Strikingly original, Bad Mojo (meaning "black magic") is a gritty, action-based exploration that sucks you in with great visuals, and keeps you playing with a poignant story and clever obstacles that bar your progress from room to room.

It's rare when a game comes along that really kicks your ass. 3D Realm's full version of Duke Nukem 3D is just that kind of posterior pummeler. With its free-flowing 3D action, over-the-top weapons, and ruthlessly attitudinal protagonist, Duke Nukem will have PC gamers worldwide rubbing their rumps with spine-tingling glee.

Playing the entire conflict in the role of the other side makes for twice the gameplay value, and I don't even want to think about what's going to happen when the six-player networkable version comes out. Highly, highly recommended.

Although many gamers have criticized this title as being too short, Full Throttle's amusing story and well-developed characters make this shortcoming easy to overlook.

A dark, disturbing game. And while it may not bring anything new to the genre, it can create obsession-level loyalty if you tend not to look beyond the barrel of a gun.

Derivative, homely, tedious, and buggy. It also has a useless character stat and leveling system, so RPG enthusiasts can hate it too.

You get only generic adventure-game puzzles that have little to do with detective work and everything to do with tricking people into helping you perform mundane tasks.

Unfortunately, the 3D engine serves only to make Myst a much more frustrating game.

It doesn't break much new ground, and it's not as polished as it should be, but it offers loads of thrilling, old-school shooter action.

May be an improvement on "Legion," and it may focus on an often-neglected part of history in the early Near East civilizations, but there are better options out there if you enjoy historical strategy games like these.

Surprisingly dull and is lacking in both personality and depth...Sloppy, shallow, and ultimately forgettable, the game never lives up to its undeniably catchy concept.

Does an outstanding job in simulating the trials and tribulations of running a pro football club, and it manages to put a friendly face on all of the number crunching, to boot.

An outstanding achievement. College basketball has never been so thoroughly, enjoyably re-created. Sports management sims are rarely so captivating, no matter what real-life pastime they represent.

The developers may have designed a serious hockey simulation for the serious hockey fan, but the dated, almost DOS-like interface and absence of nifty accessories, like career play, make it an acquired taste.

Not only is Alida built around one of the most tired clichés in the adventure genre (the deserted island filled with Rube Goldberg machines), but also Alida's game engine is woefully dated to boot.

That frenetic pace, coupled with copious quantities of carnage, make Vietnam: Ho Chi Minh Trail a simple but exciting game, at least until the sometimes-extreme difficulty wears you down.

Something like a comfortable old shoe that's finally starting to fall apart. Revamping some of the graphics and switching the player ratings system from letters to numbers make this seem like more of a remake than a sequel. Gameplay has been allowed to stagnate.

Developer Shaun Sullivan's third release in this series continues to combine some of the depth of Out of the Park Baseball with the more straightforward play of Baseball Mogul, a design focus that somehow results in a captivating game that you won't confuse with either of its main influences.
