It was mundane and unimaginative, technically competent but entirely unengaging – not disastrous but disappointing, both as a dungeon crawl and a puzzler.

So in the end, if you’re a big fan of the popular Cartoon Network TV show and just can’t get enough Adventure Time to fill up your day, then you’re sure to find something to love in Ski Safari: Adventure Time, as the game is incredibly faithful to the spirit and presentation of the source material.

All the charm in the world can’t make up for control issues, especially in a game where speed and precision are everything.

Overkill 3 seems to be the victim of an identity crisis, one where it wants to be something different than what it was, but is too afraid to try anything innovative.

For all its problems, Café 0 tells a compelling story. It’s certainly not the most dynamic piece of literature ever written (beware of tired old boob jokes), but if you’re into interactive novels and you’re curious to find out how a mermaid can actually drown, you’ll almost certainly want to play long enough to see the game’s true ending.

It’s got the looks to be the game that Thor deserves; it just still doesn’t nail the feel.

The fact of the matter is that while Zoo Story 2 is not a bad game. Truthfully, it is well presented for the type of game that it is, has a decent sound design, and its cute aesthetic works well for the demographic it is targeting.

Five years ago that game would have been a revelation, but it’s not five years ago. Instead it feels like an also ran, albeit a very well put together one. It wears its influences too obviously on its sugary sleeves, and that leads to an experience that feels old before it’s even got going.

Its drab exteriors, while well animated, give Battleborn Tap a dour feel. One that struggles to encourage you to be excited. Unlocking rewards for the console/PC game, though, is certainly tempting.

A cheap thrill. It takes away control from the player with automatic shooting and running, but it does so to good effect. When the screen fills with bullets, bad guys, buzzsaws and crumbling platforms, your adrenaline will begin to flow. But when you die -- which you will, a lot -- you won't become frustrated.

This increased focus on shorter and more intense play sessions may appeal to some, but it makes Black Widow: Recharged feel a less welcoming experience to Centipede: Recharged. Add in some minor problems such as the occasional bug and annoying screen decoration (that can block enemies approaching you) and you have a title that’s well presented but perhaps a tad overpriced.

It’s too bad Immortal Odyssey shuts you out so thoroughly, because its 2D visuals and emphasis on Eastern mythology really does help it stand out from other mobile-based MMORPGs.

I'm still playing Third Blade; I played it on the subway from home. However, there's something incredibly tasteless about the fact that they would use such underhanded freemium-style tactics in a paid game. That said, if you're looking for a fever-paced little game destined to keep you busy for at least a few days, Third Blade remains a worthy recipient of your money.

It's a shame, because there's so much depth waiting in Castlot if you're willing to endure such drudgery. I, however, could not: even with the advantage of finding an active league full of helpful players that eased me out of the week-long protection period and into the faction warfare that lies at the heart of Castlot.

It will get frustrating at times -- particularly in some of the larger levels -- but all in all it's an enjoyable take on the slingshot (or catapult, in this case) mechanic.

Word Smack has the appearance of a game that values substance over style. The trouble is that there's not a whole lot of substance here either.

Games Insight and innoWate obviously had some new ideas to throw into their city builder, but they just didn’t include enough of them or push them to the limit. In that respect, 2020: My Country ends up just like the real world when compared to the future of my younger self’s dreams: a bit of a letdown.

The clean aesthetic, soothing sounds, and repetitive (in a good way) nature of the game go hand in hand together and create a wholly enjoyable puzzler experience. For the low price of free, it's a few good hours of tapping and dragging, and plenty of eye-popping color.

Tap the Frog is one of those games where it feels like there's something missing, but it's hard to figure out what that is. It's not bad by any stretch of the imagination, but its appeal doesn't really last for more than about ten minutes at a time.

So like any good dystopian fiction, the game ends up packed with allegory, mirroring its main protagonist. Like Robo, No Red T-Shirts feels like a would-be wonder, caught in an explosion and left instead with haywire circuitry. A very hard lesson about the risks of greed and technology.

Whether it's the game for you depends on how much experience you already have in the field. For defense veterans, Wildlings is likely to disappoint and deflate in equal measure. For newcomers, however, Metamoki's bird battler is an alluring first step towards far weightier wars ahead.

A title that gets to the heart of every sci-fi fan in its tone, presentation, and storytelling. It's fun, funny, action-packed, and has the good sense to not take its own lore too seriously.

Lewis Carroll's strength with Alice in Wonderland was weaving disparate, sometimes unbelievable threads into a cohesive whole; a story that you could get behind regardless of disbelief of any one individual element. Sadly, A Wonderland Story suffers from just the opposite affliction, planting the seeds of a compelling universe, but forgetting to water them. Die hard fans of the mythos may want to pick this up to tinker around with a clever take on a colorful world, but after a short amount of time, many others will feel like (Jabber) walking away.

Heroes of Might and Magic III will no doubt remain a beloved strategy game on the PC, but it feels destined to conjure up thoughts of what could have been as a mobile game.
