  1. Characters in this series are ridiculous because they blend media of all types and use it for comedic purposes. This is what makes Future Man a series made for pop culture fans.
  2. Pharaoh was an underrated and underutilized player on “Saturday Night Live” and he finally gets to shine here. With great comedic timing, strong acting chops and charisma to spare, Pharaoh elevates White Famous, making it a series well worth your time.
  3. This sounds sappy, but this series doesn't pontificate. Inspirational and playful, it teaches its endearing lessons in an entertaining way. Filled with light humor and heart, Kevin (Probably) Saves the World is a show with potential.
  4. The pilot never finds its footing. ... Marvel's Inhumans has plenty of style but little substance.
  5. Young Sheldon is a smarter, more humorous and heartfelt show than "The Big Bang Theory." Adult Sheldon is entertaining, but young Sheldon is even better.
  6. You'll want to root for Alex because he's incredibly relatable. ... Me, Myself and I is funny yet touching. Easily my favorite new comedy in years, this series might just be the "This is Us" of sitcoms.
  7. While the series is initially disjointed, by episode three I had gained some insight into what MacFarlane was striving for with The Orville.
  8. Intense, mysterious, action-packed and flat-out fun, this series takes all the best aspects of earlier Netflix Marvel shows and rolls them into one great package.
  9. In letting their freak flag fly, the Duplass boys tried a little too hard to be all things to all genres and ended up creating a series that at best is mildly pleasant and at worst is unoriginal and tiresome.
  10. A lot of moving parts and conspiracies in Salvation keep things interesting, if slightly confusing.
  11. A program with intriguing characters that tell a taught and engrossing story, Snowfall is a promising new FX series.
  12. While Naomi Watts is a fantastic actress and gives a great effort, her character is so unpleasant and performs a series of irrational acts that she’s challenging to watch. Instead of being risqué, without clarity or a proper protagonist Gypsy is a series that just can’t seem to find its voice.
  13. Unique, humorous and with touches of warmth, this series might just be the sitcom of the summer.
  14. This mixing of diverse characters and locations allows relationships and characters to evolve in unexpected ways. The main character in The Mist, however, is fear. Fear begins to take over the town's inhabitants, and how the characters deal with it is startling.
  15. While I'm Dying Up Here is fictional and made up of composites from comic personalities, the characters will resonate with fans of the genre.
  16. Martin is clearly the star of the show, so any time he's on camera things click. It's when Nan goes to work where things can get occasionally off kilter.
  17. While it has its flaws, what I’ve seen so far has certainly made me curious enough to see how deep this particular rabbit hole goes.
  18. The Handmaid's Tale is a disturbing yet thought-provoking series that is sure to lure you in. Its content can be troubling, but a brilliant performance by Moss, a strong supporting cast and a fascinating storyline make for a series worth diving into.
  19. Season three maintains Fargo’s unconventional feel but in a way that’s even more engaging than previous seasons.
  20. This series has issues, but much like its titular character, if you can look past them you'll find Brockmire a true diamond in the rough.
  21. Marvel's Iron Fist gets off to a slow start. ... More concerning, however, is the lack of Iron Fist's signature moment. ... While it's a fun romp and stands on its own well enough, this new series is even more impressive when thought of as a bridge to a bigger world yet to come
  22. This newest Fox comedy isn't quite at the Brooklyn Nine Nine's level, but Making History is incredibly fun.
  23. Rarely does a TV series surpass its source material but this new version of "Taken" does just that.
  24. Big Little Lies is a tour de force, combining first-rate acting performances and excellent production values with elaborate story telling.
  25. At times, APB can feel a bit cheesy.
  26. To be sure, the comedy is initially dark, but there's more to this series than gallows humor. There's a silliness that Olyphant and Barrymore brilliantly pull off with their simple, sweet characters.
  27. Part buddy cop show, part drama, Training Day is a fun ride, even though it is a departure from its source material. The power of Bill Paxton refuses to be denied. This is a series worth checking out.
  28. The tone and pacing are all over the map, so it’s not always clear if Riverdale knows what kind of series it wants to be.
  29. While Frontier is aesthetically pleasing it doesn’t live up to its potential. The action packed trailer for the series is misleading and side characters easily outshine what’s supposed to be the headliner.
  30. The Young Pope really starts to click when Lenny's mentor, Cardinal Michael Spencer (James Cromwell), enters in episode two. When someone finally stands up to the power mad pontiff, the series excels. It still has it idiosyncrasies but much like the character himself, it takes some time to see the potential of The Young Pope.
