Its story is really quite cookie cutter in its exposition, the characters aren’t interesting and lack the personality of the movie, and it’s all a little too simplistic. It’s more reminiscent of the stories that kids would be able to read via the junior tie-in novel of whatever the big Blockbuster of the summer happens to be — yet it’s even simpler than that. The interactive moments are a little too few and far between, meaning you’ll be on auto pilot a lot of the time.- Gamezebo

Feeling like a premium experience at a free-to-play price, Rogue Wizards is an excellent conversion of a PC based roguelike. Ideal for dipping into, it’ll scratch that itch on the commute while also fulfilling your needs when you want a longer session in the evening.- Gamezebo

Evolution was probably inevitable, and it plants the Birds’ flag in a genre that works well on mobile in a unique manner, but it also jettisons a lot of what many would probably expect, right down to the birds themselves. If you simply adore turn-based RPGs or are down to glide with this IP all the way until the end, you need to try it, but otherwise, it feels like more of a curiosity than an essential.- Gamezebo

Don’t get me wrong, there’s fun to be had here, but it’s fun that you’ve probably already had somewhere else. If the swords and sorcery stylings of Clash Royale put you off then you’re probably going to get along with Blitz Brigade: Rival Tactics a lot better. It’s got guns, lots of guns.- Gamezebo

It’s all fairly lightweight stuff, but that’s what works so well for Flipping Legend. It’s ideal for frantic but brief gaming sessions, and is sure to stick around on your phone for a while to come.- Gamezebo

Those looking for a walk down memory lane will love what’s on offer here. It’s a simple game in the purest sense, easily allowing you to dip in or out, and even juggle a sandwich alongside it thanks to its well designed one handed controls.- Gamezebo

If you’re a fan of the series, you’re going to enjoy everything that Epic Little War Game has to offer, but there’s not really enough going on here to entice new players. And the pace and size of the multiplayer means that older players might not stick around as long as they should. This probably isn’t the epic strategy game that mobile players have been waiting for. It’s good, but it’s not quite great. It’s worth trying out, but don’t set your expectations too high because you might be disappointed.- Gamezebo

Farming Simulator 18 is a good game when looked at as a standalone release. It’s very mellow, but also oddly addicting. It’s satisfying to earn enough money to start upgrading to better equipment, then start earning more money faster. If you’ve never played a Farming Simulator before, it’s a perfectly good place to jump in. However, if you’ve already spent hours upon hours growing and selling crops in earlier iterations, you might not find this to be much of an improvement.- Gamezebo

Art of Conquest’s strength lies in its ability to combine all of these in a way that feels fairly fresh. This is a game that’s ideal for those short bursts of gaming that mobile gaming can be so good at. Paying your way ahead is possible but it’s not necessary and you won’t feel too corralled into doing so. Simply playing at your own pace works well enough, ensuring that Art of Conquest is the kind of game that’s going to stick around on your phone for a while yet.- Gamezebo

Fowlst is the type of mobile game I’m always happy to see more of. It’s simple and accessible, but also nuanced and difficult. It’s meant to be played in short bursts, but also rewards players who stick with it over time. It’s this (not quite) perfect little bite-sized, self-contained piece of arcade-y fun.- Gamezebo

Dead Age isn’t for everyone. But rather than that being a flaw, it shows that the developers understand their place within the game landscape. There’s a need for the big games with universal appeal that everyone can talk about around the water cooler or with their friends on Facebook. There’s also a need for niche games that appeal to smaller but more dedicated audiences. If you fall into its niche, there’s a good chance this game will be a captivating experience.- Gamezebo

Just be warned when you go in that Yankai’s Peak is the sort of peak that will happily throw you off its summit, and you’ll be better placed to enjoy everything that this slightly mind-bending literal shape-shifter has to offer.- Gamezebo

The three different game modes, as well as the numerous challenges and achievements across them, offer tons of goals for completionists to strive for. And the gameplay in each is simply a fun, unique twist on auto-running platformers that is fast, fresh, and lovably hard to put down.- Gamezebo

If we gave subgrades for things like presentation and storytelling, Monument Valley 2 would get a perfect score and then some. It’s that good in those areas. It just falls a tad short of perfect in terms of an overall score because it is so short. Maybe the best way to sum it up is like this: as a work of art, it’s nearly unparalleled — but as a game, it’s just a bit less.- Gamezebo

SUP Multiplayer Racing isn’t going to be the most amazing racing game you’ll ever play. What it can offer, however, is a decent amount of fun with pretty cool customization. It’s free-to-play (with all that implies), so there isn’t anything to lose by giving it a go, even if it’s just a quick run down the track. Plus, with two button controls, it’s the kind of game the whole family can enjoy, from grandad to your favourite kindergartener.- Gamezebo

While some might be a little dismayed by the somewhat sexist approach to female characters and the clothes they wear, this is mostly a fighting game that rarely misses a beat. Finally, fighting game fans have the ideal game to take on their daily commute.- Gamezebo

What more could you want from a soccer game? Not much. Maybe a little finer control on the field, but that could be said about mobile sports games writ large. Perhaps a more detailed single-player league system or franchise mode, something that ties you into your created club a little more directly. But those are small gripes in the overall scheme of things.- Gamezebo

The menus may not look like much, but Jaipur is a great port of a fun game. The tutorial isn’t useless, the game itself is enjoyable, there are several different options when it comes to how you want to play. I can’t stress enough just how nice it is to play a board game conversion that actually understands how sometimes a basic 1:1 port just doesn’t cut it. This is good stuff, and you should play it if you like board games – digital or otherwise.- Gamezebo

For those who are just looking to kill time and don’t face Facebook integration issues, Family Feud Live! might be a good enough distraction to stick around for a couple weeks. However, it’s unlikely that this is going to be enough for the game to make its targets. Again, while there are worse casual games out there, Family Feud Live! just doesn’t live up to its potential.- Gamezebo

And while Magikarp Jump has more in common with a pet simulator than the series it’s spun off from, it still manages to emulate many of Pokémon’s recurring features. Getting progressively stronger to conquer the League Battles; catching new and different variations of Magikarp to add to your pattern dex; knowing when it’s time to move on to the next Pokémon: all of these contribute to the rewarding sense of growth and collection that should appeal to Pokémon fans and non-fans alike. If you enjoy these aspects of the series, event-based clicker gameplay, or the Magikarp Song that has been linked directly from the in-game TV, then you’ll almost certainly love Magikarp Jump.- Gamezebo

Iron Blade certainly looks good, and sometimes it plays brilliantly. But it slips into old mobile habits to quickly, and rather than embracing the violence that lies at its core, it turns it into a bit of a drudge.- Gamezebo

Five years ago that game would have been a revelation, but it’s not five years ago. Instead it feels like an also ran, albeit a very well put together one. It wears its influences too obviously on its sugary sleeves, and that leads to an experience that feels old before it’s even got going.- Gamezebo

Maybe the repetition inherent in Fastlane could work against it as well, but you’ll likely find yourself more motivated by ways of beating your longest run and caught up in everything else it has to offer. This is one of those mobile games you didn’t realize you really wanted, and more of those are always welcome.- Gamezebo

Boss battles are somewhat lacklustre, never quite fulfilling their potential. That’s a fairly small issue, however, in an otherwise great game. While you never knew that you needed this mash up in your life, it’ll be hard to forget about for a while to come. Arkanoid vs Space Invaders is a well pitched and highly enjoyable title. You’ll soon remember why the two respective games were so addictive back in the day.- Gamezebo

Zombie Gunship Survival offers some objectives to aim for, but there’s no real sense of progression. It just plods along in a bleak way that would probably be quite realistic, given the circumstances. That doesn’t make for the kind of game that’s going to lure you back at regular points. Shooting zombies might be fun for a brief time, but you’ll soon feel underpowered and overwhelmed. There are better shooters out there, and far better base building games too.- Gamezebo

The game looks cool, sounds like highly-concentrated fun, and if you really like simulation games or just the idea of coaching potentially the worst high school baseball team ever, High School High will likely be something you’ll enjoy. However if you’re not someone that can really get behind the slow-sim dimension of the game, you might want to skip this one.- Gamezebo

Overall, Beauty and the Beast Perfect Match is a passable game. It gets the job done, even if not particularly well. It may not be the best puzzle game on the market, but it’s far from the worst. If you’re looking to kill time while enjoying some of your favourite characters and doing a little interior design along the way, it’ll be right up your alley. For everyone else, it’s probably one you can skip without feeling like you’ve missed out.- Gamezebo

Ultimately, Beholder will appeal to folks who enjoy a slow-burning mystery, playing an anti-hero, dystopic storylines, or challenging moral dilemmas. It’s a narrative experience that tests the kind of person you are, for better or worse, and offers an engaging opportunity to dabble in ethical ambiguity. Sometimes it’s fun to be the bad guy, and sometimes, it’s fun just to watch.- Gamezebo

In fact, if you’re old enough to go all the way back to the beginning of the Power Rangers brand, you’ll probably enjoy Chroma Squad on a level that younger gamers might not appreciate. The nice part is that it’s of high enough quality that anyone can enjoy it, and the fact that Bandai Namco published it gives the game an extra special seal of approval. Get ready to be shouting “Lights, Camera, Chromatize!” at random moments and have other people looking at you strangely. Unless, of course, they’re playing too, in which case they might flash you a knowing smile.- Gamezebo
