The interactive and digital representation of an extraordinary ecosystem and of the decisive cultural and historical value that the authors wanted to allow all to explore, satisfying our playful and interactive needs, but always obliging us to live it deeply, with the dignity it deserves.

Mafia 3 is a title that should be tried to the end to be appreciated. The story of Lincoln Clay is worth to be played, because too often the narrative plot is put aside in favor of high resolution textures and stunning special effects.

Mario Tennis Fever presents itself to the general public with a convincing, polished look and a guaranteed entertainment value, regardless of the number of players involved. While the Story mode was a bitter disappointment, there's a wide range of other options that could keep fans engaged for a good number of hours, especially considering the accessibility and solidity of the gameplay. Some might initially turn up their noses at the further simplification of some mechanics, but we can assure you that after just a few games, you'll realize that Mario Tennis Fever's gameplay conceals a much deeper layer than you might expect.

It won't have the most innovative gameplay, but Enter the Gungeon is entertaining and inspired. Mixing the mechanics of Nuclear Throne with some "bullet hell" action, it delivers a solid roguelike experience, with a ton of unconventional weapons to have fun with.

Once the dust has been cleared, one could say that Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake is the same game released almost twenty-five years ago, simply given a thorough facelift. In reality, however subtle, the structural changes are significant in bringing this little masterpiece up to date, particularly regarding the combat system. All around, a series of embellishments demonstrate that Team Ninja didn't just do their homework, but tried to integrate as much as possible without distorting the authorial vein of the work. From this perspective, Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake represents an excellent example of video game preservation: a respectful restoration that doesn't rewrite the past, but simply makes it more accessible to the present.

Sumerian Six is a passionate and well-crafted homage to classic stealth tactics games, enriched by a fascinating fusion of mad science and the paranormal. Artificer's title manages to capture the essence of the pioneers of the genre, with the unique abilities of the characters and the variety of the missions that contribute to enriching the gameplay, which is engaging but not without some rough edges. While Sumerian Six performs well from a visual point of view, thanks to a distinctive graphic style, the plot and characterization of the characters would have benefited from greater depth. Overall, we are talking about a stimulating strategic adventure capable of offering surprises.

NBA 2K24 is one of those titles that is difficult to judge and above all to assign a numerical value that can balance its great gaming achievements and disappointing greed. On the one hand there is in fact one of the most beautiful basketball simulations ever made, on the other an online sector that in no way hides the excessive importance of microtransactions. The Mamba Moments and the Eras (with LeBron) are two splendid additions to a content offering with few equals in the sports sector, while ProPLAY technology on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series . In short, NBA 2K24 is one of the best sports games of this generation, and it is a shame that the intrusiveness of microtransactions inevitably ends up weakening the excellent work done on the gameplay.

Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless may not be the revolutionary chapter we were promised, but overall we are more than satisfied with the work done by the guys at Nippon Ichi Software, who after the various missteps made with the previous episode have rolled up your sleeves to get the series back on track. Some interventions seemed excessive and not always in focus, such as the reintroduction of the hospital, nevertheless the title works much better than its direct predecessor, also thanks to a more refined technical component, a main cast even crazier than usual and a handful of very innovative innovations. As long as you haven't developed an allergy to grinding, NIS's latest effort will satisfy your palates and give you hundreds of hours of entertainment.

No Man's Sky has no real flaws (except the star maps, really a disaster), but many limitations, but often due to his youth. It seems now clear that the objective of Sean Murray is to create another phenomenon a la Minecraft. The designer has already announced the arrival of terrestrial resources, the ability to build our own bases, even larger ships. Moreover, in a similar game structure you can add anything, including new variables, new land, new formulas to make things even more varied and surprising. No Man's Sky is not only gameplay, but there is something more, and that something is hidden in each of us.

Mortal Kombat 1 presents one of the best combat systems in the saga, creative, rich in variations, deep and complex. The Kameo system and the aerial combos are integrated naturally with the historical gameplay of the saga and provide a new and very interesting perspective on the bloody clashes between the members of the roster. However, the feeling is that NetherRealm has rushed the release, with a rather poor online component and a balance that is not always impeccable. However, it is a very solid episode, and an excellent starting point for anyone who wants to approach the saga.

The Crew Motorfest exudes passion for motors and everything that surrounds them. Not just mechanisms, sticky oil and metal, but also emotions, history, engineering and pilots. The title does not abandon the arcade nature of its predecessors, on the contrary, it strengthens it with a driving system that is easy to approach but more refined and interesting to master, convincing even if not realistic physics and a very respectable graphics sector. Furthermore, on PS5, Dualsense is a very high added value. It's a shame that to have fun even as a solo player you need to always be connected to the Internet, especially because so close to the launch it's difficult to get an idea about the long-term validity of the online game, which for now is promising but less interesting than the solo component. It's also disappointing for the lower recreational impact of vehicles other than four-wheelers and for the rather derivative soul. Certainly, Ubisoft seems to have revived the fortunes of an IP that risked being forgotten and which has now, instead, stepped on the accelerator.

The mechanics and interface of Headquarters: World War II recall old wargames from the 2000s, such as Battle Academy, while the visual spectacularity and wide environmental destructibility refer to contemporary RTS approaches. This combination ensures a compelling gaming experience, perfect for lovers of historical strategy games. There are some rough edges on both the technical and gaming fronts, yet the Starni Games formula is able to satisfy those looking for a challenge set during the Second World War.

MotoGP 25 continues to improve accessibility, offering a more balanced and engaging experience. The new Arcade system allows you to be competitive straight away, without having to master every detail of MotoGP and go crazy at every turn to avoid falling. The Minimoto, Motard and Flat Track are a great addition - although a few more tracks wouldn't hurt, as well as the new features offered by Career that make it even more exciting and deep. The sound of the engines has been improved, while the bikes continue to impress with their beauty, with careful details and improved visual rendering thanks to UE5. Although the progress compared to last year is less incisive, MotoGP 25 confirms itself as the best starting point for those who want to immerse themselves in the wonderful bandwagon of the MotoGP.

The latest chapter is an experience that moves in balance between continuity and timid attempts at innovation, which brings with it some shortcomings from the previous episode (above all a poor general cleaning and an unresponsive AI), but which manages to compose an epic full of events, situations and possibilities. In short, of fun. Anyone willing to turn a blind eye to some technical and gameplay edges will therefore experience one of those adventures that the skalds would not hesitate to sing in the Norse courts.
