Had the absurdity of the setting been more efficiently exploited for humor value, the many shortcomings might be more easily overlooked. As it stands, this title comes across as a last minute, off-the-cuff port from consoles to PC that skimped as often as possible.

It’s crippled by horrendous A.I., murky movement speeds, agonizing loading times, dated graphics, quirky controls and poor network code.

    • 30 Critic Score
Every single aspect of the game falls short of the industry average. What was supposed to be an adrenaline-fueled trip through the heady yesteryears of prohibition and mob rule is instead a tedious grind through repetitive and uninspired drudgery.

While it’s unlikely that the inferior graphics and sound would turn away any serious strategy RPG fans, boring gameplay mechanics and glitchy implementation should do the job.

Not only are its production values low, but also its design decisions are questionable. None of the many highly touted injected wrinkles - the mini-games, Euphoria mode slowdown, cash purchase system, or whip-toting sidekick - have the desired positive effects on the gameplay.

For anyone new to the genre, this isn’t the best place to start due to the technical flaws and PvP griefing. Even veterans of the online role-playing genre will find the many errors impeding their fun.

War Times struggles along and ultimately becomes a casualty of its own conflicts. The shallow tech tree, paucity of unit types, ineffective pathfinding and tedious gameplay make enjoying it a losing fight.

    • 40 Critic Score
The foul language, twisted humor, nudity, gore and violence are beyond what most gamers will appreciate, unless "Postal" is your idea of fun. When compounded by the obscure hotspots, redundant puzzles, archaic control system and strictly linear gameplay, the audience for which this offering would be a treat becomes really small.

The offering boasts masterful artistic design and a beautiful score, but fails in the most important aspect - gameplay.
    • 63 Metascore
    • 40 Critic Score
Its logic flaws and thoroughly vexatious difficulty are so omnipresent that any gains made via technology are completely overshadowed. In trying to mix strategy with action, a sense of identity got lost in translation.

    • 30 Critic Score
Borrows some ideas from the original game, mixes in lackluster graphics and sound, and tops it with awkward design choices.
    • 58 Metascore
    • 40 Critic Score
Gets marks for depth and scope, but unfortunately so much of the detail goes to waste due to the frustrating interface, horrendous learning curve, and sparse gameplay options.

The severe lack of duration, difficulty, and a decent multiplayer mode hamper the value you'll get out of a purchase.

A bland experience with nothing innovative to free your mind from concentrating on the annoying aspects of the gameplay.
    • 55 Metascore

It is neither a compelling first-person shooter, nor a worthy role-playing experience, failing on both fronts.

The visuals, sound and even the gameplay itself hold potential, but almost every aspect of the latest Tomb Raider feels incomplete.
    • 44 Metascore
    • 40 Critic Score
The unnecessarily tedious unit movement coupled with the debilitating difficulty level of many battles leaves this title stranded with too many moments of frustration for the average user.

With a little elbow grease and perhaps a dash of maturity, Postal 2 could've been a harrowing psychological tale of one man's collapsing psyche. Sort of like the movie "Falling Down" realized in an interactive 3D environment.

The vexing controls and camera system, combined with the poor enemy AI and simplified combat, make even a weekend rental of Dark Tomorrow tough to justify.

I found this offering to be an uninspiring experience, wrought with annoyances that many modern fighters do not suffer from.
    • 68 Metascore

Glaring deficiencies, such as the redundant environments, weak camera system, and most importantly, a severe lack of challenge.

Far from being a cranium-stretching taut and suspenseful Sherlock Holmes mystery, this release falls flat in almost every dimension of its design and execution.

Because of its brevity, it doesn't come close to justifying the $15 price tag.

Fighters with minimal moves at their disposal, unbalanced characters, and an AI that can't hold up its end of the bargain conspire to make Kakuto Chojin feel like an empty shell.
    • 50 Metascore
    • 40 Critic Score
The gameplay can't hold a match to even the most basic competition, since the distinct lack of modes, oversimplified approach and lackluster execution combine to make a release that's the exact opposite of what a party title needs to be.

Fans of the series deserve the same content for far less money in the form of a true expansion pack, preferably one that actually adds fresh content beyond new scenarios.
