The fighting system found within Shifters is guaranteed to make just about anyone cringe. Calling it simple is a horrid understatement.- GameSpy

A mediocre trick system proved to be more of an annoyance than an innovation. Nevertheless, in the end, MX fans will likely find this title worthwhile.- GameSpy

It is in many ways the best of the bunch, but somewhere along the line it has lost that cool edge that made the series so legendary.- GameSpy

[It's] not going to compete with the likes of Zelda or "Breath of Fire." It does, however, provide a friendly role-playing experience with familiar characters in a setting that is easy to navigate.- GameSpy

On the right track...but in the end just comes up short...Fireblade misses the mark when it comes to graphics with dull textures, dull colors, and dull environments.- GameSpy

Its single-player game will rank among the best PC RPGs of all time and is sure to earn it fame. Power, however, is something it gives, rather than gets. More than any other game, Neverwinter Nights truly gives players power.- GameSpy

It won't replace the fun of facing off one-on-one with your friends, and those bluffing techniques you've perfected are all but useless, but when your friends are unavailable or you're hit with a bout of insomnia, MtGO is your best alternative.- GameSpy

Fails to deliver in almost every category. Nicely rendered monster trucks and official licenses hardly mask the disastrous elements that ravenously eat away at this game's soul.- GameSpy

Some enjoyable moments clearly prevailed. However, they were simply too few and far between. Would I recommend it? Only to neophyte questers and those starved for an adventure, any adventure.- GameSpy

The massive amount of unit and race variety coupled with an aggressive (albeit at times quirky) AI, full editing capabilities, a boatload of spells, engaging combat, and rock-solid game mechanics make for a strategy game that is not only better than the original, but arguably the best turn-based strategy game released this year.- GameSpy
