LIT is a sound puzzle game that features a charming and light-hearted horror environment. The puzzles never become dull and are difficult enough to where the players won’t feel that their intelligence is being insulted. LIT is a bit brief but players going back to beat their game’s goal times does offer plenty of replayability. Players should have a grand time with LIT as it provides plenty of simple entertainment.

As always, M2 did a superb job with the overall package of this Sega Ages release. Cool borders, screen filters, a clean and concise online manual, online rankings, and just all of the top quality production we’ve come to expect is included here. Still, I can’t say G-LOC Air Battle is a game I will play very often at all, but I am really glad that it got the M2 treatment and finally has arrived in a home release, decades after its original arcade debut.

Corponation: The Sorting Process is an interesting, albeit well-designed simulation involving simple gameplay and a handful of minigames to break up the monotony of the corporate nonsense lifestyle. While it didn’t peak in terms of pulling on my heartstrings or senses of dread that usually accompany dystopian narratives, it sufficed in keeping me enticed with its gameplay.

Blacklight: Tango Down is a good value for anyone who enjoys competing in heated FPS battles online.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate incorporates traditional roguelike gameplay in way that should familiar for most roguelike players. It just does so in a convoluted fashion. While I appreciate its attempts to fully immerse players in the world of TMNT, the story beats needed to be more frequent and fully realized to hit the emotional highs and lows associated with the series’ deep universe. Its couch co-op should be praised, however, as this is best played with friends.

Ninza has quite a bit going for it, most being positive. Its take on combat is refreshing, albeit requiring some mental burdens in relearning PvP that requires solely utilizing the environment to smoosh an enemy into smithereens. While I might have some reservations over how its cast of characters are implemented in-game, the UI, and its future content, one thing is clear: Ninza is quite the fun and addicting platform battler.

Battlezone: Combat Commander is a Wing Commander-like experience in a tank. It features a neat story, updated graphics, and some gameplay that might not quite achieve the longevity of entertainment that it desires. It does contain some interesting features to try and keep the gamer engaged, but depending on expectations of the gamer will equal out to whether that engagement holds up.

For all its flaws, Dynasty Warriors: Origins is still an enjoyable game. At its core, it does what it needs to do. Koei Tecmo delivered on their promise of 1 vs. 1000 combat, though not without neglecting other aspects of gameplay. Combat was enjoyable, though suffered at the hands of poor game design. There’s a strong premise here, but a lack of character development hampers the storytelling. Overall, if you’re the type of person who’s looking for some straight forward, high-intensity action, Dynasty Warriors: Origins might be for you—as long as you don’t mind some of its rough edges.

It's easy to admire and fun to play - for a fleeting thirty minutes. Subjective intangibles make the most of its run time, but a scattered definition of value makes Karateka a tough call for the uninformed or uninterested.

Bottom line is, Vandals is a fun game to have on your phone when you are trying to pass the time. Not a game where I am dying to play at any moment.

In a matter of weeks Anthem has marveled with its engaging action and technical incompetence. As a power fantasy, the game achieves many co-op thrills but the highs are often spread too thin over questionable design choices. BioWare's pedigree feels suppressed by a game that needed much more time in the oven.

It can be disappointing, but it's easier to view Lost in Shadow is an earnest effort with few great ideas rather than a fabrication forged of influence and familiarity.

Can you be angry at a game that examines frustration? Slow Down, Bull explores the aggressive relationship between creative inhibition and self-expression—and completely stresses the player out in the process. That's (probably) the point, but Slow Down, Bull may be a little too sharp to handle without an informed sense of patience.

Horizon Chase Turbo is simple fun that doesn’t offer up an overbearing challenge for its racers. It contains some good rewards, which help keep the player motivated, but needs to be just a bit deeper in the physics department. All in all, though, it’s a fun arcade racer.

Fat Princess prevailed through idiosyncratic charm and relative exclusivity. Fat Princess Adventures applies a similar style to a much more crowded space. Diminished returns were all but guaranteed, but, with a few friends, Fat Princess Adventures soldiers on as an enjoyable hack 'n slash.

Goosebumps HorrorTown is a good game for your phone. It’s not a game you need to be playing for hours at a time but a few minutes will provide you with plenty of entertainment. I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys the Goosebumps series. The content definitely appeals more to the younger generations but older generations will easily find the entertainment value in it. Goosebumps HorrorTown is now available for iOS and Android.

Virtual reality is an apt home for Battlezone's class of tank busting pandemonium. Appropriating its arcade doctrine, filtering it through 36 years, and then projecting it as a full-priced product may have been a reach. As an experience, Battlezone VR is neatly matched to its hardware. As a game, however, it doesn't (yet) have quite enough firepower to oppose any presumed opposition.

A good value for a pair of successful mobile games that come to PlayStation in their most complete form.

Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse‘s fair controls and slightly dated design are things I can accept because this is an old game that was given a layer polish rather than a complete overhaul. I’m sure its small pool of veteran players will appreciate bonus content like unlockable costumes and filters for the photo mode. But ultimately behind all that is a solid horror game, warts and all. And like many updated classics, this could potentially serve as a litmus test of whether a long-running franchise will receive a new entry. Maybe the same applies to Fatal Frame.

Megaton Rainfall checks the immense power of a god with the civil responsibility of an altruist. It's a strong pairing, and one that only fails through the volatile application of its singularity. Playing god can be exhausting when you're only capable of indistinct destruction.

Time with Grip follows a predictable slope. It’s amazing that a team dedicated years of their lives to recreating Rollcage in 2018. It’s surprising how good it looks and how effectively it replicates Rollcage’s take on arcade racing. It’s exciting that it contains a massive campaign with a bunch of different race styles. At the end, it’s distressing that Grip can’t maintain an engaging tone across its time with the player. Without addressing twenty year-old problems, it’s difficult to make a modern commitment.

In some ways, Threefold Recital does an excellent job in telling a thoughtful tale of beastlings bound to Daoist philosophy. In other ways, I was a smidge disappointed in the driving forces behind that storytelling and the simplicity of the platforming. It’s not the most memorable platformer outright, but if you’re in the mood for a compelling narrative with some light platforming and other minigames, look no further than Threefold Recital.

Tekken 7 is institutional progress and austere form cloaked in spectacle and absent of risk. Its periphery can’t keep pace with 2017 and its core feels like it’s running the same race Tekken already won almost a decade ago. This doesn’t stop Tekken 7 from being the best 3D fighter on current platforms, but it’s easy to stand atop a podium unchallenged by legitimate competitors.

Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns adds a good amount of kontent for MK1. Price concerns aside, the additions of Sektor, Cyrax, and Noob Saibot should be seen as a blessing for MK fans. It remains to be seen about the future of MK1’s story and the rest of the Guest Fighters coming soon, but this is a good step in the right direction for a larger-form kontent in year 2 of MK1.

King's Bounty: Crossworlds is the best version of the recent revival to the 20 year old strategy game. While it does provide a good amount of gameplay additions to the picture, the lack of a new lengthy campaign makes the game hard to replay for those who've already experienced Armored Princess.

Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two is better than the first game, but it still needs work to perfect the gameplay mechanics that hinder it. At the end of the day, kids will love this game, but maybe not hardcore gamers.

Pattern’s blossoming world and ethereal music, forever trapped in a constant state of flux, are pathways to understanding the ambiguous complexion of the creative process. It suggests that all ideas can be transitory as it explores the rivalry between indecision and confidence. The limitations are clear, by Pattern’s own admission it’s a fleeing experience, but with it comes the power to articulate one of the more abstruse processes of the imagination.

Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame 4 isn’t a bad game at all, rather it’s just an incredibly difficult one that leaves no room for novices to enter the dirt track arena. If you are a pro, then you’re going to find a lot to love about this game. The multiple modes work well, the track creation is solid, and the customization in the game is on point.
