Manages to make itself worth the $20 price tag by offering up an average level of everything -- from gameplay to graphics. It doesn't do anything exceptionally well, but it's a pleasant diversion for the price.

Controls are a bit complex for kids and too unoriginal for adults.

It's just a waste of a strong license. I really hope Chuck Palahniuk, the author of the book this mess is based upon, had nothing to do with ok'ing this game. Avoid at all costs, even if it's in the discount bin.

If you're a sim fan or have kids between 6 and 60, it’s a "must buy." Aging graphics, sound and slowdown are its only detractors.

The fluidity with which characters, vehicles, bullets and environmental objects move is astonishing, and when you couple that smoothness with location-specific Havok physics, the game looks much more believable than the first Halo, if not any game to date.

It's not the mind-blowing cultural phenomenon of a game experience that Halo 2, Half-Life 2 and DOOM III are (or at least promised to be, as the case may be), but it's a decent game that offers some fresh changes to the FPS genre.

The dialogue in Up Your Arsenal is as funny as ever, with some scenes that might have you rolling on the floor. The scene with Ratchet imitating pop star Courtney Gears is absolutely hilarious.

Buggy but not broken, generic but not ghastly, Killzone lacks anything beyond an average amount of appeal.

Almost enjoyable. It’s a shame they didn’t work harder to make it the action game it so badly wants to be.

Boost mode alone is worth the price of admission, but the rest of the game is solid too.

Just when you think you've had your fill of the survival-horror genre, something like this comes along, which restores your faith in the genre while leaving you shaking in your boots.

Like a really good comedy film, probably best suited as a rental.

One of those games that's good, but it suffers from being too niche to ensure it broad acceptance from gamers. Couple that with the fact that the Taiko Drum is yet another specialized controller that'll probably never see use again.

Fans of aircraft combat titles should really enjoy Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War. It's got a good storyline, top-notch presentation and a great gameplay engine. Fast action, furious combat and flying fun make this a game you shouldn't miss.

Even with the well-thought-out online options, the core gameplay is so basic, golf fans won't find this game interesting at all. If you're more the arcade sports player, on the other hand, you'll easily get your $20 worth from this.

While we're on the topic of spraying fire, Namco's made this even easier by letting you double up on your lead blasting abilities. In Crisis Zone, you can hook up a second Guncon (light gun) and go John Woo on the bad guys.

Maximum Impact isn’t a game I would recommend to anyone other than you hardcore KOF fans. There are much better fighting games out there with a lot more to offer for you others.

Feels like it should have been designed as a "Dynasty Warriors" clone. It would have done a wonderful job as such. The environments and character designs are beautiful accomplishments, and the sense of scale is an incredible feat. But the RTS aspects hurt the game badly.

Because of the shallow gameplay, I can't imagine anyone playing through this game once, much less multiple times. It's a simplistic romp into gaming nostalgia that won't appeal to anyone but the most retro of the retro-gamers out there.

The sticker slap is my favorite new addition. The trick takes the place of the wallplant and enables the skater to turn a wall into a pitstop on the way to a huge combo. Leaping out of a grind into a sticker slap will send a skater right back to the rail, where he (or she) can retrace the path that already produced a good line.

Practically three full games for the price of one. Seriously, you won't find a better value in games these days. And for those who were addicted to Tetris, Puzzle Kombat is going to steal away many hours of your life.
