Aside from those tree huggers that cling to "classics," the average gamer of today would have little use for such long, drawn out RPGs that just simply can't compete with today's RPGs. There's a reason the RPGs are really popular now and that's because they've evolved from what they were.

Gamers should find that Tropico 3 is one of the better city-building RTS games to come out in a while, and although it may not be much different from its predecessors and its online "features" don't amount to more than social media "lite," what it does offer is simply solid and polished gameplay.

A two-player, online component would have really rounded out this title. It's lengthy enough as it is, considering that it can take you months to play, but there is a redundancy to the theme even as you add more spells and soldiers to your arsenal.

Despite some really nit-picky problems, Trauma Center: Under the Knife 2 is a fun, frantic game that's worth trying. Regardless of what type of gamer you are, you owe it to yourself to try out the madness that is Trauma Center. Once you start playing, you'll be a hooked.

A well-made and fun game that will put your vocabulary to the test, and at a price of just $5, it's a good buy for Risk and Scrabble fans. It will be especially fun for gamers who have friends online who share their tastes. However, some aspects of this game are quite frustrating, so expect Quarrel to become a pleasant diversion, not an addiction.

This short but delightful chapter offers a great entry point to the series and is worth replaying again once all the upcoming chapters have all been released.

You'll spend tons of time attempting to beat the online GamerNet challenges, and pushing yourself closer to The Masters in career mode. The only annoying part of this game is its DLC course selection.

Sure, the multiplayer is interesting and the unlocks might keep some gamers entertained for a while, but it won't be long before playing the same ten tracks on repeat becomes fairly monotonous.

Midway might have the best game out there if you base the game on fun and action alone. The game still has that feel right out of the movie "Slap Shot" with the mix of the more realistic hockey of the other guys.

This is the complete package, whether you're a beginner or veteran genius this title has no equal among the consoles. The tutorials are amazing.

As a Sims fans, I can confidently tell other fans that there's no way you won't like this game. The focus is sharp, deep and highly entertaining. It's like starring in your own reality show complete with all the idiots that make it interesting and infuriating.

A well-crafted, polished endeavor with gameplay that is enjoyable right down to its core, a charming aesthetic, and almost the exact opposite of a plot.

The one drawback is the control which screams for an arcade stick as the PS2 controller just honestly doesn't cut in terms of directional control.

Ultimately, I doubt I’ll remember Prey much after I stop playing it. There’s too much else going on in games in 2017, and Prey does not stand out amongst its peers. Its fiction is self-serious, despite being so derivative, and its systems are frustrating and constantly in conflict with each other. It feels like dozens of other games I’ve played already, but enjoyed more. Even when something interesting does happen, I still feel like my time hasn’t been respected and my brain hasn’t been stimulated as promised.

As a further refined version of Virtua Tennis: World Tour, this game is easily the best available for any handheld system. But having said that, it may not be enough of a difference for fans of the last game to part with their money.

At five dollars for three hours, this isn't a bad deal, and there's a lot of replay value for achievement hunters and those who want to see all the endings. The fact that you'll probably miss your deadline and have to start over is annoying, though.

The music is deliciously gothic. Disembodied moans, shrieks and groans emanate from your speakers and float around the room. The vibe is definitely chilling.

LittleBigPlanet 3 is by far the best in the series. It is the breath of fresh air the franchise needed going into the next-gen cycle.

It's blunt and silly, and that really describes the entire game. A popcorn flick of a Tom Clancy game if ever there was one.

While the story leaves quite a bit to be desired, the nut-and-bolts RPG gameplay and fun combat system make this a perfectly serviceable JPRG that genre fans will enjoy.

The story mode is fairly lengthy, and there are plenty of unlockables to keep you going. However, the lack of online play is regrettable.

Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee! and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! are an amazing glimpse into what a console version of the “core” Pokemon games will look like. It does such a good job of revitalizing an old game that I almost have to wonder if the entire point is to channel the wave of Pokemon Go players into the rest of the franchise. That said, this game is deep enough that I wouldn’t mind seeing its elements carry over into other games.

Much like Bioware's "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Middle-earth II" has been created from the ground up with the Tolkien fan in mind. Those who appreciate this incredible body of fiction will love being able to wage epic battles with the touch of a few buttons.

Prototype is one of the best games to release this generation and is definitely the best game to drop in 2009 (so far). Outside of the lackluster stealth and disguising mechanic, the brutal combat, huge open-world, varied challenges, and utterly satisfying gameplay makes this a must-have title for any serious gamer's collection. Get ready to put your life on hold!
