A fantastic game for the iOS platform. It is refreshingly different than most of the other puzzle titles currently on the market, and challenging at that. Moreover, with 80 or so levels, there is plenty of longevity to be had. Visually pleasing, and gratifying in almost every way, Dekovir's crystal-destroying app is one that comes highly recommended.

Despite its technical hiccups and the odd menu design, Last Knight is still a fantastic romp through a vibrant medieval kingdom, with eye-popping visuals, incredible challenges, and just all-around fun. If this is the future of endless runner games, then sign me up, because I'm on my way to buy a new pair of running shoes.

Swapping out zombies for vampires and adding some particularly impressive visuals to the mix, Fangz is an exciting release during a rather dull week.

Maestria is a game in the eye of the storm that is the mobile games industry. While most other mobile games feature a flurry of in-app purchases, flashy rewards, and larger-than-life personalities crammed into tiny characters, Maestria is there, a little off to the side, gently ringing its bells, giving you a break from all the bluster roaring by.

All said, Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse for mobile was a very pleasant surprise. It’s not perfect, but it comes close enough, and may even be a little better than its console brethren in some regards.

If it wasn't for the lack of local multiplayer, Ticket to Ride would easily take the crown of best iOS board game from Carcassonne. Without it though, Ticket to Ride drops from brilliantly perfect to only damned-near brilliantly perfect.

Minor eyestrain aside, I’ve been having a great time with The Guild of Dungeoneering. It’s a very clever combination of several individual elements that I’d have enjoyed on their own. And it can be as brutal as it is accessible. That’s a good thing.

It must be said that there’s some loss of nostalgia in Sorcery! 3, however. It’s an amazing game that you absolutely must play, but it’s much less of a gamebook than similar apps are.

Has managed to turn the concept into something that's both enjoyable and downright addictive. It's an absurdly hard, unforgiving game, but that's a big part of what makes it so fun.

Even if you haven't been bitten by The Walking Dead phenomenon yet (horrible pun fully intended), if you like strategy games, you're going to want to give this one some of your time.

Overall, if you’re new to the series, are running a newer device, and want more control over the whole dynasty building experience, MLB Perfect Inning Live will blow MLB Tap Sports Baseball 2017 out of the water. If you’re a long-term player, the transfer issue might be enough to switch your allegiance alone. Yet, even then, it’s hard to argue that MLB Perfect Inning Live doesn’t offer a more realistic experience tailor-made for MLB fans on the go. For those that stick with it, it’ll likely be a great accompaniment from now until the last pitch of the World Series.

While Card King: Dragon Wars may lack in avatar customization, and it features all the typical free-to-play gimmicks, it’s still a fantastic game that’s filled with lively characters and critters while offering an engaging, strategic gameplay experience.

Overall, CATS: Crash Arena Turbo Stars offers a great package. It looks great, it’s entertaining, and even the music is pleasant enough to keep you from rushing to mute. You don’t have to be a cat person to enjoy CATS: Crash Arena Turbo Stars; you just have to enjoy tinkering (or betting) and be willing to trust your feline driver.

If bringing the law to the denizens of an ultra-violent future city isn't your thing, Countdown Sector 106 probably isn't the gamebook for you. For everyone else, this is an absolute blast to read. With their latest release, Tin Man Games have proven that they can handle existing characters just as well as they do heroes of their own creation.

Yes, it’s still beset by the repetitive curse of most of this type of game, but thanks to the more interactive combat elements, that malaise is going to take an awful lot longer to suck the fun out of proceedings.

Dead Venture is a brash and consuming mobile game that gets the balance between challenge and progression just right. Throw in a gorgeous blocky art style and a vast amount of things to do and you’re left with the sort of game that smartphones were made for.

Subsurface Circular is a premium game, priced at $4.99USD on the App Store. Though the developers kept the game’s length in mind when pricing, it’s still easy to argue that the game is quite a steal. Less than half the cost of a movie ticket while providing at least as much entertainment, it’ll be one of the best fivers you’ll spend all year.

Sometimes, when I'm playing Irrupt, the energetic chiptune soundtrack will wash over me and I'll get lost in a non-existent story. Like a 70s sci-fi TV show soundtrack by way of early 90s videogames, the music evokes shades of an epic salvage mission, or crucial repair operation. Then, suddenly, I remember: it's just a simple game about tapping on astronauts. A simple, beautiful game.

Duet is a fantastic, brain-melting ditty of an iOS game. It's a hypnotic, "try, try again" love song that you just won't be able to bring yourself to feel hatred towards, despite the numerous splattered deaths that will tear at your heart. This is essential mobile gaming.
