The combat system is extremely shallow, and Gamestyle can find little in depth to favourably commend it.- Gamestyle

Fights soon degenerate into a short-range melee where you slug it out with blows and the occasional throw move. There is no balance, and button-bashers will feel right at home as you soon realise there is little room for tactics or skill.- Gamestyle

Where Ubisoft's teams have exponentially raised the bar for squad-based titles, the LucasArts kowtowers have inconsolably brought the entry level down. Troops: step forward and press 'A' at my command. [Sir, yes sir!]- Gamestyle

The experience was so bland, uninspired and lacking that high feeling of drama and action that surround F1.- Gamestyle

Repeated playthoughs are marginally less frustrating as you already know what's coming, but hardly counter for the sloppiness of level design.- Gamestyle

The new title feels like it was made by someone who has only ever seen Youtube videos of the 2D Sonic games and taken a very poorly educated guess on how it should control.- Gamestyle

A shocking game; a turgid stinking pool of primordial ooze that would take millions of years to evolve into something that is worth using as a doorstop, let alone playing.- Gamestyle

chick chick BOOM does a lot of things right. It looks and sounds polished and attractive and the core mechanics have promise. It feels like it deserves better. But comparisons with luminary artillery games are foolish; there are too many imperfections to leave them unmentioned and any multiplayer game that leaves you celebrating the end for the end's sake is a failure. chick chick BOOM could have, should have been so much more: a tremendous shame that it is not.- Gamestyle

Two steps removed from the CCG it seeks to emulate, and is unlikely to appeal to anyone but Magic aficionados - and even then it has so cruelly crushed the freedom and essence of the licence that players of 'chess with cards' cannot help but shun it.- Gamestyle

Dead Island is described as a first person action-adventure game, whilst it is definitely first person, the latter two descriptions are misleading, it is action in as much as raising your arm is an action, it is adventure in as much finding toilet roll is an adventure. They should have called it a first person battle of tedium, because it would've been a lot more accurate.- Gamestyle

It's sad to say that it's just not worth persevering through the tortuous controls. The story is not particularly gripping, and the decisions that affect the progression aren't provoking.- Gamestyle

Unrewarding, derivative, insulting and just plain dull, and worse of all, shamefully ignorant of the huge leaps forward in level design, characterisation and game structure and in the last decade, and as such is best avoided.- Gamestyle

We're not completely humourless, and the whimsical silliness of game, particularly the guitar duels, still raise a smile; but the first On Tour did that too, and it was considerably more fun.- Gamestyle

Remove the excellent presentation and engaging audio, and you have a video game that is not fit for purpose.- Gamestyle

Regardless of the strong visuals and design, Ghosthunter only feels like a half-hearted attempt, and a flawed one at that.- Gamestyle

The combination of uninspiring sound, graphic and game design all add up to a title that is best left sitting on a shelf as a message to the game's developer and publisher that gamers will not buy sub-par products.- Gamestyle

The Matrix: Path of Neo does have its moments - but these are limited by the restraints of the medium. In the trilogy, Neo could do almost anything, which included manipulation of time itself. Transferring these abilities in-game has been problematic, and the engine simply can't cope with all of Neo's talents.- Gamestyle

We suppose if you’re really into your WW2 shooters and unlike everyone else in the world has yet to tire of the setting then it’s possible that you’ll get some joy out of it. Everyone else need not apply.- Gamestyle

Fighting really isn't Sonic's strength - at least not with regard to good gameplay. He needs to be kept on his feet - a balled blur of blue - not flat on his face.- Gamestyle

Ultimately though it comes back to crushing disappointment. Nothing here wasn’t possible on the last generation of consoles and after playing other open worlds the city of New York seems bland in comparison.- Gamestyle

Tedious puzzles and boring 'go here and collect this' missions destroy what could have been the most interesting Harry Potter title to date. So, it's another average movie tie-in then. What a surprise.- Gamestyle

An extremely large turkey. And one that any Potter fan would do well to avoid, even if it means waiting a tad longer for the next "proper" game to follow Chamber of Secrets.- Gamestyle

After a few long hours of the cast’s banal dialogue, I wished to throw my Vita – or myself – down the nearest staircase. Either would have made it all go away.- Gamestyle

Much improvement will be needed to prevent it from following in the path of many a flightless bird...namely, into oblivion. In the meantime, place R: Racing Evolution on the "endangered species" list.- Gamestyle
