    Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 2 - Innocent Sin
    Innocent Sin seems attractive; it's the long awaited opposite half to a cult classic, and it comes with a few bells and whistles to ease it into the 2011 landscape. While I adore the soundtrack and can appreciate the effort put toward a great localization, actually playing the game made me feel like I was trapped in some of the worst parts of 90's era game design. Interesting systems are in place but it's slow, aimless, and, and most of it has done much better in Nocturne or newer Persona games. Of course this is a known quantity to the Atlus faithful who will buy (and love) Innocent Sin anyway, but I'd caution an approach from a newcomer.

    Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection
    Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection's low price forgives the absence of modes and options we usually take for granted. The problem is it's also lacking what amounts to basic functionality. The arcade ports are lazy and desperately in need of a patch and the online interface was plagued with lag. The worst part is the higher your appreciation for Mortal Kombat's golden years, the more glaring Arcade Kollection's gaffs become.

    No More Heroes: Heroes Paradise
    If you never got around to playing the original on the Wii, or are just looking for an interesting, although flawed, game from the strange mind of Suda51, you can't go wrong with Heroes' Paradise.

    El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron
    El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron is a work of surprising confidence. Combat that favors leveling up the player's, not that avatar's, skill set is worthy of admiration, as is a wildly imaginative, frenzied art department that never allows their beautiful work to overstay its welcome.

    Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked
    Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked is a strong addition to the current lackluster 3DS lineup. Though it isn't truly a 3DS remake that utilizes all of the systems capabilities (including a very small amount of 3D), it does feature polished graphics, the addition of voice acting, and a new scenario to add to the multiple endings from the original version of the game.

    Madden NFL 12
    Madden NFL 12 doesn't break a 90-yard run past Madden NFL 11, but it does make sure that the route it runs is tighter and a lot more fun. With a deeper Franchise mode, a great online community option and better AI and collision, Madden NFL 12 offers a well-rounded football experience.

    Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition
    Street Fighter III Third Strike Online Edition is the best of the recently released Street Fighter games for PSN and Xbox Live. It maintains everything that made the original great, plus it adds solid online play and great depth with trials and challenges. It's definitely worth any hardcore Street Fighter fan's time and money.

    Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet
    Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet is a far cry from revolutionary (though it hardly seeks to be), and it's too linear and shallow an adventure for a game banking on the appeal of Metroid. Nevertheless, it's a tasty hors d'oeuvre that teases with sheer beauty and some clever gameplay concepts in the later areas. Its appeal is greater than the sum of its parts, even if it does leave you wanting more.

    Eidos Montreal did a superb job with crafting a nearly perfect product. Though not quite as groundbreaking as the original, DXHR certainly pays solid respect and homage to the series, and is a very welcomed addition.

    For Pac-Man and Galaga fans on the go, this is a nice release, but those looking for just Pac-Man Tilt or Galaga: 3D Impact, both cool games, they may want to catch this one on sale.

    Galaga Legions DX
    Namco Bandai did some really good things with Galaga Legions DX. They maintained the integrity of the original game and added some fun elements, including the ability to freely move anywhere onscreen, to make the experience exciting. I wouldn't choose this over Pac-Man Championship Edition DX, but it's still mindless fun if you need an updated classic arcade shooter.

    Gatling Gears
    It's hard not to like Gatling Gears. The pains of a worn genre and derivative mechanics are eased by a bright, inviting aesthetic and supported by an impressive attention to detail. Vanguard seemed more interested in creating their particular take on twin-stick shooter rather than doing something crazy with an established formula, and I'm strangely okay with that.

    Call of Duty: Black Ops - Annihilation
    These maps are pretty impressive and very well-designed. They range in size from small to large, and contain a lot of unique details. If you are considering expanding your Black Ops experience, the Annihilation Map Pack is the way to go.

    For a video game based on a film, Transformers: Dark of the Moon does well. It's a good action title that can be enjoyed by adults and kids. It's simple, easy to use and fun, though it doesn't stand out in any areas when compared to great action titles. It is worth at least a look.

    Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D
    The action is there and it's solid, but the package as a whole isn't enough to fully satisfy. The lack of story brings a hollow feel to this Resident Evil experience, as well as other small factors here and there. Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D delivers non-stop action, but it just can't bring enough substance in the gameplay to make the entire experience enjoyable.

    Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition
    I'm glad Capcom released the Arcade Edition and gave buyers a choice to get it via DLC or the full retail release ($15, $40). For avid Street Fighters, this is a solid purchase, but everyone else can do just as well holding out for a price cut.
