Hearts of Iron 4 makes it hard to sometimes register what's happening on all the fronts, but gameplay is extremely engaging - and exciting, when watching the frontlines move. Paradox Interactive managed to create an atmosphere of overwhelming conflict, making it very hard to quit.

I was surprised how different Bayonetta Origins is from the main series, with strong gameplay and a nice atmosphere. It's clear that PlatinumGames knows very well what it wants to do with the franchise.

Shadow Warrior 2 is a great sequel. Even irritating dialogues and jokes can't hide the fact, that the combat is simply great and enjoyable. Every fan of dynamic shooting -- and slashing -- should definitely spend some time with the game.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided keeps you engaged and touches on some serious issues, with great combination of stealth and action to boot. Some elements have been improved and there's no shortage of new gadgets, but players expecting significant changes in Human Revolution's formula will be disappointed.

Lies of P neatly combines the most important elements of soulslike games while retaining its own style and personality. Satisfying combat system, unique world and high difficulty level will satisfy the most ardent fans of the genre, while a set of well-thought-out simplifications will help less experienced players find their way in the dark alleys of Kratu.

Successful remake: another entry in popular jRPG series, full of innovative ideas, fresh concepts, with extensive story and only a few drawbacks.

Stasis provides few hours of an engaging, dark adventure. Developers managed to create a poignant atmosphere, and even create fear - all in isometric perspective, unusual for a horror game. Traditional mechanics can be a put-off for people not used to traditional point'n'click games.

A solid expansion pack. Water cities can diversifying the gameplay and the new diplomacy system is finally the one we've been waiting for. Other major and minor additions keep you engaged and satisfied while conquering new worlds.

Perhaps the lack of innovation is disappointing, but the game is so good that it's hard to indifferently pass it by. Grey Goo is the essence of a proper RTS, gathering all the best and recognizable elements from many classic predecessors.

Translating tabletop Mordheim into digital world was a titanic challenge for developers from Rogue Factory, one executed very well. The only issue is the lack of factions, which - when published - will make the combat even more interesting.

Shadowrun Hong Kong shows the excellent level of skills in Harebrained Schemes. Although the title can't compete in terms of graphics with high-profile productions, and the gameplay model can still be improved, new Shadowrun is still a very recommendable game.

Despite being undead, vampires are a breath of fresh air in The Sims 4, even if it's the only expansion pack in our library. Developing and testing various abilities, creating new vampires and decorating the goth houses is just fun.

Salt and Sanctuary can be called a 'Dark Souls 2D' and certainly is more worthy of this name than the official Slashy Souls on mobile. Frustration, perseverance, joy, satisfaction - all present. Shortcomings are not serious enough to overshadow this specific kind of enjoyment, characteristic for Souls series.

Alienation is a beautiful and deadly spectacle. Gameplay is immensely fun, making it hard to stop exterminating more and more aliens. It is a pity that the developers could not achieve 60 frames per second or add a local co-op option, but the game is great nonetheless.

Lords of the Fallen is a solid soulslike, if at times a bit too safe. Hexworks' game neatly combines key elements of Dark Souls, Sekiro and even Bloodborne, mixing it all in a well-designed world, with a rich story and few original ideas. However, the game doesn't offer any major innovations, so it's unlikely to be a must-have for fans of the genre.

Far Cry Primal offers fresh and revamped atmosphere, but very little in terms of new mechanics. Thankfully, the core gameplay is still immensely satisfying, especially in later stages. Overall, Primal marks a step in the right direction for the Far Cry series.

Thanks to solid foundations of the first game, as well as mostly successful changes and new features, Warzone 2.0 is one of the best multiplayer games on the market. After ironing out technical issues - which will certainly happen, given the size of the franchise - we'll be able to safely call Warzone 2.0 an almost perfect game.

Saros is a fantastic roguelite shooter, although it doesn’t make quite the same impact as Returnal - mainly because of the many similarities between the two. It lacks that same sense of freshness, and its narrative layer isn’t nearly as captivating. Still, the combat, boss fights, and exploration of intriguing locations deliver an incredibly enjoyable experience that’s downright addictive. It’s definitely a game worth checking out.

Diablo 4 is certainly a tasty proposition for fans of the series, but their appetite may not be fully satisfied. Repetitive nature of side activities and their small rewards steer us towards the storyline, which initially also leaves a lot to be desired. Fortunately, the foundations for further development are solid, the combat is satisfying and the size of the world offers plenty to do.

Fans of Death Stranding will find more of what they know and love in the sequel - only bigger and better. Those who dismissed the series as a ‘delivery simulator’ probably won’t change their minds. But both camps are likely to appreciate the boldness and freedom with which Hideo Kojima continues to blur the line between game and film.

Despite few shortcomings, new System Shock is an exemplary remake. Nightdive managed to get rid of almost everything that made the original inaccessible, while preserving its unique identity. Still, it is not a game for everyone - one has to forget almost everything that games have taught us over the past decade.

It's hard to be bored while sabotaging competition's infrastructure and detonating underground nukes. Couple more buildings or patents would be a welcome addition, but Offworld Trading Company is already a complete, well-thought-out strategy.

Cronos: The New Dawn feels like a ‘Greatest Hits’ album - only instead of radio anthems, you get a blend of the best gameplay elements from classic survival horrors. Bloober Team may not have added quite enough of their own creative spin, but they’ve certainly delivered an intriguingly crafted world and an engaging story.
