It is very depressing to see a game unashamedly take ideas from existing franchises. Worst still, Black Ship Games have not in anyway tried to improve on the game they so hopelessly ripped off.

The high difficulty will be a major cause of frustration to quite a high number of you out there, so those on the lookout for an easy ride may be well advised to steer well clear.

The battle system, the storyline, and even the aesthetics manage to impress, culminating in a game that’s quite highly thought of by Gamer Archive.

It falls just short of having anything that innovative or of a grand scale enough to rise above the crowd and become one of "the few and the proud", must-have titles of our day.

The actual in ring fighting is solid, if unspectacular, it's very much pleasing on the eye, and the story mode is of a slightly lower quality than we could have hoped for. However, the package as a whole does come together quite well.

The sheer addictive quality and the fact that Capcom have (once again) gone completely against the grain for the recent trend of titles on this generation of consoles brings about a delight that very few games manage to inflict upon their game players.

In simple terms, there just isn’t enough in the game that manages to firmly grab you and take you on a gameplay experience that warrant a higher score.

The combat system which at first feels quite intuitive, can at certain times become overly repetitive and tedious. Plus the fact that the NPC characters are just inherently boring doesn't help matters either.

A game that can only really be recommended to gamers who’ll regularly make use of the multiplayer play.

The biggest problem in need of improvement would have to be in the soundtrack. Don’t get me wrong, the music is well composed and fitting for the game, but too often in the mission you get this repeat atmospheric type music that is about a five-second long (if that) affair that then repeats itself in total constancy.

Is it complicated? Yes of course. Is it too much for a generation of strategists brought up on the shallow nature of "Command and Conquer" to handle? Most definitely. But, is it still one of the most innovative and important strategy titles of recent times? Of that there’s no doubt.

But there are still niggles that stop the game for reaching the height of a classic. The repetition and the frustrating boss battles are the worst offenders. Despite this, Spider-Man 2 is heartily recommended.

Massive Entertainment have once again upped the bar for RTS graphics, as Ground Control 2 is one of the most astonishingly gorgeous titles around at the moment.

Despite the enjoyment that the moments of driving can offer, the astonishingly poor "walkabout" sections detract so much from the game, and crop up in such a number, that even those who adored the first Driver wouldn't be able to put up with it.

Here we have a great game, purely let down by the genre it’s representing so well. A delight to play, but just cant beat the real thing.

Praise does have to go to Namco for trying a new idea, and one that will surely be copied across all sports games in the coming years, but it unfortunately isn’t implemented quite as well as we could have all hoped for.

Whereas the previous Sonic Advance titles have seemed to miss that little bit of soul that made the series' first appearance's on the humble Sega Mega Drive, Sonic Advance 3 has it in abundance.

The fact that the game can be quite easily completed within 10 hours of play may very well put a few people off making the purchase. It has to be said however that these 10 hours of game play are some of the best you'll play in the last few years.

To actually control your Transformer, you’ll be feeling a very sluggish and irritating way of moving your character around. Some seem to think this is intentional in order to portray the image that your in control of a huge machine. I on the other hand see it more as a purely poorly implemented part of the game.

The fact that the game is so terribly easy, giving even the more gaming challenged gamer the capabilities to blast their way through the game in a mere weekend, gives the impression that Red Dead Revolver was never really meant for the hardcore types.

Just a few little flaws with the sometimes simplistic combat, and the fact that there’s not really anything here that we haven’t seen in the previous titles (although its done much better in this third instalment), means that Onimusha will never be remembered in the same kind of regard as say the "Resident Evil" series.

None of the major elements in the game is anything that hasn’t been seen in other stealth games. Nor are they as good. Which gives it the score of 6, but Alias fans should take that score with a pinch of salt...
