Black Gold's combination of intense real-time action, gorgeous graphics, and streamlined play make this one of the best real-time strategy games of 2001.

If a sim with action is what you are looking for, go for it. If you find the frenetic pace of an MTV music video too slow for you, then avoid this game entirely.

Unfortunately for its publishers, there are a few great platform games out for the GBA. "Castlevania: Circle of the Moon," "Rayman Advance," and "Klonoa: Empire of Dreams" are superior games that offer a more complete package.

It’s a fast-paced, adrenaline rush kind of game, and it’s really quite difficult, but that should just mean it’ll keep you busy for a while.

The overall feel of controlling Seth is noticeably imprecise. While the controls aren't bad enough to be a great hindrance to the action, most gamers will likely find the lack of refinement in Seth's movements to be at least a slight annoyance.

This is what an expansion pack should be ... tons more of everything you enjoyed from the first game with just enough new stuff to keep you guessing.

If you like isometric action games, you'll love Zax. It may not be new, creative, or genre bending, but it sure is fun.

I've been sucked in by the splendor that is Dark Age Of Camelot. I've had nothing but good times since I started playing. Servers have been stable and the NetImmerse engine has withstood the steadily increasing flow of new players without a hitch.

Jekyll & Hyde does create a moody and interesting game out of the book's characters, and there's some very cool stuff here.

Solid, immersive gameplay that sadly does lose some steam after extended periods of time. But, it's a fun ride for those looking something a little different from the norm.

The downside to this aspect of the game is that (as mentioned) it can be downright frustrating to get to the point where you are actually even a minor 'player' on this regional stage.

As a whole, Core has once again stepped off the beaten path to give a gameplay experience that few other games can touch.

Just about every aspect of the game seems a half-hearted effort...Twenty hours with this game is ten hours too many.

It's occasionally so rough around the edges that you'll lose sight of its superlative premise and you might just decide you'd rather play "Baldur's Gate" after all.

For anyone who appreciates bizarre characters and storylines, the game is especially appealing. The graphics are fantastic, although the gameplay itself is standard overall.

It's fun, easy to get into, and quick to master...While it is smooth and the overall graphic effect is done very well the game lacks a lot of substance and is hard to replay.

I was expecting a boring and slow-paced fighting title like "Tekken Tag Tournament," but what I found was one of the best fighting games of 2001.

You can "create the ultimate coaster -- and ride it!" But at the same time you can do very little else, and while the ride might be the ultimate, too much else just seems to be missing.

a paradox. Buried deep beneath the myriad of technical and gameplay issues is a real gem of a game that is worth playing.

I would like Jumpgate a LOT more if you had an autopilot, even if you had to buy it as a component...But the game itself is solid and has enormous potential.

More about style than substance. Nevertheless, the style excels, and there's still enough substance to give strategy gamers something worthwhile.

Obviously old school fans of these kinds of games will be impressed by the graphics and fast paced gameplay, but as I mentioned, if this isn't your thing there isn't much else in the way of gameplay.

If "Resident Evil" was likened to "Night of the Living Dead," then think of Silent Hill 2 as "Twin Peaks," minus the damn fine coffee, but plus the atmospheric gloom and cast of insane deviants, with the entire mixture then taken out back into the woods, shot, hacked into small chunks, and buried.

You'll likely spend more time laboriously and tediously pumping out units and then frantically chasing after them than doing anything rewarding or intelligent...Real War plays like a tired, third-rate RTS copycat.

One of the absolute greatest games you will ever play. With gorgeous graphics, sounds, and environments it's easily one of the most aesthetically pleasing as well. The level and puzzle design is absolutely brilliant as well.
