Think of Threes! but with match-three RPG elements like Good Knight Story, and that is pretty much Dungeon Tiles. And boy, let me tell you, it’s a great combination.

This is a fun game that is similar to a castle defense game, but has arcade shooter elements to it as well. It is entertaining and exciting, but not challenging at all.

Despite the minor flaws, Sparkwave is a delightful game for fans of the twitch reflex genre.

Coaster Crazy is a lot of fun, especially for people who love RollerCoaster Tycoon. I've been waiting for a version of that game to come to iOS, and while Coaster Crazy isn't the same game, it's a great substitute.

The visuals are beautiful, quirky music and sound effects make the game even more fun, the gameplay itself is challenging, and the controls are responsive. However, since the game is a free download, it does make use of an annoying energy system (batteries) and sometimes the levels seem so difficult at first that it feels like the game is pushing you to get some in-app purchases to help you out.

If you are a fan of other Crescent Moon titles like The Deer God and Almightree: The Last Dreamer, or just enjoy Zelda games, then you’ll get a kick out of Legend of the Skyfish.

The puzzles themselves start off easy enough, but then things gradually pick up and become intricate and challenging. It’s just a perfect treat for puzzle lovers. I highly recommend not writing off Dream Machine : The Game just because it looks like Monument Valley. The game has a familiar style, but plenty of new mechanics that make it into its own challenging game.

I highly recommend checking out Telepaint if you’re a fan of portal-based puzzle games with a lot of charm.

The stunning graphics will just suck you right into the action, and it's definitely a fun challenge.

The minimal style is aesthetically pleasing, and the colors are eye-catching. However, if the colors are too bright when you play in the dark, there is a Night theme that you can switch to in the menu to turn everything into grayscale, which is a nice addition. The music is soothing as well, so it’s easy to put your attention into solving the puzzles. Controls are intuitive and responsive, the myriad of puzzles can be fairly challenging, and the gameplay mechanics are introduced at a gradual pace that never overwhelms. The only thing that is missing are hints for those who prefer immediate gratification when it comes to puzzle solving, but I think it’s better this way since there’s no way to squeeze more money out of you for hints through in-app purchases or watching ad clips. And as I said, everything can be solved by trial-and-error.

Vignettes may appear simple on the surface, but the game is much deeper than that once you start, and it ends up being hard to stop. Plus, the interactions with some objects provide fun extras, such as rescuing cute cats, time travel, selfies on a mountain, and more. They’re not exactly obvious, but part of the fun is discovering all of these secrets for yourself.

This is a fun platformer, and hey, it's Woz and Trejo in a game together, on a rampage. What more do you want?

This is a fantastic game and it is great to see that the developers have given us an iPad version. The graphics are cute, the puzzles are challenging and the overall atmosphere of the game is good, clean fun.

The game’s simple and clean visuals are aesthetically pleasing, the sound effects are a nice touch, and the gameplay is simple but difficult to master — as is any good and challenging game.

If you like castle defense games and have an affinity for lasagna-loving orange tabbies, you will not be disappointed.

All in all, if you're a tower defense fan, you probably don't need me to tell you to pick up this game. It's everything that you would expect from a sequel to one of the most popular iOS tower defense games, and if you don't mind that it is iPhone only, it's a must download.

I play puzzle games to unwind, relax, and just take a breather from life. With .projekt, I get just that. I'm also a fan of minimalism, so the graphics are lovely to me and the music delightful. The intuitive controls make the game easy for anyone to play and enjoy. And when I want to unwind with a puzzle, I don't like to be pressured or rushed, so the whole play at your own pace thing works well for me.

Nanuleu by Selva Interactive is a minimalistic strategy game that showcases the never-ending war between ancient magical trees and the dark forces that try to consume them. If you enjoyed games like Rymdkapsel, then you will enjoy Nanuleu.

The game is beautiful, simple, and incredibly challenging.

As someone who hasn't played Project Highrise before but appreciates tower building sims, I am loving the game so far. I'm still just in the shallow end of the game, but I'm enjoying it greatly so far. The visuals are great, the music is delightful, and the controls are optimized for this kind of thing. I can easily see myself picking this up whenever I have some time around the house and just losing myself for a few hours just building my dream tower.

I'm definitely enjoying this game in time for the holiday season, but I would like to see optimization for the iPhone 5 screen in the future.

Even though this is a much more casual RPG, it is still a lot of fun to play, and is great for playing during downtime.

It’s fairly difficult, which is to be expected from a bullet hell shooter, but because of the roguelike elements, such as randomly generated runs, it’s refreshing and even more challenging since you can’t predict what comes next. Even though the boss battles wreck me, I still can’t help but keep coming back to it. The Daily Run also gives you something to look forward to each day, and the arena is a nice way to just practice and get better. And as a fan of pixel art games, the graphics are top-notch and some of the best I’ve seen lately for a bullet hell space shooter. And who can resist a great metal soundtrack? The only downside to Steredenn is the fact that you can’t play your own music while you’re in the game, even if you turn the music and sounds down completely. Hopefully the developers can change this in a future update, because while the metal soundtrack is great and all, sometimes I just want to listen to my own tunes.

Slydris is fun and challenging, and I'm pretty sure that I'll be playing this for quite some time.
