To have an enemy offer words that, upon one’s interpretation, is either a threat or a form of encouragement, exemplifies Anodyne’s deliciously surreal tone.- Arcade Sushi

It’s hard to recommend such a limited game, but Attack of the Spooklings’ fast gameplay is surprisingly addictive, and if new options are added it really might become something awesome.- Arcade Sushi

The only thing that really holds the game back is that the cases can be solved pretty quickly.- Arcade Sushi

Sqwords boasts about the replayability of the game focusing on improving your time, but where’s the fun in that? You already know where the letters go, of course you’re going to improve your time so it’s kind of pointless. There might be some replayability there, but it’s of a low quality, keep-you-busy kind of replayability.- Arcade Sushi

Diner Dash Rush is easy to pick up and put down. There’s absolutely nothing complicated about its game play, but for some reason, in the middle of all this customer madness, one’s adrenaline is bound to spike.- Arcade Sushi

The only reason why this did not score below a 3.0 was because of its historical accuracy and its ability to have hundreds of soldiers on screen fighting all at once.- Arcade Sushi

There’s so much to do in Siegecraft TD that you could be occupied with placing towers around grounds for quite some time.- Arcade Sushi

If only a virtual thumbstick or something similar was implemented, the game would be a lot more fun to play. But as it stands, it’s kind of just a cumbersome shooter with pretty graphics and an upgrade system designed to entice you to spend your money on in-app purchases.- Arcade Sushi

If the Van Der Veer team would have focused on adding variety and more depth to the squad missions, this game would have been a much better experience.- Arcade Sushi

Contra Evolution is exactly that. It is an evolution of the classic with some updated graphics and some tweaks to the controls. Contra Evolution is a solid retread of a classic that adds a couple new features to keep the things interesting. But the somewhat tricky controls hold it back from being absolutely perfect.- Arcade Sushi

A really great shooter for the iOS that expands the offerings in the App Store. It’s fun, exciting, and handles great. But, it lacks its own identity and much of the time, you might find yourself craving after your console and the disc for another video game that has already been out for quite a while.- Arcade Sushi

Samurai Shodown II is basically a straight port of a classic game to the iOS. It doesn’t do much to optimize the new hardware of current mobile devices and that’s where the title falls down a bit. It is nice to see an old cult classic still breathing and, in spite of those damn controls, Samurai Shodown II for the iOS is still a lot of nostalgic fun.- Arcade Sushi

It’s not just retro, pixely platformers that deserve the port treatment. Colin McRae Rally was and still is a good racing game. The speed and handling remain just as tight as ever, and the game is sure to keep your hands sweaty as you try and keep your ride ahead of the competition.- Arcade Sushi

Its progressive upgrades and zany nature are reminiscent of other great mobile titles like Punch Quest and any of the games by the Adventure Time people. If simple and weird is the way you like it, and you don’t mind wrestling with the controls, then Zorbie might be ze thing for you.- Arcade Sushi

Puzzle Pirates is one stop shopping for gamers. Whether its multiplayer challenges, mini games, upgrading tasks, or cutting a destructive path on the high seas, the game’s goal is to fully immerse us in its expansive world. Sega America has a winner on its hands with this engaging journey, and suddenly it’s a pirate’s life for me.- Arcade Sushi

Kingturn RPG Plus is a worthy turn-based strategy game, if that is your thing. If you aren’t familiar with the genre, then you’d best look for a more accessible introduction.- Arcade Sushi

Ultimately, Mad Dragon is an uninspired but charming title most people can enjoy for free. As with most free iOS games, players will eventually reach the harsh conclusion that you cannot get the things you want most from the title (that afro-wig!), without having to spend money for supplementary in-game content.- Arcade Sushi

If you’re a fan of mysteries and locked-room games, this one’s definitely for you. There’s a lot to do and it could take you a while to solve everything. But there’s something about the game that just keeps you enraptured and wanting to chug along, despite the fact that you might have prior obligations.- Arcade Sushi

If you absolutely loved Aladdin and would like some form of a modern game that follows in a Cave of Wonders-esque adventure, then Treasure Tower Sprint is an inexpensive choice that would occupy time. Otherwise, I’d rather just keep the dollar and not chase peacocks.- Arcade Sushi

Giving us two different prices is also a rather blatant form of game gouging, especially when there are a healthy amount of in-game purchases to be had. Even with these complaints, Icebreaker: A Viking Voyage is still worth a look, especially if you have three bucks to blow.- Arcade Sushi

As disappointed as I was in the experience, I can’t help but look forward to future installments. There’s a lot of promise in Spiral and I’d like to see where the story goes and whether or not Pixel Hero Games will tighten up the controls. For now, I’ll rate Episode 1 with a modest 6.5. Let’s hope that subsequent episodes warrant higher scores.- Arcade Sushi
