Link is back in the best shape we've seen him in for years. The puzzles and challenges are brilliant, and the motion controls really shows you how to do something right. This 25 year old kid is still as relevant as ever.

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is a fantastic combination of absurd Japanese humor and point and click mechanics. It's filled to the brim with charm, good laughs and brilliant puzzles that will keep you locked to the screen for hours on end.

Rights of Man expands on Europa Universalis 4's already massive world. Great powers, institutions and new royal mechanics make for a more intriguing experience, and together create one of the best expansions in the game's history.

Persona 5 is a game that contains all of the brilliant elements from the series. It also has made the series' most irritating concept into something that you don’t have to play, and you’ll be totally fine without it.

Demon's Souls Remastered kicks off a new generation of console games with a bang. This recreation of FromSoftware's original Souls game is nothing short of stunning, though at times a bit too faithful. Despite some rough edges the experience still holds up well, and reaches all new heights thanks to Bluepoint's amazing attention to detail.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is a literal blast to play. The game's visuals (the attention to detail, the amazing style and the colorful cast) are clearly it's most impressive feature, but the fighting itself is no slouch either. The experience could really do with a better and more interesting story mode, but nearly everything else in this game is superbly well made.

The Midnight Walk is a game worth taking a chance on. It’s a wonderful journey into a nightmarish adventure where several great stories all give you something to feel. The visuals are unparalleled, and some of the most impressive I’ve ever seen. This is art, this is something that is actually possible to achieve. While other developers are trying to make visual Fortnite clones, or chasing fancy photorealism, Fast Travel Games has done something completely different, with enormous success.

Return to Monkey Island hits the balance between the absurd humor and an emotional core better than any other game in the series. It is a natural mechanical and thematic evolution of the series, with a great new pirating adventure. Let’s hope it’s not the last.

There's nothing you haven't seen before. It only takes a bright solid, arch-depressive medieval world, mixes it with a fantastic battle system and pushing the limits of your patience to the extreme. The result is unique in all the right ways.

A brilliant remake of one of the best Zelda games ever made. The motion control is fun, but at the same time limited to the technology today. Although I miss the opportunity to make notes on the map, this is the same fantastic game you remember.

Monster Hunter Wilds has so much to focus on, and so many different paths to the goal. It only gets repetitive and boring if you let it. There's a whole, lush, living world at your feet. Some of my fondest gaming memories, and the coolest battles I've ever had, have happened in this particular game. It's as close to a top score as you can get. We're only a few weeks into February, but I'm 100% sure that this will be a top 3 game for me this year at the very least.

Quantum Break is a bold and brave game that dares to be different. With a fascinating story and exhilarating gameplay, Remedy has created another fantastic game.

Explosive combat, fun activities and a beautifully realised city makes GhostWire: Tokyo stand out as a truly unique experience.

SpaceChem is an intelligent and addictive puzzler with a high difficulty level but some of the most enjoyable and satisfying puzzles I've ever experienced. This is a modern classic in the puzzle genre.

Divinity: Original Sin delivers an old school RPG experience in a fresh and attractive package. The world is open and massive, and a fabulous soundtrack sets the mood perfectly. This game does not hold your hand, but let's you think, fail or succeed by your own merits. Exactly what we wanted.

Pokémon X is easily the best game in the series since Ruby & Sapphire released nearly eleven years ago (not counting HeartGold and SoulSilver), and it’s amazing how much a touch of 3D and some potent online features can add to the tried and true formula.

Tunic is a really cozy game that only gets better the longer you play. It captures much of what made games like A Link to the Past so immersive in its time, but merges it with its own design elements (and a bit of Dark Souls).

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective offers a great and eccentric cast, well-written dialogue and a unique take on the point-and-click genre. If you skipped the Nintendo DS release you should not let this one pass by unnoticed.

The PS3 version offers the most complete Mass Effect 2 experience. Even if the cartoon representing the story of the original Mass Effect, though nice to look at, seems a bit redundant, ME2 is still a game that everyone should experience and enjoy.
