The biggest flaws with AvP: Extinction are the lack of a rotating camera, the unit micromanagement required, and the fact that there are only 21 missions in the game with no multiplayer at all... I wasn't disappointed with the game, and I don't think fans of AvP would be either.

Perhaps the biggest draw for Gundam fans is the mode in which you create your own pilot and build up his or her stats in one-player missions, then fight other Gundam geeks in the two-player mode.

The fighting in the game is basic, a little humdrum, and hardly inspired. Graphically, it's nothing special.

It takes a different approach than most other console RPG battle systems, one that will alienate some gamers while appealing to others.

If Lost Planet was a budget title, we'd have an easier time recommending it. The main campaign is short, multiplayer matches are nowhere to be found, and you'll need a lot of computing muscle if you want to run it with a decent level of detail.

There isn't anything strikingly bad about the game, but it's an ultimately flavorless one that leaves us hoping the upcoming CivCity: Rome and Caesar IV pack a bit more of a Roman punch.

Operation Surma isn't a total disaster, but it's the bottom of the stealth-action barrel, and only those gamers who've played literally everything else in the genre should bother with this one.

The game gives players a fast-paced, fully customizable experience. And, thanks to its fun online capabilities, the action can be shared around the world.

It rarely does anything wrong, but at the same time doesn't earn high marks in too many categories. PoPoLoCrois is just an average role-playing game, made better by the lack of competition and the fact that you can take it with you.

Compared to the barebones, disappointing release that is "Death Jr.," Konami comes back with the rebound, offering players a solid title that's simple to play and enjoyable for gamers of all ages.

The game's cartoonish nature and over-the-top attempts at humor may ward off prospective players before the game is able to redeem itself.

A textbook case of the gameplay taking a backseat to the graphics... Auto Modellista's biggest problem is still the poor control.

The game's events are portrayed with such stark realism that sometimes after playing I almost felt like I had experienced the events alongside the characters.

Legacy is a promising development for fans hoping the franchise's third installment will feature a return to the tactical gameplay of Dragon Age: Origins. Unfortunately, it's a bit too late for Dragon Age II, and Legacy's legacy is as a $10 reminder of the full game's shortcomings.

Although MechAssault: Phantom War isn't necessarily the worst game to ever pop up on the DS, it's pretty close to the bottom of the pile. The poor controls and bland graphics are a far cry from everything that made the original MechAssault game on the Xbox such a success.

While there are some nice, new touches -- most notably, the improved controls -- the game's lack of depth and less-than-cutting-edge presentation make things seem incomplete.

A very mixed bag. The graphics will swing from impressive to tolerable to utterly nauseating in a split second, the customization options are almost nonexistant but offer a very quick and easy entrance into the game.

Unfortunately, desktop crashes, the need for money and carrots, some annoying sound effects, and a few frustrating puzzles mar what could have been one of the better adventure games to come out in years.

But the 360 version's clunky control scheme and savage technical problems bring the game down, and none of the key issues from the PC release have been changed. The problems here don't outweigh the fun, but the margin is very thin.

    1) It's not flashy; 2) It's not easy; 3) There's not much of a reward waiting for you at the end. So as long as you're okay with Myst throwbacks in all their staid, obtuse non-glory, you won't be disappointed.

A severely flawed game that could have been far better had it undergone further testing. The freeze bug is absolutely crippling and has even caused retailers like EBGames and GameStop to reduce the amount of money they'll offer for the game in trade-in value.
