A survival strategy game that centres on an efficient economy. Mundane presentation, settlers merely are human resources.

The laying of tram tracks and overhead lines is so complicated that I'd rather build five bus lines as a single tram line, even if it's humbug economically.

Fun multiplayer shooter with a strong Overwatch influence, yet runs out of breath over time.

A slightly different blue-collar simulator that often does not take itself too seriously and thus becomes unique.

A delightful remake of an exciting crossover between Lovecraftian myths and the unshakeable logic of Sherlock Holmes.

Popcorn shooter with an enormous and sophisticated multiplayer, some story deficiencies and quite a short co-op.

It's not a perfect game, but the surprise of the year: A lot of great gameplay, lots of fresh ideas and a lot of fun. You may like some things more than others, but where else can you annoy a dragon again and again by shouting the name of his nemesis?

A jump and run with puzzles. Average gameplay, but great story and atmosphere.

The single player missions are very similar, but in coop this game is extremely entertaining.

A small, technically not quite up-to-date masterpiece: Vampyr is multi-layered, atmospheric and exciting up to the last drop.

From ice races to climbing on steep slopes and rallycross through gravel and mud to gymkhana stunt events, there is something for every taste. And if I don't feel like going to a certain event, I just skip it. You are by no means forced to go along with everything, and that's a good thing.

The fact that recruits can easily be found in the world is also a good way of drawing attention to the open world. Because it should be seen: As an open-world city, London feels amazingly real and is full of life. Sometimes I ignore all the missions and prefer to drive a little with music through the brightly lit streets, watch people while I am strolling along the Thames or fly high over the roofs in a cargo drone to look for the best way to a hidden technology point.

Thrilling turn based strategy with a fresh setting, at least at the beginning. The half-baked combat system disappoints despite time-travel manipulations.

RPG fans who have the stamina and who are after a singleplayer role-playing game that does not rely on the old-school could still have fun with Greedfall and should give it a chance. And even if it is only to love the extraordinary world design.

I would not say that Code Vein communicates its story better than Dark Souls. But it just tells it refreshingly different and I enjoy experiencing the game mechanics of Dark Souls in a different context.

If you can't get enough of killing Zombies and co-operative play, Killing Floor may be a cheaper alternative to Left 4 Dead. It doesn't come close though and it's obvious that Killing Floor once was a mod for Unreal Tournament 2004.

It's an interesting idea, a setting full of humor and clearly influenced by the classic Dungeon keeper. A great mix on paper, but in reality the lack of balancing is annoying.
