Glowfish is aquatic exploration nirvana. It's got absolutely everything going for it. It plays like a dream, looks and sounds like a dream, and fills you with a real sense of wonder. There's no other word for the whole package other than "magical." Glowfish is a must have for every single iPad owner.

Just feels like a me-too kind of game. There's a lot to do, and dedicated gamers will be able to play for a long time. But with so many other games out there, Happy Theme Park ends up being an above-average social game that needs more polish and less spam to bring it to the next level.

The biggest beef that I have with SuperRope is the fact that the store is expensive.

Clean interface and menu design, engaging gameplay and a wealth of multiplayer options make sure you'll always have someone to play against.

The presentation is still top notch, the quotes are still witty, and the overall experience is still fun. There's nothing revolutionary here, and if you've already grown tired of the formula there's nothing in Doodle Farm that's going to change your mind – but the rest of us will be happy we picked up our pitchfork and overalls to spend a day down on the farm.

About exactly what you'd expect from a mobile version of Pet Society. It offers up the same great gameplay and charming sense of style, only on a smaller scale. But while the game overall feels very familiar, the new scuba diving mode and tropical theme help to give it a personality of its own.

While Allied Star Police lasts, it's a lot of crazy, fast, fun. Unfortunately, it's not nearly as long as it could be, though there's something to be said for a game that keeps players begging for more rather than giving them too much content to play through. But, more importantly, this is one of those games that will make anybody who plays it feel good.

While the setup is truly bizarre (especially having been so well-realized in the parking lot scenario) the puzzles are what matters here, and in that respect, Tomb Slider delivers.

The Marbians is a wonderful little title for the iPhone. It's full of charm and fun, and the puzzles is delightfully challenging. Not only that, but it's incredibly easy to get into and then put down.

How much fun you'll have with Avalon Wars really depends on what type of player you are. If a game like Haypi Kingdom makes you doze off, there's nothing all that different on offer here, aside from the theme. But that doesn't mean that the experience isn't deep, and if you're willing to delve into the game's world of menus and statistics it can prove quite addictive.

Is Extreme Road Trip a fairly simple offering? Sure. Kind of a one trick pony? Probably. But the one trick Extreme Road Trip pulls off is an incredibly satisfying one.

Bizango Blast is one of those games that feels like it should be a lot better than it is. Basically, the problems can be explained with these three questions (especially the last one). Does it have a cool premise? Absolutely. Is it good-looking? Not really. Is it fun to play? God, no.

Just as with big budget console releases before it, Desert Quest serves as the perfect warning that all the flashy looks in the world can be incredibly deceiving.

For the price, and given the great changes to the genre it makes, Aces 3D Brick Breaker is a very fun arcade block-breaker title. It manages to do some very different things, gives you enough incentive to keep going, and surprises you along the way.

Okay, it's an arcade game, and it's pretty well put together. But Shoot the Birds just rubs me the wrong way. And with not much to do in the long run, it's just not the easiest game to recommend.

One of those games that sounds like it might be stupid but winds up being stupidly fun. It's adorable and strange and just violent enough to be goofily awesome.

Fans of previous Pocket Gems releases are probably going to like what's available here, but with so little to keep players engaged, it's just too thin an offering to get really excited about.

It may not break any new ground, but Hospital Story is a good deal of fun that's hard to put down thanks to how well it pulls off each of its parts. As a free download, it's hard to lose with a game this fun.

Plays remarkably like its predecessor, only scaled back. The gameplay is nearly identical, as are the bright and colorful visuals (though the characters look a bit jagged at times).

With a ton of variety in the levels and the devilish complexity offered, puzzle game fans should naturally be drawn to the Demolition Master 3D app like a moth to a flame. Word of caution to the more casual of you out there though – while blowing stuff up is always a good time, the game gets pretty hard and requires a skilled, patient hand to complete.

Rail Maze, with over 100 levels and thousands of downloads, certainly seems to be one of the hotter casual games out there at the moment. If you're looking for a puzzle game that puts you under pressure and also allows for some creativity on your part, you'll want to be hopping on this train.

While there are plenty of cute mogas to collect and a number of islands to explore, the simplified combat and linear progression mean that it's a game that doesn't offer as much depth as Pokemon. But, at the same time, it provides a rich and colorful world to explore and plenty of moga to collect, which is all any budding monster trainer can really ask for.

If Smurfs' Grabber really were an arcade game, it would be the only machine without a line.

Galcon Fusion is a cleanly presented, fast-paced strategy game with solid controls, but the simplicity might only hold your attention for a few rounds or so. If subjugating the universe was this user-friendly in real life, we'd see a new interplanetary honcho weekly, and that could just get downright exhausting.

The central issue with Punch a Hole is that it's far too easy for far too long, and when the difficulty does ramp up it's entirely too inconsistent.

As a point and click adventure game, Dead Escape is actually pretty entertaining. But unfortunately it's been wrapped up with unpolished elements that really detract from the experience. Clunky controls, the inability to look around, and terrible voice acting just serve to poison the underlying game, taking it from a game that fans of the genre should check out to one of caution.

Less a game about running a pet shop than it is about taking care of the monsters that dwell within. But that's just fine with us. There are few better mobile pet simulators out there, and there are even fewer that give you the pleasure of raising a slimy one-eyed octopus.

Though it's pretty to look at, it's ultimately just another shallow money trap mobile gamers should steer clear of.

Castle Clout is technically fine, but it's not really all that much fun to play.

I'm sure there's a large section of folks who are sick of the "perturbed, feathered flight-takers" and might want to give something else a try. To tell the truth, Bouncy Mouse runs much better than almost every other game of its ilk once you remove the ads. It's a slick little package that will satisfy most of you who give it a try, even if for only a little while.

Just be prepared to part with some very cute little pigs.

Other people who are not quite so fond of horses might find that the game falls short in terms of deep gameplay. However, there isn't much out there in terms of horse games on the App Store, and My Horse is a beautifully detailed and welcomed addition that will more than appeal to its targeted horse loving demographic.

It's an uncomfortable spot to be in, right between the Sudoku and the Rush.

An excellent follow-up to an already-great game. It's incredibly fun and goofy, the new gameplay modes add a lot of extra enjoyment, and things are even more stylish than before. If there were an online multiplayer mode this would pretty much be perfect, but even without it, this game is still totally worth owning.

The gameplay is just challenging enough to be satisfying, and is definitely recommendable to previous fans of the franchise.

Unnyhog offers a number of great ideas with Watee such as unique items and item combination. Unfortunately the execution is of low quality, and that attempt to be different has led to unnecessary and boring timing levels and poor instruction.

But what really bugs me is that, in spite of the no reason at all inclusion of the pigs, there's nothing about this game that makes it a curling game. It's like calling a game Dog Baseball and then load up a bad version of Ticket to Ride with a baseball diamond in the background.

Overall I did enjoy Hipsta Chez, even if I absolutely abhor the name and would have a hard time telling a friend to check it out less the words get stuck in my throat. It's not an easy game, even on normal, but rewards those with patience and some chess skill. Getting those pieces to work in harmony is really key to getting any forward progress in the game.

Aside from the small frustrations -- like the inability to rotate objects and the sparse social features -- Funpark Friends' main crime is a lack of imagination.

The contents of Penguin Patrol are above average with optional, extra challenges and creative level design. Nonetheless, the core play feels very easy at times, and Grab Games just doesn't do anything terribly special with the app's design. It looks cute, but nothing stands out.

If you're looking for a charming theme park game that you can check in on a few seconds at a time each day, Dream Park delivers everything you're after. If you were hoping for something a little meatier though, this ride may not be worth lining up for.

Ultimately, it's just confusing.

Individually I'm not sure I'd consider any single game in this package to be worthy of a 99 cent purchase – but collectively, and as part of a free app? It's hard to not recommend Addicting Games. So long as they keep bringing the good with the bad, it's entirely possible that Addicting Games will stay on your phone for a long time.

2 Broke Girls works just well enough to be a tall, cheap gas station latte of a game. It's not exactly what you want, but the price is right and it's easy to check out without having to go too far out of your way for it.

An interesting new location-based RPG that is certainly worth trying if you are a fan of zombies.

As enjoyable as the premise is, the gameplay isn't quite as compelling. It has its moments, and many are quite funny, but the game is in dire need of some added variety.

There isn't quite enough here that will keep even fantasy nerds like myself hooked for very long. It gives the illusion of depth through a good number of tasks to manage, without any actual strategy behind it. As it stands, it's worth a casual glance to see what it has to offer (and the sheer amount of content on offer is impressive), but don't expect to inhabit Westmore for more than a day or two before losing interest.

Despite the game's numerous qualms, it is presented very well, and has a wonderfully simplistic and cartoonish art style to it.

We love to see Jeff Matsuda's artwork grace our video game world, but with the game beneath that art being so subpar, Age of Monsters becomes a difficult title to recommend.

At its core, there is not a whole lot on offer gameplay wise. You're essentially playing slots over top of some basic RPG elements. That being said, there are much worst things to spend your money on. If you're looking for a unique way to waste a couple minutes at a time, King Cashing will do just fine.

Keeping in mind that Pirates of the Caribbean: Master of the Seas is free, it's a great companion to the recent DVD release. The "quests" are bit dull, but the mixture of duels, island building, and leveling up make for a pleasing time waster. It's an app worthy of anyone's mobile device, but Pirates fans should be especially pleased.

Hamster Cannon looks and sounds pretty cute, but it doesn't really break the mold. The hamsters are lovely, with cartoon-like appearances and ridiculous one-liners. But aside from the hamsters, the graphics are kind of generic, with plain backgrounds and unremarkable environmental objects.

Santa's Village has some plusses, but its core play is something that has been done to death time and time again. It is nice to build a village in a new artistic style (made even better by the 3D), but the expiration of toys when players don't return in time is a significant negative.

Zombie Cookin' had a lot of promise, it's just unfortunate that it fell into the same old traps and mistakes a lot of games like it make. If you want to make dishes on your iPhone or iPad, may I suggest Cooking Mama instead?

It looks pleasant enough, and has a surprisingly beautiful soundtrack, but the game itself is one you've seen many times before, only with new features that aren't all that compelling.

There are a lot of reasons not to like Dark Fury, from its shoddy production values to its crummy advertising to its underwhelming automatic gameplay. But the worst thing about the game is how it takes such a promising premise -of seeing an RPG from the villainous army's perspective- and utterly wastes it.

A well-implemented game that's entertaining for about 20 or 30 minutes. After that, most players are going to figure out how to rapidly make matches without thinking too hard about the math involved.

The music is perfectly tied to the DJ vibe, and the timing is spot on. I've really no complaints at all. Skillz: The DJ Game is one of the better rhythm games I've had the good fortune of playing.

Fantasy Safari certainly delivers on its title, letting you build a safari full of all sorts of fantasy creatures. Unfortunately the game isn't quite as fantastic. Aside from its unique creatures, Fantasy Safari is a terribly standard social zoo tycoon game that offers little new or especially interesting. The creatures are fun, but they don't elevate Fantasy Safari out the realm of simply being an average game.

A game that still needs some fixes to truly be enjoyable. Once controls work better, much of the frustration and perhaps even the slow pacing moments (as better control means players can move more quickly) will likely dissolve.

A game that, by moral imperative, should be passed on.

Even with the great presentation and nice twist on combat, though, the gameplay just doesn't feel as inspired as it should – especially for a spin-off that exists in the shadow of Mafia Wars 2. At its core, Shakedown offers very little that you haven't seen before.

Simply put, the game isn't terribly original.

Exquisite. Offering quick sessions, intuitive gameplay, and fast-paced, challenging fun, it's the epitome of what a mobile game should be. And better yet, it's free.

If you are one that likes history and learning, Road Trippin' is worth looking at. If not, you'll probably be quite bored.

If you used to love zoo games but grew tired of their repetitive nature long ago, Dream Zoo offers plenty of reason to get you feeding the giraffes again.

By making Holidaytown a standalone app rather than an update to the existing Hometown, Zynga was able to re-envision their entire offering with a Christmas twist without upsetting the status quo.

Heroic Legends, for all its simplicity, is still an oddly enjoyable companion. I hesitate to call it a complete game, but as a sort of virtual pet with RPG trappings, it's something mobile gamers might still want to take a look at. The price is right, and the community seems to be thriving.

If Toy Village is guilty of anything as a game, it's guilty of not being very interesting.

When Zynga released Mafia Wars 2 it felt significantly more modern than its predecessor. Mafia Farm, by comparison, feels ancient.

Whether you're a fan of the game and are always in want of an opponent, or you've never played and want a cheaper way to learn it and check it out, it's hard to beat this version. Kudos to Codito – they're quickly proving themselves to be among the masters of digital board game adaptations.

Between the interface issues and the unusual approach to gameplay, I can't bring myself to give Girl With a Heart Of a full-on recommendation.

Aside from the lack of attention to detail, NFL Pro 2012 is more an indictment on the platform itself rather than the ability of the developers. The freemium model, however, makes the game as vanilla as it is broken.

A quality game from a play stand point, but it doesn't offer anything truly new.

Though the title of the game is perhaps a bit deceptive, Modern War is still a great social gaming option for folks who dig war themes. The game can be a little slow going until you've built up a base that yields a steady cash flow, and the multiplayer is pretty lackluster. But in short spurts, Modern War is a fun way to pass the time.

With its paltry presentation and discombobulated gameplay, Last War not only fails to deliver an entertaining strategy adventure, it suggests that Gamevil may be having a bit of an identity crisis.

I can honestly say I was saddened by this release, as a simple port of the original would have been much better. Instead, this release is a stain on an otherwise great classic game. Let's just hope that if RollerCoaster Tycoon ever comes to the App Store, it'll receive more care than Theme Park did.

The game begs for greater strategy components in the battle system, or perhaps a means to customize the stats of one's avatar better. All in all though, the game is different than the majority of freemium releases and is still enjoyable to play, and is certainly worth checking out.

The biggest complaint I can level against Space Frontier is more about what it's not rather than what it is. It would have been much more enjoyable if I was playing "Space City", where I was building up and eventually managing a thriving space metropolis. However, for what Space Frontier is; a quest-based game with some elements of city-building, it is not a half bad way to spend a couple of hours.

Another solid, yet standard, game from TeamLava. It has all the fixings of its predecessors and as such is likely a game that will do very well. If nothing else, it offers the same type of play that its fans have come to know and love and does so in a new visual style. In fact, Pet Shop Story tends to look a lot better than the past games in terms of overall art quality and animation (even if many of the avatar assets are reused constantly). All that said, if you are a fan of the TeamLava Story games, then this is an app you'll probably enjoy as well.

ForestVille looks great and plays well enough, but it's not the "Ville" game many of us were hoping for.

Along with the classic mechanics that made the first game popular, the new rendition comes with several new modes to offer both veterans and newcomers greater variety and challenge. More polished and expansive than the original, Paper Toss 2.0 is a great new free game for wasting time and procrastinating real work.

Overall, Tap Zoo 2: World Tour is really more an official upgrade to Tap Zoo rather than a true sequel. Other than a few new features, the core play isn't different at all and the visuals, though higher quality, are still relatively similar. That said, the design is still solid, but the game loses points with its collection of bugs.

As tempting as "side-scrolling mech warrior action" sounds, it's probably best if you give iDamaged a wide berth. The gameplay isn't intuitive, the mechanics are way too frustrating, and the inability to aim behind you is maddening. Just fire up Robotech on Netflix Instant instead. Trust me, you'll have a much better time.

Perhaps in the right hands, Stardom: The A-List would be enjoyable, but for most of the game, nothing happens. All it really consists of is moving about to different locations and tapping objects the game says players can tap.

Tiny Places is a fine, if unoriginal take on a fairly well-worn mobile genre. There's a nice visual polish to the package, but ultimately, this feels like ground we've tread countless times before.

The fact of the matter is that while Zoo Story 2 is not a bad game. Truthfully, it is well presented for the type of game that it is, has a decent sound design, and its cute aesthetic works well for the demographic it is targeting.

Unfortunately for Yeti Town, the only substantial difference between it and Facebook's Triple Town is the platform it's on. Otherwise it's the exact same game, only this time with snow.

It's a well produced narrative filled with interesting dialogue options that really makes you feel like you're investigating.

Azarashi isn't bad for what it is, but ends up feeling like a mini-game that belongs in a larger game rather than a standalone game itself.

Ends up feeling average in every respect.

Tiki Kart 3D is pretty close to being a really fun, nearly must-have game for your smartphone. If some of the problems I addressed above were to be patched, than I'd definitely be willing to sing the game's praises from on high.

Charadium II is fun in the right hands. At worst, it can be difficult to draw, but the overall concept is as simple and solid as it was in the original.

But it's frustrating to know that this management game loses its sheen once you reach a point where you feel like you should either spend money or delete the app.

It's funny to me that a genre like text adventure could be resurrected and brought to a full color tablet device like the iPad or iPhone. Adding the high-res graphics and fantastic music/sound add a lot to the game, and make it much easier to feel the theme like a weight around your neck than back in the day when it was all just text. ZDay Survival Simulator may not hold your attention for more than a few sittings, but what's there is fantastic and deserves to be seen.

While the game has a very respectable amount of content included, the underlying game is simply not good enough to justify dropping cash on. You'll get some neat puzzles, but you'll have to work for the solutions-not because you do not understand what needs to be done, but rather you aren't given enough feedback from the game to properly complete the levels with any sort of accuracy. The premise is fine, but the execution is flawed.

By and large, Planet Buster is incredibly well done. It looks and sounds great, the gameplay is addictive and fast-paced, and the general setting is charmingly ridiculous. Pick this up: You won't be sorry you did.

Sweet Shop isn't a bad game, but it's absolutely nothing original.
