Easily the best in the series adding improved AI, stunning graphics, and persistent gameplay features like notoriety and weapon upgrades that carry over through all the missions.

An amazing game, and if you love heavy metal, Jack Black, Tim Schafer or any combination of these elements then this is a must-own adventure game infused with a thoughtful balance of action, combat, and real-time strategy. The story is epic, the landscapes are magical, and the humor is consistently present throughout the entire game from start to finish. This is heavy metal heaven!

From its dusty beginning to its explosive crescendo, Fallout: New Vegas may well be the best RPG of the year.

The fast button-pounding gameplay mixed with the strategy of stat-building and item-management makes this game fit in everyone's favorite category. Group this with a fantastic storyline, good voice acting and the addition of several multiplayer modes and you've got one of the best comic book games ever made.

It’s annoying however to be traversing through a level and then without any warning or because you were moving too fast you’re thrown to the bottom of the screen and death. I’m all for a challenge, but this kind of punishment simply is not good design.

Thief: Deadly Shadows creates a super-realistic environment and weaves a sinister storyline full of plot twists and plenty of suspense to create a game like no other.

I really loved Prince of Persia Classic. It was more than just your typical “enhancement” we find in so many other XBLA titles, yet it remained totally true to the source material while cleverly working in a few elements from the more recent console games.

The best thing I can say about Call of Duty 3 is that after playing I actually felt like I had been through a war. There were moments when I would catch myself physically ducking or leaning my body as I tried to look around a corner.

Part game, part reality TV show, part summer blockbuster movie; I can't recommend Split/Second highly enough.

Like most collections (and like most of life), this is a case of a handful of superstars flanked by quite a few ho-hum efforts that should have been sidelined in favor of better games from a wider array of genres.

Stranger will suck you in, much like his bounty collection device, from the opening tutorial and you won't be able to put it down until the final boss fight and surprise ending.

This game has it all. Fantastic solo gaming, endless online options, a console interface, SOCOM 3 connectivity, and even the promise of voice chat if I can ever find that PSP headset.

With an imaginative story, characters rich in personality, a beautiful design, and an impressive array of themes to explore, this game shines in a genre that already knows how to make video games the best they can be. I can’t recommend it enough.

For novice “simmers” you may be taken aback by the sheer amount of details and realistic gameplay, but veterans should be hungry for more sooner than later.

Red Alert 3 is a really enjoyable, high quality strategy game that has a few minor balancing issues. This is yet another sequel that is destined to become another classic in the ongoing Command and Conquer legacy.

If you’ve enjoyed space sims in the past and don’t mind the simplified combat engine then go for it. With its intuitive controls, attractive graphics, and lofty scope, E&B has a lot to offer the right gamer.

Annoying load times aside, I can't fault ModNation Racers for the nearly perfect package that it is, and for that reason I feel safe in proclaiming Sony's masterpiece the best kart-racing title in the history of gaming. Period.

When it works it works well and offers a very challenging online experience. The fun is hampered by both horrendous load times and the fact that you need a high-end system to coax performance from the engine. There are also some issues with unbalanced units, rampant camping, and the lack of any "functional" vehicles other than transportation.

MotorStorm: Pacific Rift is a great sequel that offers more of what we loved in the first game. You have more tracks and better designs and four unique environments, and with streamlined presentation and navigation, challenging AI, and awesome online play when the AI isn't enough, Pacific Rift is the arcade racer to beat.

    SSX
There have been a lot of imposters trying to corner the snowboarding market these past years, most of them going for realism over fun, but SSX is back and EA Sports continues to prove that if you want the most insane, over-the-top racing and death-defying stunts on the planet (or at least in nine locations on the planet) then you need look no further than SSX. This is snowboarding for the next-generation!
