The Whispered World is a stunningly beautiful adventure game with a great story for adults. It makes you smile, touches your heart, makes you sad and thoughtful. A little masterpiece with a small, but great hero.

Don't expect this game to be a remake of the classic Mad TV game or you'll be disappointed. It may look similar, but some key elements of the classic game are missing. So it's just a solid simulation game.

It took seven years to finish this game. It's a bit like a huge box of Legos without a manual. Lot's of great parts, but it takes some time and work until everything fits together. With a bit more design it could have been a milestone of simulation games.

Sam & Max behind bars! That’s how the third season starts and it’s a great start, too. Lots of comedy, running gags, the return of beloved characters and new ideas - but still a bit too easy.

It’s thrilling for the first hour, but then it’s just routine. There’s no way to try and find a clever solution for a problem because the game only offers a single one. That’s annoying even for die-hard fans of the TV series.

On the one hand, there are the open world and the freedom to do what you want to do, on the other hand, the world is lifeless. It's a great game for some people, but the opposite for most.

Hundreds of vehicles, hundreds of square kilometers – Avalanche has created the largest level for an action game so far. Some of the open world gameplay just seems to be there to add playtime, but the missions make up for that.

This is a complete make-over of the series. It’s faster, more diverse, more flexible and because of these changes it’s extremely thrilling, too. There are a lot of ways to win, so trying out new strategies is very entertaining.

The Tiberium saga ends while hitting rock bottom, being just a fast-food game without any depth. It’s not a bad game, but feels like any other game of the genre.

The first add-on to Dragon Age: Origins continues the story and adds new areas, monsters, quests and skills. It may be a bit short, but it’s a great adventure.

Chaos Rising is great addition to Dawn of War 2 and manages to impress with speed, thrilling battles and a motivating story – at the cost of less complexity and strategy.

Instead of being an entertaining horror game, I’m Not Alone seems to be a zombie itself. Should you see it somewhere, remember zombie rule number one and run for your life.

That’s how a sequel should be done. There’s a better story and a much more charming hero. Even the few flaws of the game can’t hurt the great overall impression.

Prussian virtues like discipline and order aren’t much fun and turn-based battles like in Rise of Prussia aren’t much fun either. If you are very interested in the Seven Year war, then go for it, otherwise take a look at Napolean: Total War instead.

The new single-player mode isn’t that interesting, but the multi-player part is fantastic. With new destructable environments and new game modes Bad Company 2 is the best Battlefield game so far.

Silent Hunter has all ingredients to be a thrilling historical submarine simulation. But there are so many bugs and flaws that most of the fun is drowning.

It’s more than just a simple game with a move license. The crazy game world is filled with good gameplay ideas, so it‘s easy to ignore the flaws.

The single player campaign basically forces you to use the same tactics over and over again, but you‘ll still want to play that next mission. Supreme Commander really shines in multi-player games or skirmishes.

Finally there’s a multi-player mode and it’s excellent, too. There are 15 different settings for single players and much more. Whether you like to play all alone or you prefer to play with or against others, you’ll enjoy Anno 1404: Venice.

If developers of real military simulations try to develop games, things can go terribly wrong regarding the balance between complexity and fun. Despite the great AI there’s not enough fun in there. Try again, please.

It’s the best game covering the Napoleonic Wars, but not necessarily the best game of the Total War series. But the multi-player mode finally makes an old dream come true. But it’s still a shame that Empire: Total War did not get any of the improvements.

Rebellion removed the most important feature from the game: panic. Instead of being in danger or afraid all the time like in the classic game, it’s now easy to beat aliens to a pulp. It’s still thrilling from time to time, but the single-player-part has lost most of its appeal.

On the one hand it’s like the first game, on the other hand it isn’t. The philosophical background and the shocking moments are gone. But the new game still offers lots of weapons, interesting fights and great environments.

It’s Stalker how it should have been right from the start, even though the graphics are not up to date anymore and the AI has a few problems. It’s a quality game and we can’t wait until Stalker 2 with better graphics.

It’s a unique but half-baked attempt to convert the Star Trek license into an online game. For Star Trek fans this game is still something very special, but it will need regular updates to keep the players motivated.

This is the first great game of 2010. It’s a worthy successor to the first game and a fast paced science fiction drama. Maybe no one except Bioware really knows how to tell stories and create believeable characters. It’s more than just a role playing game and also technically advanced.

Despite the name it’s neither dark nor empty and not even filled with lots of fun, either. Sure, it’s fun for some time, but doing the same things over and over again, using the same weapons in levels that are very similar, too. It could have been much better, now it’s just a mediocre game.

This game shows what most athletes have to endure during the Olympic Games: losing and nervous breakdowns. There are 14 disciplines, each of which is extremely hard to master, mainly because of the bad controls, leaving you to guess what caused the problem. It looks and sounds good, but that’s it.

It's not a perfect game, but the surprise of the year: A lot of great gameplay, lots of fresh ideas and a lot of fun. You may like some things more than others, but where else can you annoy a dragon again and again by shouting the name of his nemesis?

This is the PC conversion of the console game Birds of Prey. It's a bit short for an action game, doesn't offer enough options to be a simulation and still it's worth playing, mainly because there are no alternatives and Wings of Prey has great graphics worth seeing.
