Far Cry is, in everyway, the best first-person shooter I've ever played. From the sublime, deeply textured and truly immersive graphics to meaningful audio and the type of artificial intelligence that makes you question whether you really are playing against a computer - Far Cry heralds a new age of FPS with a game that is nearly perfect in everyway.

Hands-down, the best game I've seen in years...The fantastic design, intuitive gameplay, spectacular graphics, inspired music and sound effects, sheer number of monsters and unique items, and the free Battle.net service put Diablo at a high level of excellence that future releases may never reach.

Certainly the best racing game out there for the Xbox, what it lacks in high level racing realism it more than makes up for in sheer fun.

Manages to meld a great story, serious action, and limitless gameplay to produce one of the best games of all time.

Not only is the control system comfortable, easy to use, and intuitive, but battling enemies is actually enjoyable. Heck, the more the better.

Personally, I expected to be unsatisfied with the cel-shading but was amazed at the textures and detail that is possible with this type of graphics design.

Without a doubt this is the best Star Wars game created to date. Even those not historically interested in RPGs or Star Wars shouldn't pass by this too quickly as it's rare to find a game executed with this level of quality.

Any game that's voiced by Christopher Walken, features 50 rap and heavy metal songs and sneaks in a playable Snoop Dogg has got to be oozing with cool. Not only is True Crime: Streets of LA truly hip, it's a blast to play, managing to blend the cinematic feel of an immersive movie with some of the best elements of shooting, driving and fighting games.

Simply put, this has been one of the harder reviews I’ve had to put together merely because it means I’ll have to stop playing to write it!...Truly, if you only buy one RTS this year, be sure to make it Conquest!

It is, without a doubt, the best single-player first-person shooter ever. Period. It is so good for so many reasons. But most importantly, it is fun. I mean really fun.

Without a doubt one of the best strategy games I’ve played. Activision has successfully combined full RTS and turn based genres in one game while maintaining the balance between them, putting any serious strategy fan to the test.

The fact that this so closely mirrors the world we find ourselves in today and the dangers we face, both in the Middle East and North Korea, instills both a sense of horror to the game and grudging respect for EA.

An excellent game that is well-balanced and addictively fun to play.

My new favorite game.

This is a fantastic title, and should score points both for Diablo-style dungeon crawlers as well as adventure/RPG hybrid lovers. With no load time between levels, it’s also good for those with shorter attention spans.

With a smooth control system, well designed game structure, and first-rate graphics, obvious time and effort was put into this game that will keep you occupied for some time.

It's as addictive as some illegal substances and 5 times more fun.

Perhaps one of the best features of AC is its ability to support a huge number of players on each “world.” They had nearly 3500 players at the end of beta testing and though that did tax the system, that’s still a large number to even fit on one world.

With so many different ways to play, tons of secrets to uncover, great graphics, a rocking soundtrack, and the ability to create your own skater and skate park, THPS2 is a high water mark for all 3D accelerated titles.

If you’re wearing body armor just before you start a new part of the plot, you’ll see your character wearing it in the cut-scene as well. I feel that this effect really adds to the suspension of disbelief in MGS2 and helps it be that much more impressive.

Up Your Arsenal has capitalized on what has made the series so beloved: incredible action, outrageous weapons, endearing and humorous characters, beautiful visuals, and everything in between that has made the series stand out in a crowded genre.

One of the least entertaining things in Half-Life 2 is the weaponry. With the exception of the gravity gun, this game features the same boring weaponry that we've seen time and time again.

It is far and away the greatest title of its kind ever to grace a console system and stands par, if not better, with any PC-based First Person Shooter.

Bland techno or rock riffs are common staples of fighting games, but SCII takes a much more elegant route and utilizes an orchestral soundtrack. Simply put, it works wonderfully. The voice acting is spot on as well.

With solid gameplay and well executed online features, it is safe to say Top Spin has supplanted "Virtua Tennis" as the tennis leader and the series will be around for some time.

I'm not kidding when I say this -- Rainbow Six is the most realistic, challenging, and fun game to play that was ever made.

The first fully mature real-time strategy title... This is a great game, builds on the best of both "Warcraft 2" and "Civ 2" (would you rather they ignored previous successful games as models?), and quite frankly is the best game to ever come out of Microsoft.

The graphics are nothing short of fantastic. Whether viewing the city from a bird’s eye perspective or up close and personal to homes, businesses, or traffic, the level of detail and finesse are obvious.

Some obvious effort was put into the AI with enemies doing more than just the given "stand and fire." Often you'll see them working as a team or running when out gunned.

I am going to go out on a limb here and say that this may very well be the best racing game of all time. Yes, you read that correctly.

Madden NFL 2005 is probably the only game that I think deserves to charge more than it does. It's a game that will give you an entire year of fun in single player, multiplayer, online and off.

The robust gameplay and detailed graphics of their latest creation make playing this game over and over again a sheer delight.

When you take the scope of the entire game into considerations, San Andreas is a real technical feat.

In my opinion this game ranks along side of "Metal Gear Solid" and "Deus Ex." This is a must buy for the avid gamer and even if you don’t care for adventure games it should be rented just to see how well the PS2 can pipe out graphics.

The detail on the buildings, armor and other characters is just mind blowing. Again, if there was every any question about the $60 price tag, it will be gone within the first 5 minutes of playing.

Both the graphics and audio seal the deal with stellar performances. From the environments, to the voice-overs, to the cutscenes, Jade Empire creates an entire experience that more then justifies its cost.

Truly the master of high-speed, high-fun racing. This is one of those games you run out to by a new system for.

Sega Sports has made a few tweaks and improvements that push WSB 2K3 into a class all by itself.

The gameplay is so enjoyable and engrossing.

With an improved interface, graphics, and other gameplay issues you’ll once again find yourself immersed trying to defend the Mothership and the home world.

Although it does not support multiplayer and is a bit short, this definitely one of the best action games this year.

Beyond any doubt, Red Faction has the best control, look, gameplay, and weapon variety I’ve ever seen in a console based FPS, and it definitely shows.

The only reason I did not give this game 100 out of 100, as great as it is, is that it is a sequel. It is not a totally new idea with groundbreaking creativity and originality. Don’t get me wrong, I love this game and it already has my vote for Game of the Year.

It is easily the best fighting game to ever be released on handheld and is every bit as enjoyable as its console and arcade counterparts.

The audio, however, really shines above all else, with a replicated soundtrack and absolutely superb voice acting by many of the original actors who starred in the film.

I think 989 Studios did a great job in creating a realistic environment. It is almost like you are playing your own interactive movie.

A game that not only redefines the stealth game genre, but a game that is destined to live on as a milestone in the evolution of gaming. What "Doom" did for the world of gaming in the early 90’s; Splinter Cell has done for the 00’s.

With solid gameplay, numerous options, and loads of extras, most will find their money well spent. Even the graphics and audio are impressive, leaving little to be desired.

Washes away all of the bad memories of the "Triple Play" series and has changed the way I will look at pitching, fielding and batting in baseball games going forward - this game is that innovative.

What really stands out however is the career mode which is loaded with possibilities. In addition to RPG elements like leveling up, there are plenty of cars and tracks to conquer and an inordinate amount of upgrading to be done both cosmetic and functional.

The atmosphere still feels tense, but you no longer feel like a helpless victim that has no hope of survival; rather, you feel like an action hero with all the right moves for a Hollywood summer blockbuster, big guns and all.

It's easy to pick up, great to look at, and has plenty of variation to keep it interesting.

A rich, immersive strategy title sure to please most dyed in the wool simulation and strategy fans. Highly Recommended to all, even those who may need more of a learning curve.

The product retains all the pluses, ease of use and beauty noted by my colleague reviewer a few years back, and a lot more. It's all here, the authenticity, controls, the dramatic vistas, and now there're products and passengers to give more substance to the experience of learning about, driving and collecting great engines and their rolling stock.

Finds the right balance between arcade and simulation gameplay while still delivering the classic Midway style of hockey and adding more depth to the gameplay.

Whether you're looking for a good adventure, or just a good laugh, beautiful animation, or great sound, there's something for everyone in this game. It is an excellent value, and will certainly become a gaming classic.

Online racing thrills like you’ve never seen before. Combine this with a race editor that allows you to reconfigure checkpoints for your own customized races, and what we have here is a game with replay value that flies over a ramp and off the charts.

The characters appear to have a depth I've never seen before.

The graphics are beautifully rendered, offering enough scenery to nearly distract from the utter chaos that makes up much of the game and the sound supports Dolby 5.1 which means a surround sound that actually helps you locate enemies in gameplay.

EA has struck absolute gold with this title.

Chaos Theory has an incredibly realistic quality that, when combined with the series' hallmark of incredible lighting and shadowing effects, will easily immerse you into Sam Fisher's world.

A worthy product with far more assets than shortcomings and a campaign game that will keep you playing.

Everything is gorgeous from the city streets to the cars themselves, it’s definitely eye candy (at least running at 1080i).

And if Hot Shots Golf FORE! is anything, it's addictive. With so many unlockables at your disposal, it’s almost guaranteed to suck away hours of your time, especially since the core gameplay is so solid.

The real highlight however is the improvement to the graphics engine. The scenery is improved along with general detail enhancements but the weather system is quite remarkable.

Although the gameplay hasn't changed much from the original, the updated graphics and the resolution of minor bugs make this a wonderfully enjoyable title.

The hidden ace among the collectible card games on the PS2.

With a plethora of additions, oodles of tweaks and plenty of game balancing, this is a must have expansion packs and likely one of the best to come along in years.
