Puzzle Scape seems to try too hard at imitating other games, especially Lumines with its addictive gamplay.

The game does offer some old school RTS fun, but then technical glitches get in the way. The Empire Earth devs aimed for the lowest common denominator, somehow not realizing that simple and easy doesn't always equal fun.

At the end of the day, Payday is a game that doesn't live up to the sum of its parts.

So given the choice, if you have an iPad and want to good old-fashioned Mario-style platforming adventure then check out Pixeline and the Jungle Treasure, but leave the iPhone version alone unless you or whoever is going to be playing has small fingers and infinite patience.

Obviously, I cannot recommend Knights Contract unless you are looking for a game that will punish you non-stop with horrible companion AI and frustrating boss battles. While the game has some ambitious elements in story, gameplay, and visual design, it also suffers from inexplicable bad choices in those same areas and more.

Ultimately, however, Divine Wind doesn't add enough to be as much of a mandatory expansion as its predecessors were.

The premise of Etherlords II can be diluted down to a simple card game concept; one person plays their cards and then the other until somebody wins. By nature, it is a repetitive game and I think the game designers overestimated the fun factor.

Overall, Iron Man 2 shows promise, but ultimately comes off as an underdeveloped attempt to cash in on the film. Clunky controls and outdated gameplay make Iron Man 2 seem more like an exercise in tedium than the visceral enjoyment that spending a few hours in Tony Stark's suit should be.

At best this would be a good hand-me-down game, passing from one kid to another to try to impart a lesson or two about natural history before he or she moves onto something a whole lot more fun. But that’s a stretch of Biblical proportions. Darwin probably wouldn’t approve.

Dead Reefs is about that, pretty dead in the water. If you really enjoy these searching adventure games you may be amused for a while but the keyboard and character issues are pretty annoying.

With all the cute animals and characters I really enjoyed this game.

Naughty Bear would have been a great $15 Summer of Arcade game, but as a standalone retail title, I can't recommend a purchase until this hits the $20 bargain bin and even then your standards, or at least your expectations had better be low.

Ford Bold Moves Street Racing is fairly basic in presentation and offers a limited selection of real world cars and pretty average racing action mixed with some minor team strategy elements.

There is no denying the cute and cuddly factor of the cast, and the appealing art style of the cutscenes, but the 2D gameplay, tiny characters, uninspired game design, and a coma-inducing soundtrack should send anyone over the age of ten in search of something else to play on your NDS.

I was frustrated that the designers chose to use the black button for power swings while the B and X buttons are left totally open and useless. Last time I checked the black button was far from convenient, even on the new S-Controller.

Time Pilot was a decent game back in the day, but when it’s compared to stuff like Pac- Man and Galaga, it doesn’t have much in the way of legs.

Rock Band Unplugged may look and sound like Rock Band but without instruments to hold and friends to join in the fun, all that’s left is a solitary and miserable experience with intolerable load times that had me rushing back to my console version of Rock Band 2 to wash the bitter taste from my mouth.

As a free, unlimited, online shooter, War Rock fits the bill quite well, however the more money you put into it, the more you will begin to see its flaws.

Conflict Denied Ops offered some highs and some lows in my experience. Overall, it is far from the best of the PS3, but it is also far from the worst.

As long as you go into this game realizing that it in no way resembles anything truly Wing Commander, and are prepared for a shareware style 2D space shooter with limited fun and potential, knock yourself out.

It is a cute concept, and it is functionally fine. It only stinks that the gameplay becomes a blur of tedious monotony after such a short period of time.

Harry Potter and the The Deathly Hallows - Part 1 lives up to the eternal tradition of games based on movie licenses simply not being very good.

This was probably one of the more interesting games in this genre that I’ve ever bothered to play, but after playing it for a few hours, I don’t think I’ll be spending a whole lot more time with it.

Not every comic book or movie needs to be turned into a game, and this is one Marvel character that falls into that category.

This is basically a cheap knockoff of a Wii game. It could have easily been included in EA's NHL 09 game as the “pond hockey” mini-game. That way NHL 09 would have the casual fan and hardcore fan base covered.

If you’re looking for a puzzle game with staying power you thankfully have a few other choices on the PSP. Smart Bomb is only for those with steely nerves, low blood pressure, and a lot of extra time on their hands.
