certainly worth checking out. Despite wasting an incredible amount of time with the PC version, I can see my addiction starting up all over again here, and I’m looking forward to seeing how far I can take my character with this new and improved loot system.

Presumably, this is something that was already known by everyone that's already played The Walking Dead on PS3/Xbox/PC/iOS, but if you haven't yet had a chance to see it for yourself, then you owe it to yourself to rectify your oversight and get it for your PS Vita immediately.

I don't want to overstate A-Men's problems, though. As I said, it's competently done, if a little forgettable. It's just that while that would've been great for a game at the Vita's launch, now — when there are literally about a dozen puzzle-platformers and platformers you should play first — it's not nearly enough.

The XCOM franchise deserves better than this, an experiment to take XCOM out of its comfort zone that clearly went awry.

Rayman Legends is an enjoyable and accessible experience with some fun social features wrapped up in gorgeous visuals and a lush soundtrack. If you have any love for side-scrolling platformers, 2D art or Rayman, jumping into Rayman Legends on any platform should be an absolute treat.

I will be the first to admit that Madden NFL 25 is not a perfect football game, but the overall package and satisfaction you will receive from game to game is so overwhelmingly genuine and good that you will be willing to overlook its faults and realize that this is just about as good as it gets for virtual football.

Ms. Germinator may be an improvement, but it's not that much of an improvement. Pick it up if you're new to the series, but otherwise, you might want to just keep on playing the first game, and hold off for the seemingly inevitable Super Germinator.

Overall this is a middle of the road experience out of Grasshopper Manufacturer, and I hope to see something bolder and better for their next effort.

Payday 2 is a game that I really enjoy when it’s working right, which is definitely more often than not at this point.

If you can embrace the silliness — and, more importantly, overlook lots and lots and lots of glaring flaws — then you'll find that Mars: War Logs is, in it's own way, more fun than you could ever imagine.

Superfrog HD may not be a great game, but it's certainly an above-average one. If you're in the mood for a platformer and you have a few extra dollars to spend (and you've already flown through the likes of Stealth Inc., Kung Fu Rabbit and Cloudberry Kingdom), then by all means, give it a shot.

There are elements to Charlie Murder that are certainly less unique than others, but as a whole this is one of the better RPG/brawler hybrids that I’ve ever played.

And for that, warts and all, Saints Row IV became my favorite gaming experience of 2013. Cynicism couldn’t hinder that.

Simply put, Divekick is a fighting game that you can — and should! — play even if you're not usually good at fighting games.

So I definitely think Guacamelee! is worth picking up if you haven’t done so yet. If you missed out on the PSN version, or hell, just want to play through the game again, it’s well worth checking out. This remains one of the more impressive independent releases this year, and certainly makes me curious to see what developer Drinkbox Studios is working on next.

While Thunder Wolves nails the action and non-stop devastation of an arcade shooter, control issues and lack of variety may hinder the overall experience.
