An intriguing mix of a traditional, written short story with a puzzle game. It lasts 3 hours at most and the mobile version is identical but cheaper. [02/2017, p.33]

A bundle consisting of a terrible, nightmarishly dumb movie, a remake of a rather mediocre 3DS game, and a prologue to Kingdom Hearts III is not the best investment you can imagine. It does show though that Kingdom Hearts and Unreal Engine 4 is a match made in heaven. [04/2017, p.72]

Despite good execution Flynn is not very exciting. It’s simply a solid and quite fun but also very familiar and not memorable platformer that tells a story about a fantasy world invaded by hellish forces. [12/2021, p.79]

The game, heavily inspired by Steve Wilson’s “Drive Home” music video, deals with feelings we all experience at some point – grief and helplessness after losing a loved one. It does a great job for most of the time but stumbles at the very end, as the last 15 or so minutes are unnecessarily bloated and unbearably metaphysical. [11/2017, p.49]

The sequel of a Monster Hunter spin-off will greet you with an expansive world to explore, a mechanic of training monsters that hatch from eggs (which resembles Pokémon games a bit), and a disappointing combat system. The combat is primitive, does not evolve in any way and long attack animations make it irritating. What might keep you playing is the game’s light, well-told story and tons of equipment to craft. It can get tiring in long sessions and doesn’t offer enough content to become your new obsession, but works great in co-op and has one of the most interesting combat systems in the genre. [08/2015, p.54]

Player’s impact is limited in Miitopia, as you rather watch the gameplay than participate in it. Despite that the game is never dull, just like similar Tomodachi Life a couple of years ago. The difference is that Tomodachi Life was genuinely funny in an absurd way, whereas Miitopia often made me smile but never caused a burst of laughter. [11/2017, p.52]

This game captures the magic of the tabletop original but does absolutely nothing more and the AI is half-baked. [CD-Action 03/2013, p.69]

Approach cautiously. Even if you like challenge, there will be times you won’t agree that the loss is your fault. Ugly visuals also don’t entice but the fantastic music, on the other hand, does so. [01/2020, p.57]

Curved Space is a visually impressive twin-stick shooter with a twist in the form of an unusual level design. First impressions were great, but the game lacks a spark that would keep me glued to the screen for hours. It’s splashy but not addictive. [09/2021, p.34]

A great, naturalistic alternative to Anno, though it doesn't quite reach the level of the greatest strategy games.

It’s a solid game, but tactical turn-based RPGs are generally in good shape lately and it’s not hard to find one that offers not only good combat, but also an immersive story which DR lacks. [01/2017, p.70]

I expected more new content from the third edition of Space Colony, but it’s still a good game that will keep tycoon fans happy with numerous possibilities of colony expansion, varied game modes and a decent campaign. [08/2015, p.59]

RoboCop: Rogue City is an uncompromising shooter that became my guilty pleasure. It might lack high production values or the spark of ingenuity, but you can clearly see heart and soul put into it. The game was obviously made by RoboCop buffs for RoboCop buffs, because the amount of fan service it contains is overwhelming.

Relics of War made me realize how much I need a Civilization game set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Gladius is not there yet, but it is on the right path. It ditches trade, diplomacy, religion and cultural development and focuses on the military side of things, which of course is in line with the setting. I did miss other strategic layers a bit, but the game’s main problem is that it offers merely four factions. Other than that it’s very decent. [10/2018, p.86]

The action is fast, spectacular and satisfying, but also short (especially for a roguelike), because I finished the campaign in around six hours and was left with a bland challenge mode. [10/2018, p.87]

It was made with true passion but at the moment it’s unpolished and unbalanced. The ambitions of Julian Gollop and his crew were clearly bigger than the game’s budget. [02/2020, p.38]

The best parts of Under the Waves are the moments when you can peacefully explore the depths of the sea and observe the creatures that inhabit them. The story about an evil corporation and a man who can’t cope with loss is clunky and introduces an unnecessary emotional weight that spoiled the whole experience for me.

The game’s title says a lot about its difficulty level. It is unfair and painful at times, but if you’re stubborn enough, Slain will captivate you and give you a lot of satisfaction despite its far-reaching simplicity and repetitiveness that goes with it. [02/2017, p.45]

Hands down the most original (in terms of setting, at least) first-person shooter of 2017. Slaughtering microbes inside a human stomach or liver is fun, but numerous bugs and repetitiveness in terms of enemies and gameplay itself made it impossible for me to thoroughly enjoy the game.
