Much to our delight, Faily Tumbler isn’t just a third take on the exact same experience. It’s similar enough that fans will be delighted by what’s on offer, but fresh enough to ensure they won’t start to tire of the Faily family’s frequent fumbles.

If you’re a fan of the original, or if you’ve never even heard of Lode Runner before, this is a brilliant and intelligent platformer that deserves to be played by as many people as possible.

Though the title of the game is perhaps a bit deceptive, Modern War is still a great social gaming option for folks who dig war themes. The game can be a little slow going until you've built up a base that yields a steady cash flow, and the multiplayer is pretty lackluster. But in short spurts, Modern War is a fun way to pass the time.

There seems like some nice extended play value, as there are villains beyond those starring in the movie, and arena mode and regular events.

Odd applications of microtransactions aside, Treasure Arm is a great puzzle game, made all the better by its free price point. It's a fun new take on pocket puzzlers, and has enough depth to keep you going for a while. Just keep it away from your checkbook.

City Conquest stands as proof that the tower defense genre hasn't said its last word. It feels a little too ambitious at times (the RTS elements in particular sometimes suffer from a mild tacked-on feeling), but its beauty lies in the fact that it works in spite of that. If you're a fan of either tower defense or real-time strategy games, City Conquest is worth a look-particularly if you bring along a friend.

When Soul Knight by Zeyang Li and Chilly Room was released on Android and iOS last month, it almost slipped under our radar — but this beautiful little arcade-style quasi-roguelike shooter deserves your full attention. There’s very little in the way of narrative depth and backstory at play here – get some stones, defeat some bad guys – and it’s a good thing. It’s all about the action, and there’s lots of it with every corner turned. Unlike a lot of games in the growing roguelike category, Soul Knight’s simple arcade gameplay will appeal to those who might never play another dungeon crawler or an RPG in their lives.

Skyforce Unite! is absolutely worth sticking with, though. Once all of the interlocking systems begin to make sense it becomes every bit as habit-forming as the likes of Game Dev Story, Mega Mall Story, Dungeon Village, and so on.

Playmobil Pirates is proof that it's possible to make a mobile game that appeals to younger gamers without dumbing it down, as well as a kid-oriented game that might also get some adults to try it. At the very least, parents shouldn't be too distraught about spending some time in the islands during the lengthy quest to bring Blackbeard to justice.

FallDown! 2 is a refreshingly simple alternative to free apps out there that offers pick-up-and-play challenge, neon colors, customizable backgrounds, and way more than that old calculator app used to. Pick it up for a nice change in pace.

This isn’t a game you can blitz through over a weekend, but it is ideal for someone with a busy life who still wants to uncover bits of story. For that reason, Mr. Robot:1.51exfiltrati0n won’t be for everyone.

Angry Birds Star Wars II is more of Angry Birds Star Wars, which, in turn, is more of Angry Birds cross-bred with Angry Birds Space. If that sounds appealing to you, then pick up Angry Birds Star Wars II with all speed.

It's amazing how Toca Boca continue to create things that manage to make everyday activities vastly entertaining, but whatever magic dust their developers sprinkle into the code, Toca Hair Salon 2 has it in abundance.

I still don’t think that Episode 4 quite measures up to the very first, and like Episodes 2 and 3, it feels rather short, but it makes for a satisfying conclusion to an interesting story.

The problem is that these changes, like many others in Across Age 2, are the exception rather than the rule. Much of the game is Across Age DX, tweaked slightly and with new dungeons.

As with other Gamebrain offerings, voi is a reprieve from the bloated, garish, aggressive mobile games with which we are constantly bombarded. voi reveals a mastery of restraint and simplicity while also showing how complex the relationship between something and nothing can actually be.

It's nothing new in any real sense, but at the same time it's still fun to gather and upgrade new cards. There's no real action to speak of, but that frees players up to simply enjoy the aesthetics and flashy effects. I think I'd recommend it to people who are unfamiliar with Puzzle and Dragons-type experiences, but anyone who's already well versed in the mechanics might want to pass.

There’s nothing wrong with an homage as long as it’s a good one, and Blast Zone! resembles that description in just about every important way. Play it once and I almost guarantee you’ll be doing more bloodless bombing than you originally planned.

Dark Parables: Ballad of Rapunzel is well-built and all around entertaining. The visuals are richly detailed, the voice acting and animations smooth and engaging, and the puzzles keep you interested without being overly obtuse. The one drawback actually stems from the game’s artwork. With such detailed objects and set pieces, it can be tough to pick out individual items at a glance.

Dig! is an intriguing little arcade game that takes a seemingly "boring" idea and spins it into a decent little platformer/digging adventure that requires intelligent tactics and planning for success. If you're a Dig Dug or Qix fan, you'll find plenty to like here.

Aside from some slight control issues and an annoying theme song, Burn The Rope has just about everything you could ask for when it comes to pick-up-and-play puzzle games. It's cute, simple to play, and full of plenty of challenging stages. And it's the only way to burn ants without looking like you're crazy.

It's easy to let Mini Motor Racing get its hooks into you, since it comes with quality from so many places at once. It's a well polished racer with fantastic visuals, lots of varied tracks and cars, multiple control options to please all comers and oozes style. Minor issues keep it from being perfect, sure, but this one is an easy one to give two thumbs up.
