Alf’s Escape is beautiful, quirky, funny and was a pleasure to jump back into. It’s an insanely tough game thanks to its brilliantly created puzzles, and their will certainly be dozens and dozens of deaths. I would certainly recommend Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty – Alf’s Escape if you like a challenge.

A great game that should be in anyone’s library. However, it does seem as though Omega Force focused too much on cosmetic additions, causing several aspects of mechanics to be hindered.

So.. Is the game a massive flop?….No. It just needs tweaking slightly in the right areas and given a patch or two to unlock it’s true potential.

After graphics the rest of inSynch kind of just falls apart. It’s more a game to be experienced then taken seriously for play.

The visuals are understandably rudimentary by today’s standards, but Buta san, with its bright colourful aesthetic and endearing cartoon design, stands as one of the better looking Arcade Archive releases and a welcome re-release for a game that the majority of Western gamers will have never heard of, let alone played.

Apart from the slow pacing, this is probably the finest space sim we’ve ever played.

Its gameplay is marred by the scoring system, the off-key notes, lack of song variety, and the amount of distractions. Being a rhythm game, that’s too great a toll.

If you're willing to immerse yourself in some very dark, uncomfortable places – the hopeless and suffocating thoughts of a lonely man riddled with depression – then this fascinating, bonecrushing portrait of a man on the edge may very well be an experience for you. Be warned – Actual Sunlight is definitely not for the faint of heart.

I would recommend this game if you liked Dead Nation as its easy to pick up and play in short or long gameplay sessions.

Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance has so much content it’s just at times amazingly overwhelming. The amount of quests to do is staggering.

As a short, exploratory (and possibly experimental) experience, Star Sky works well. Its £3.60 price point on the WiiU eShop makes it an enticing purchase and for anyone wanting to relax for an hour, it’s a decent choice. Just an ultimately forgettable one.

Overall Kaiju Panic is a vibrant, quirky and at times frustrating little title with big monsters.

As it stands, Rock Band 4 can only be judged based upon what is available today, and while the on the disk track list isn’t as impressive as that found on any of its predecessors, this is still a highly entertaining and finely crafted entry in the series.

It’s far from perfect, but there is something undeniably special about Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

I specifically like the ‘one life’ mode and the ‘timed’ mode which are pretty self-explanatory but just added that extra little challenge into an already fun game.

Standpoint may not be scoring any home-runs in the indie ballgame, but it could be a hit to some. A unique gravity mechanic helps keep it from falling under the overcrowded generic platformer category. Solid sound design and an original story may be enough for a fan of the indie puzzle genre to try this brain-teaser out.

If you are one of those hipsters of gaming who think that “platformers are not as good as they used to be”, let Ninja Pizza girl teach you a lesson and you know what: Even if you don’t particularly like platformers, you will probably enjoy this game.

Sublevel Zero is fantastic, it’s hard enough that you want to keep pushing yourself, although after a while it can get frustrating and a bit repetitive but it’s a game you can keep going back to, it’s cheap and hardly takes up any hard drive space, which is a bonus.

It’s a genuinely good game that, although may already be showing signs of age, is still a blast to play. It was not the first outrageously difficult platform game and certainly won’t be the last, but it definitely stands out on its own as a superb piece of work.

It’s not even slightly challenging as you always feel over powered and you end up simply not caring as you destroy everything in sight.

Nova-111 has some good things going for it, especially the vibrant style and enemy variation. I also enjoyed some of the combat elements. I thought that the game wasn’t as strong in terms of level structure or design and I wasn’t keen on the restricted field of vision.

To me there is no doubt that Q.U.B.E Directors Cut is a very decent Eshop offering. If you are looking for a unique puzzler with an interesting storyline and great presentation I would say you go a lot worse than this one for your money.

If you loved the original and want to go back some scifi horror nostalgia then i highly recommend you get the enhanced version as the changes are aesthetic and don’t take away from the game you loved as a kid.

It’s no match for Treasure or Cave’s finest examples of the genre, but judged on its own merits, this is a fine addition to the ever growing library of fantastic indie titles on the PS4 and another great shooter to add to the collection.

It’s combination of rhythm-based gameplay and endless runner-style mechanics is somewhat unique, and while it might initially appear a better fit for handheld gaming, a solid structure and selection of challenges ensures that it works surprisingly well on a home console.

Still, despite that holdover from its original iOS design, Leo’s Fortune nonetheless remains a hugely entertaining platformer with great visuals and charm in abundance.
