This massively unbalanced game manages to produce tears of joy and tears of pain pretty much all at the same time. An awesome combat system can't quite fight off the vast army of frustrating annoyances.

Despite being quite enjoyable at its best, this maritime strategy game is scuttled by a very slow start and a lack of depth.

A mediocre wargame that fails to impress. A short, 6-hour-long story which is hard to follow, does not hit any emotional buttons or give enough adrenalin-pumping moments. A decent multiplayer, but nothing that has not been done before in the genre.

The campaign is too short, even for an arcade game. The gameplay is repetitive, and you'll probably be tired long before you've played all 100 levels. The multiplayer can be good fun with some friends, but don't expect the fun to last all night.

The third expansion to the Men of War universe suffers by being one of the most difficult realtime strategy games out there. Combine this with a rather high amount of bugs, and you got the recipe for the least entertaining and most frustrating game of the series.

Heavily inspired by the likes of Dungeon Keeper, this base building game fails to achieve the greatness of it's ancestor. There's some fun here, but outside of trying to navigate your increasingly complex dungeons, it's not challenging enough.

Yooka-Laylee simply doesn't live up to todays standards. Especially when compared to the well designed games we've been served lately.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare brings a fun single player campaign to the table, despite the lackluster characters and the shallow storyline. The multiplayer is what keeps me coming back, but with the latest maps being awkwardly designed, I'm spending most - if not all - of my time on Terminal, a map from Modern Warfare 2, which basically sums up the problem of the series. Call of Duty is in dire need of a gameplay revolution, and it shows from the most basic of movement patterns to how I'm shooting my gun.

Eagle Flight leaves me with mixed feelings. The first time you play it will knock your socks off, but you soon find a game with a lack of depth.

There can be no doubt that Hello Games set out on a journey of extreme ambition with No Man's Sky. Unfortunately, too much of a good thing can turn into something bad, which sadly reflects the reality of this never-ending game. While it is a beautiful, inspiring and gigantic title, No Man's Sky lacks the depth, the polish and the substance of a truly great adventure.

Making courses in a streamlined editor on the 3DS is a joy, but the unexplained absence of sharing courses online takes away any interest in continued building and playing.

It has its moments but this trek through rooms and corridors quickly becomes tiresome and uninspired. The multiplayer brings it up a notch, but not enough to make this truly worth your time.

The fusing of puzzles, Metroidvania and a the film noir aesthics create a very alien, yet familiar world to travel in. It becomes a bit boring in places, but overall the journey is a fascinating one.

Most twin stick shooters are good fun for a while, and this is no exception. Cutting down orks with constant streams of bullets is definitely entertaining, especially with a friend. It provides terribly little variation though, and you won't be sad when it's over.

So then we are left with Warcraft III, only with a bit nicer figure models and surroundings, and a small bunch of removed elements. If you have the old game from before, it is difficult to say that this renovation is worth the money. And when everything that's gone in Reforged is additionally removed from the old version of the game, it's hard not to scratch our heads and wonder what we're paying for. What's the point?

An improvement on its predecessor, in terms of both combat and setting, but the choppy framerate and ridiculous outfits ensure that the Code Vein II experience remains an underwhelming one.

The tense atmosphere and fascinating setting makes this a highly interesting installment in the series. Sadly it is all brought down by a long list of technical issues and annoyances that makes this sometimes very enjoyable game a very trying experience.

As a means to tell stories based on actual events Valiant Hearts: The Great War works fairly well. The plot is engaging, the characters compelling and the use of World War One as a backdrop is a bold, but ultimately good decision by Ubisoft Montpellier. The beautiful, hand drawn graphics are stunning to look at, and manage to underscore how difficult life in the trenches was. Unfortunately Valiant Hearts isn't able to justify itself as a game. The gameplay is, ultimately, not very interesting and completely without challenge.

Days Gone has a lot of great ideas, an interesting story and some of the most beautiful eyes in the business, but other than that the game is lacking in both polish and execution. Overall it's completely serviceable, but that's about it.

Not pretty to look at, has a horrible story and a long walk from the spirit of the original game. The mechanism makes good multiplayer games and the technology system offers different playing techniques, but the game struggles to stand out from other average titles.

The Empire Divided campaign partially succeeds in being a fun new addition to the Total War universe, but it quickly becomes clear that the old shortcomings of the Rome 2 engine and a lack of great new mechanics, music and voice-overs make for an experience that feels older than it should.

Master of Orion is a visually appealing game, but for a strategy title that tries to impress, it's not enough to sport a pretty face. The wonder of a space exploration strategy is severely lacking, partly due to the arcade-like game design, and partly due to the lack of any real depth.

Tri Force Heroes isn't a bad game, but it's not a great one either. It feels more like an apology from Nintendo for delaying Zelda Wii U to 2016. A lack of polish and depth holds the experience back and there's very little reason to replay anything once you're done the first time around.
