Guardian Heroes is an excellent remake of a beloved beat 'em up from the SEGA Saturn era that fans of the genre should not miss.

The creators of Bastion managed to deliver another great action/ RPG. Transistor is shorter than Bastion, but has amazing visuals, an incredible atmosphere and a superb battle system.

When Tetris meets modern music this is what you get. It's not suitable for everyone, but a few unique gaming hours are guaranteed.

An overall great sequel to the original, color-splashing action shooter. Minor improvements to the Hero mode might not be enough for veteran players, but with the multiplayer component of the game being better than ever, Splatoon 2 can easily guarantee hours and hours of co-op paintball action.

Sorry We're Closed could be described as the Signalis of 2024, offering a standout indie survival horror experience. With a unique take on love stories and well-crafted visuals reminiscent of the first PlayStation era, it draws inspiration from games like Killer7, Silent Hill, and Shadows of the Damned. The result is a memorable, atmospheric game that stands out with its own distinctive personality.

BlueTwelve definitely managed through its first title to implement in an excellent way the vision that was behind the main reason for the creation of the studio: To develop a game in which -although it suffers in terms of limited gameplay and easy riddles and puzzles- the player will feel like a cat.

With Yakuza 0 overflowing with complexity and quality material, you would have expected Yakuza 6 to go for an even larger and more spectacular final story of its main character’s ark. Surprisingly, the developers chose to trim the fat and return to the starting origins of the show. While it does feel like a step backwards in some cases, it does allows for a far more dramatic experience and believable storyline where you can actually feel the intent of the characters and get invested in them and their lives. A solid, well crafted ending to one of Sega’s greatest stars.

The return of this beloved title shines on the Switch 2, with upgraded visuals and the welcome addition of well-designed extra levels, though a few more of them would have been even better.

While it remains the best entry for new gamers into the world of Magic: The Gathering and it finally introduces us to sealed decks and custom builds, the hardcore fans of the series will probably be a little disappointed by the restrictions put on them and on the amount of basic content available.

Gameplay is virtually non-existent in Goodnight Universe, with overly simplistic puzzles that drag down the experience. Nevertheless, its story is touching and supported by solid voice acting. It’s commendable how effectively the developers convey the world through the perspective of an infant child.

A worthy addition to the franchise that will certainly please the fans. The journey of Joseph Capelli is effectively emotional, offering -finally- radically improved shooting mechanics along with a vast variety of atmospheric environments. Unfortunately, the sudden ending doesn't offer any answers or a conclusion to the Chimera saga.

Octopath Traveller’s uniqueness lies in a journey in which we choose from where we begin and how we will proceed. It is a journey that travels us back to the golden age of JRP games that we sorely miss.

By creating an immersive and interesting world and story -with different endings- Triangle Strategy manages to captivate the player even though the battle system and the overall mechanics are nothing to write home about.

It's not a revolution for the franchise, but rather a safe evolution -albeit very well executed. The pacing is greatly improved, along with the necessary variety of missions for the 12+ hours adventure. An honorable mention must be made for the amazing inclusion of the mission creation tools that will probably lead to a "Little Big Planet" phenomenon.

EA’s testament in delivering great football games continues with the edition of FIFA for the year 2018. Although some problems exist -like the annoying A.I. and the generic faces of some well known players- FIFA 19 is by far the richest and most complete football game to date.

The rhythmic, cymbal-centric, jazz music is combined impeccably with the frenetic action of Ape Out. Taking a cue from the way the game categorizes its levels into vinyl disks we feel that we only received side A now and we still missing side B. Probably this shows how much we enjoyed the game (wanting more of it) but, nevertheless, it feels like it could benefit greatly from more content, at least in terms of levels.

Even though the prequel to professor's first three games is not as spectacular and the formula seems a little worn out, it can still deliver some great puzzle-solving hours. Oh, and the absence of the London Life mini-game from the European version is inexcusable.

The well written story, mostly an afterthought in the majority of the games of its kind, is a very welcomed surprise in Katana Zero. The gameplay as well provides brutal, frenetic, challenging and utterly satisfying encounters. Alas, the whole content is finished in less than 3 hours leaving as with just a small part of a larger story arc, as it seems, and a limited number of levels that are not even close in giving as the impression that we had our fill from the action.

If you are looking for an epic adventure that will take hours to complete, then Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is a must-have! Despite some rather unjustified flaws, it is a game with a satisfying story and cast, wonderful level design, a memorable soundtrack and a deep -yet easy to pick- battle system. A must-have for all Switch owners and a glimpse of the Switch’s bright future ahead.

A juicy collection, full of content that aims to introduce an entirely new audience to the series, while it manages to bring back memories to old players in the best way possible. Lack of content that would have been meaningful to the older player is a drawback, but not enough to deprive players of a fantastic collection of games that can offer hours and hours of gameplay.
