Full of promise, with a textured plot premise and unorthodox, and at times, stunning visuals. But the sub-par execution of the confusing backstory and lethargic gameplay, confounded by the limited viewing perspective, sinks this release right from the outset.

There are some good ideas, like the grouping banner and the ability to plunder, that should’ve come off a lot better, but instead thwarted the gameplay.

Only dedicated fans of side scrollers should tackle this title, as even those enamored with the titular character will be disappointed by the lack of new developments for the Strider franchise, especially after such an extended wait.

The combat is engaging, but it grows repetitive and is extremely time consuming.

Starts off slow, gets really good, and then quickly descends into repetitive drudgery.

There is just so much promise that it's almost unbearably painful to see that potential crippled by a complete and utter lack of content.

The graphics are pretty and you get what you came for - cheap, mindless action. If you want even a smidgen more, however, pass.

Unfortunately, for all its intensity, the experience will be very brief indeed as the lack of a multiplayer mode virtually cripples this content-light cartridge.

A straight vanilla shooter. It does many things well, many things not so well, but nothing exceptionally.

Below average in every sense of the term; the title contains some interesting gameplay mechanics and concepts, but never executes them with any measure of success.

As a finished title, it falls short. Basic graphics, a limited storyline, and non-existent sound and music make it seem as though the game is still in production.

Solid graphics and music, decent level design and clever use of vehicles. The Achilles' heel is clearly the squad mate artificial intelligence, which virtually ruins the whole play experience.

Great production values aren’t enough to raise Impossible Creatures from being a mediocre exercise in button pushing, as it’s high on glitz but short on actual strategy.

Despite the presence of distinctive licensed racing classics, the actual driving experience is both bland and homogeneous.

Driven's acceleration feels sluggish as it tries to drag the combined weight of unresponsive AI, strange physics, overly unforgiving challenges and pedestrian multiplayer modes.

This is as close to a bare-bones racing simulation release as I have seen these days, with minimal choices of vehicles and tracks, limited menu selections, dated graphics, sparse sound effects, and no music.

Primal tries to interest gamers with its Viking and fortress theme, but without smooth camera controls and decent pathfinding, the effort feels a bit wasted.

While a part of the gameplay is absorbing, and the graphics and puzzles are noteworthy, there is no lasting impression communicated, so you never really care much about the outcome.

The Carmageddon series has clearly run out of steam. Providing the same old cheap gore and guts does not have the same impact in 2000 as it did in 1997.

Yet the experience, for all its addictive qualities, still feels lacking due to its slow pace and the absence of vehicles and space travel.

A middle-of-the-road little action shooter -- nothing more, nothing less. It has enough charm to make it kind of fun, and enough senseless violence to leave an impression, but that's about it.

This is not a bad game, but Westwood's real-time strategy titles are beginning to suffer the curse of Lara Croft -- they're getting old. There's nothing new here except for the gorgeous visuals.

With nothing really novel to offer, and a short gameplay experience with few characters, locales, or tantalizing puzzles, this adventure-puzzle game is best suited for novice adventurers.

"Bang! Gunship Elite" proves yet again that eye candy alone cannot sustain a title, as the vast majority of its gameplay proves to be extremely tedious.

Its beautifully rendered backgrounds and intriguing premise aren't enough to cover the fact that the program resembles an early 1990s point-and-click scavenger hunt, released ten years too late.

All this title truly needs is the influence of a few sadistic minds to extend the lifespan with complicated tasks, and give you a sense of satisfaction for making it through hellish platform puzzles.
