A memorable but brief stay in feudal Japan with a quest that could be finished within six or seven hours.- All Game Guide

Much like Myst, the puzzles in Riven usually offer no explanations or any hints as to why you need to do them and what it will do. Most of them are extremely vague and illogical which leads to a very frustrating experience.- All Game Guide

Combines great graphics, real-time strategy and an intriguing plot (our own history!) to raise a phoenix from the ashes of wayside, ordinary strategy games.- All Game Guide

A few more single-player missions, a deeper story line, interactive backgrounds, and some additional tweaking on the technical front could have pushed the game over the top.- All Game Guide

In addition to multiple difficulty settings and configurable graphics and controls, DOOM II features online support. You can challenge opponents via modem, LAN or a supported IPX protocol to a brutal, no holds barred deathmatch competition.- All Game Guide

The four-button (as opposed to six-button) control scheme takes some getting used to, but the game captures the spirit, the fun, the intensity, the depth, and the overall look and sound of the original remarkably well.- All Game Guide

Like its PlayStation predecessor, players can customize the difficulty level, game speed, and other options, or they can challenge a friend in two different ways: via Game Link Cable or on the same system.- All Game Guide

Just expect the fun to be frequently interrupted by inexplicably bad passes, ball-hogging, and non-existent defense.- All Game Guide

It simply improves on the original's shortcomings and keeps what works. It may have been a conservative approach, but it's definitely a satisfying one.- All Game Guide

Where Rayman 3 succeeds, however, is in borrowing an wide assortment of proven concepts from past platform games, injecting them with a whimsical sense of humor, and creating tough but doable challenges sure to make younger gamers wince and older players smile with knowing respect.- All Game Guide

The game is ideal only for those who are interested in the PC phenomenon but can't (or won't) play it on a PC. The rest of us will be duly impressed, but may ultimately decide to get a life elsewhere.- All Game Guide

While Wipeout Fusion does not stray too far from the formula created by the original, the small pieces it does alter often detract from what made the previous titles so great.- All Game Guide

While Ace Combat 2 is loads of fun, it can get a bit monotonous. Essentially, the mission objectives are all the same (blow up the enemy) and this could lead to some boredom. If you look into this game, be sure to play it in moderation -- play a few missions a day and then give it a break for a while.- All Game Guide

A solid baseball game that grows on you the more you play it, thanks to the great computer AI and the deceptively simple batter-pitcher interface... Yet the new graphics, sound, and menu navigation are still not up to the level the PS2 is capable of.- All Game Guide

If you're looking for some intense but uncomplicated racing action, Ridge Racer 64 is nearly at the peak of straight up racing action on the Nintendo 64. With a wide variety of tracks and plenty of hidden cars to unlock there's a lot to see and win over the course of the game.- All Game Guide

Extreme-G is what more titles should strive to be: something that is just plain fun to play. What it is about this game that makes it so great -- maybe it's the fact that the control is very precise, maybe it's the sheer thrill you get from traveling at 400 miles per hour on a sleek, futuristic cycle, or maybe, just maybe, it's the thumping bass beat that makes the racing even more enjoyable.- All Game Guide
