TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge not only recreates the joy of encountering a Ninja Turtles classic arcade game from back in the day but perfectly mixes in modern-day conveniences like advanced combo controls, a multitude of moves, and characters that genuinely feel like they play differently for a more varied experience. Combined with all the deep cuts to the original 1987 cartoon and a powerful soundtrack featuring many songs from surprising sources, you have a powerful love letter to a long-running franchise you’ll want to return to again and again.

Neon White introduces many interesting ideas but arranges them in front of you like items at a garage sale. The stage design is simplistic, the gameplay gets old quickly, and the characters and dialogue feel like they’re about a decade or more misplaced with references to pop culture icons that are no longer en vogue. Neon White is an interesting play but, ultimately, it feels like you’re playing a tech demo for something that is supposed to be much bigger.

Hatsune Miku Project Diva Mega Mix+ isn’t quite the PC port we would hope for but it is a great start for the series or for PC players to dip their toe into the Weeb-fueled rhythm game.

Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds is an absolutely beautiful game that feels like you’re in a Studio Ghibli rendition of Sword Art Online. The story is clever, the animation and character design are top-notch, and the soundtrack, vocal work, and lighting effects are all stellar. Small gameplay issues aside, the biggest problem is Netmarble’s shameless need to take a beloved thing like Studio Ghibli and convert it into a way to pull more people into the crypto scam.

It’s easy to get lost exploring the giant maps in Rebellion’s Sniper Elite 5, and it’s been a while since I’ve played a game where I lost track of time. The collecting part leaves something to be desired, but the co-op and invasion gameplay modes more than make up for that.

While there isn’t anything to make Evil Dead: The Game stand out among the other asymmetrical survival horror games, what the game does, it does really well. However, that sameness will get old fairly fast.

Roguebok is a card-based roguelike that takes many elements from successful games like it but fails in its execution with them. Muddled sound, blurry graphics, stuttering animation, illegible text, no accessibility options and an overly boring story makes this a game I’d probably just avoid completely.

Although the graphics can sometimes leave a lot to be desired, the gameplay is a lot of fun, immersing the player in the intricate politics of vampire society. And you get some wicked powers too.

The Serpent Rogue offers a fun and relaxing game that is part adventure and part sandbox. Whether you’re here for the gameplay or the atmosphere, I think you’ll enjoy your stay.

In Nightmare is a beautiful landscape touching on the process of working through trauma and bad memories. With stunning visuals and incessant monsters, you’ll feel like a child again.

If you have never played Stanley Parable, you’re in for an excellent ride. Even if you have played it previously, you’re going to find a wealth of new content that has masterfully snuck itself in after several playthroughs, waiting to strike when you’ve all but fallen into your regular routine. Stanley Parable is still a masterclass in narrative storytelling and is absolutely worth revisiting (or visiting for the first time).

The big hits are back and just as good as I remembered. Volleyball and soccer also medal in this version. However, Nintendo Switch Sports is lacking in overall content out of the gate.

Despite minimal storytelling, Dislyte is a refreshing and unique free-to-play mobile RPG. The characters are all unique and interesting enough that sometimes even a bad gacha pull is still worthwhile. The blend of a unique environment of the futuristic realm of five years from now, mixed with the club scene look of the world and characters and the amazing EDM soundtrack makes this such a solid change over the standard fantasy RPGs.

Kombinera promises a classic Atari experience and delivers on that. With the help of developers Graphite Lab and Joystick, they’ve created a puzzle game that constantly delivers enough twists over time to stay fresh. If you’re looking for a classic Atari experience and a solid puzzle game, this is for you. I’d have loved a bit more personality to it and the option to tone back the moments when bright colors assault you between worlds but the game itself is a very clever puzzle experience.

If you are looking for a game with a lot of substance, then Who Pressed Mute on Uncle Marcus isn’t the game for you. But, if you want to kill a few hours trying to solve a mystery, then you can do a lot worse than trying to save your favorite uncle.

Despite a brand new world and switching from 2D to 3D, Kirby and the Forgotten Land is the traditional Kirby experience you know and love. This is a by-the-books Kirby game in an exciting new world, and it’s an experience you can share with your family — especially with how well the co-op mode is implemented.

A Memoir Blue is a very personal story that paints a beautiful picture and emotionally captures players.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is a fantastical reskin of Borderlands filled with charm, humor and lots of action. The fantasy theme is enough to keep things feeling fresh, but still familiar to series veterans. Gearbox delivers another solid looter-shooter RPG but with a more welcomed emphasis on the role-playing aspect.

Ghostwire: Tokyo is a beautiful and eerie jaunt through the streets of Japan, coming face to face with lore and legend while fighting for your own quest and purpose. With seamless gameplay and fighting mechanics, 40 hours of exploration will seem like no time has gone by and it will leave you wanting more time running the glistening streets of Shibuya.

Although I, personally, found the content unsetting, from a gameplay standpoint, Gal*Gun: Double Peace delivers on what it says it does. It’s a pervy take on the classic rail shooter that can be beaten in about two hours. Multiple endings and unlockables increase replay value. Enemies engage in repetitious actions and their variety lacks, but the boss fights are enjoyable. It’s the stuff leading up to them that is just bizarre though.

Despite having a clunky interface, the game itself is wonderfully well crafted. The dirt and terrain feel very real and learning to control yourself is both challenging and rewarding without ever getting frustrating. The DualSense controls are an absolute benefit to playing the game on the PlayStation 5 by allowing haptic feedback to the bike itself in a very well crafted and realistic way. Character customization suffers pretty hard but beyond that and the interface, the experience itself is really well done.

If you like the indie feeling of a dark and dreary walking simulator with no actual need for a camera, then 35MM may be the game for you. However, it seems maybe PC is the better home for it.

It may be a few years too late, but WWE 2K22 improves on the series in almost every way. The combat system being changed and made more reminiscent of a fighting game makes the matches faster and more exciting.

Even though the game itself looks stunning and sounds beautiful, the movement mechanics are eye-twitchingly slow and there is a game crashing checkpoint bug. While not as disturbing as people claim, the story of Martha is Dead is a punch in the gut for sure.

A treat for the eyes and brain, Triangle Strategy is a delightful and deeply engrossing experience. It perfectly balances each of its gameplay aspects and is elevated with a rich lore that makes you want to keep playing. A masterfully crafted game from bottom to top that any Switch owner needs in their collection.

The King of Fighters XV is great game with awesome animations and deep systems, but it lacks beginner friendly, or any form of, learning tools to let newer players get in the game.

Horizon Forbidden West is a delightful follow-up to Zero Dawn with drastically improved graphics and new additions to the gameplay mechanics. While the gameplay can get a bit repetitive and the story doesn’t hit quite as hard as the first game’s, it is an enjoyable romp through a wasteland teeming with machines.

Lost Ark could feel like too much of a good thing and overwhelming with the amount of gameplay mechanics. But it all merges into an addicting gameplay loop filled with exciting set pieces, fun and customizable classes and attacks, and enough varying content to keep you happy for the foreseeable future.
