Crush 3D is a fun, but tough puzzler that requires the player to think in convoluted ways to find the solution. Whilst it's not necessarily ground-breaking in visuals or sound, it has more than enough challenge to keep even hardened puzzlers going.

3D Classics: Kid Icarus is definitely worthy of its "Classic" title in this re-release for the Nintendo 3DS.

Zoo Resort 3D provides a nice twist on the regular type of zoo simulation game, but once the story mode is complete there is little pull for further gameplay, even with the added features of challenges to complete.

Capcom is no stranger to getting the most out of the hardware it develops for, and Resident Evil: Revelations is certainly no exception. A console experience in portable form, this scare-fest cements its place in the Resident Evil series with a solid campaign and highly addictive side mode, together with unyielding gameplay and plot mechanics.

The blue speedster, both past and present, delivers a solid first outing on Nintendo 3DS.

Whilst there have been cuts to the package, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 remains a solid title on Wii. The story has made it over completely and the multiplayer is as fun as ever, and will easily cut through any days of boredom. If you are into shooters, then this should tickle you the right way.

Ubisoft has done the unexpected, delivering an extremely solid movie tie-in with The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn. This solid platform adventure on Nintendo 3DS proves to be great fun throughout, despite its brevity, with pleasing extras and a great two-player race element.

Bugs 'N' Balls is yet another fantastic release from the ever consistent EnjoyUp! and yet another product from Spanish developers, this time CoderChild, that proves to be extremely addictive, despite being a very simple concept. Unfortunately there are a couple of elements holding this back, but overall it is a very pleasing effort for its extremely cheap price-tag.

1001 Touch Games may not quite live up to expectations, featuring watered-down editions of many much-loved gaming styles, but at a low price-point it definitely carries enough weight to push extremely weak DS puzzle releases down far enough to warrant some attention from DS owners.

If all you expect from your RPGs is groundbreaking graphics and tear-shedding cinematics, then Opoona is definitely not for you. On the other hand, if you look for a RPG that dares to stray far from the established rules of the genre, then this hidden gem in the Wii library might just be what you need, and is sure to provide loads of enjoyment -- as long as you know that it has some flaws before you jump in.

Chain Galaxy really has snuck into the minefield of Match-3 puzzle games out there on the Nintendo DS and managed to carve out a little nook to reside in, not garnering too much attention due to its humble nature, but managing to stay relevant thanks to great presentation and a highly addictive core quality that will keep players hooked for ages.

Sadly it has to be said that Jewel Link Mysteries: Mountains of Madness is a truly lazy effort, failing to improve upon frailties with the developer's previous Hidden Object and Match-3 products. Instead, both subpar game engines have been shoved together with some H.P. Lovecraft slapped on for show.

With Project Aces' first foray onto the 3DS comes a build that, despite a few engine hiccups, manages to provide more than its fair share of entertainment value, albeit as a sole skycrawler instead of a squadron force.

Just Dance Kids on Wii proves that the same formula can be successfully tweaked to appeal to a completely different audience, whilst not removing any of the core that helped make the main series so addictive.

Michael Jackson: The Experience 3D improves on the DS edition through its presentation and song choices, but whether it does in the gameplay stakes is more debatable. It certainly works and gets closer to dancing than the last attempt, pushing the 3DS release to be slightly better than the DS one, but it is perhaps more fiddly than it should be, and more songs are still a must.

ABBA: You Can Dance is a thoroughly entertaining package for both long-term fans of the Swedish pop sensation and those who simply love jiving along to infectious tunes.

Tales of the Abyss is a great addition to the series with a good story and excellent additions to gameplay. Fans of RPGs and especially fans of the Tales series will love the game, but so will newcomers; it's a great start to what may be a long line of excellent 3DS RPGs.

LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 continues the theme of wonderfully crafted adventures from TT Games, bringing together a solid adventuring foundation and the fantastical world of Harry Potter to deliver yet another fine experience for those who enjoyed previous LEGO games, as well as ones related to J.K. Rowling's work. An ageing formula it may be, but it is still one that works well enough.

Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D is a fantastic experience...while it lasts. Sadly, as with other impressive titles such as Nintendo's own Pilotwings Resort and Steel Diver, Capcom has delivered a high quality product with plenty of thrills and spills, but lacking in the vital longevity stakes for anyone other than die-hard score chasers.

Super Pokemon Rumble is an interesting diversion from the core Pokemon formula while 3DS owners wait for a mainline RPG, and the real-time combat approach feels quite visceral and satisfying.

A must for space shooter fans.

After a strong start with Valet Parking 1989, Zordix has managed to craft yet another simplistic action puzzle game with 1950s Lawn Mower Kids that will definitely appeal to anyone looking for a back-to-basics product. Unfortunately, though, despite having some intriguing gameplay mechanics, camera movement restrictions mar the experience overall, holding this back from being what it deserved to be - a cult classic.

Just like Power Paintbrush, Kirby Mass Attack is in the upper echelons of DS' library, proving that you can always teach an old pink puffball new tricks.

That said, Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games is still the party game to play with friends and family this Christmas.

Fans of the games don't want an overhaul or drastic innovation but just an understanding that Mario Kart needs to shift forward with bolder moves rather than tentative baby steps. Nintendo need to be braver in their thinking and stop considering the franchise along straight lines.

Square Enix and development team TOSE have delivered yet another superb entry into the series that may not challenge Pokémon in terms of worldwide sales, but certainly does match it in many ways in the quality stakes.

Nintendo made a terrific decision bringing in Grezzo once more to work on The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition, since the additions introduced have made for a lot of replay value to a game that you might not have picked up again for a while after beating it.

A certain Italian plumber should watch his back - Rayman Origins is as good as New Super Mario Bros. Wii and not far off from approaching the quality of some of his finest 2D adventures.
