It might not be the deepest experience, but for a shot of pure action, you can't go wrong. And yes, apparently Rockstar can revive two fallen genres with an almighty kiss of life and in doing so prove once again that they have the Midas touch.

Once again, the developers have provided an excellent game, thoroughly deserving of your time and attention.

Episode 2 is an experience that is completely different to anything you can find on the PS3, if you've already bought Episode 1 then there's no doubt you'll pick this up, if you haven't, then now is the perfect time.

All in all, Fahrenheit tries hard to be that truly interactive story game we've always wanted, but at some point collapses under its own weight, proving that we're not at that stage just yet.

The length may be an issue to some, but while it lasts The Mindgate Conspiracy is immensely enjoyable, and in retrospect ideally pitched.

Authentically real, solidly believable, full of content and supported by a dedicated online community; when handled with care, Ghost Recon 2 hits its target with precision.

Putting an estimate on how many hours you would need to devote to the game to complete everything is both pointless and a little scary to imagine, but we dare say that someone out there in a very dimly lit room will be attempting it. Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories is a joy to behold, you can dip into it for a short time or lose several years of your life.

Oddworld. Same as it ever was... Well no, it is better. Better than ever.

As an action-shooter on the most basic level, there's little to fault, making for a better game of soldiers than you might expect considering the developmental angst.

The charm and fun present are not easily found elsewhere and it’s great to see something which sets itself out as a pure gaming experience without the pretentious overtures that many bigger budget games now have. It’s both something old and something new and you should stop reading now and go and buy it.

New Super Mario Bros. U shows that the old 2D Mario still has the magic when the property is treated with care and affection.

PixelJunk Monsters: Ultimate HD is, at the end of the day, a game that won’t be to everyone’s tastes. If you have played every version of the series before this, you may find the challenge a little lacking, as you would have seen all the levels before. You do need to be a fan of the Tower Defense genre as there is nothing new on offer, but even with a passing interest in the genre, you will find this game a rewarding challenge from start to finish.

Full Spectrum Warrior ultimately delivers the most realistic console experience of war.

Beaten to the ball. A frustrating but undeniably well put together package.

As a game where the developers have stated it was inspired by Dark Souls, it’s safe to say Rogue Legacy won’t be for everyone. It’s a game where you are continuously pummelled into the ground until you get better or give up. Those that persevere though will be greatly rewarded.

Tiger Woods 09 certainly has a lot of life in it. A good online mode and lengthy career will easily keep golf enthusiasts hooked until the next edition.

On balance, however, this is a great game that outperforms most others in the field, but it's also obvious - painfully so - that it could have been so much more.

Overall, Trine 2: The Complete Story is a solid puzzle platform game which offers stunning vistas and co op play to boot.

Instead of well-written dialogue, we have semi-naked female characters with implausible breasts; instead of any sort of well-rounded lead character, we have a dislikeable chap with 'attitude'; instead of complex, beautifully-designed puzzles that continually flow from room to room, we have combat and decapitations at every corner.

If you have yet to experience the game then this is the perfect time to do so, if you’ve already played through it, then there’s still plenty new her to make it a worthwhile purchase.

The ‘zap’ system and the loss of item chests (the main difference in this episode) is a welcome addition indeed and makes Resident Evil 0 a definite purchase to any fan of the series.

Darksiders II is an absolutely outstanding experience, the combat is fluid, the story is well written, the RPG elements add a lot of depth and the side quests will add many extra hours to your time with the game. As we enter the twilight of the 360's life, this really is a stand out game of the highest quality.

Faults do exist, but the core gameplay more than makes up for it and finally confirms that Nintendo aren’t the only development studio who can make a stellar Wii game.

Still it’s a good solid package but don’t be expecting anything too new.

The pacing of PixelJunk Monsters is almost perfect with enough life in the experience to confirm that this is one of the wisest purchases currently available on the PlayStation Store Network.

If you’re looking for an entry point into the franchise, this isn’t the best place to start; even so, I really enjoyed myself with Q, even if it doesn’t quite live up to the absurd standards I’ve come to expect from this series.

DiRT is very much an offline game, so if you're looking for online thrills, look elsewhere, it does not deliver. What it does deliver, however, is a single player treat that is nothing short of fantastic.

It may not be to everyone’s tastes, but if you’re craving a deep story and interesting characters you won’t find much better.
