This is one of those rare games where you have the feeling of playing something not seen or done before. Short, with a steep learning curve and a sometimes frustratingly high difficulty not everything is perfect, though.

Is Wild Run the magic ingredient that crowns The Crew the king of arcade racing? No, this still belongs to Forza Horizon 2 or DriveClub. But it adds not only fully updated visuals but a sense of purpose to the whole online factor that seemed overpowering in the original.

When it comes to generating pure Star Wars atmosphere this is a dream come true. But even that can’t hide the fact that in the end the content is fun but at this stage very limited.

This surely is a pre-release version with content to be added? It isn’t? But why? No tourneys? No career in any form? No elaborate online options? This is essentially gorgeous and easily accessible arcade tennis that has serious content issues.

Welcome to the Weird West. The turn based tactics inspired by XCOM work surprisingly well with the mysterious story that is filled with decisions and consequences.

The foundation with its accurate statistics and believable correlations is as rock solid and convincing as always and on top of that you’ll get the best match presentation in the series’ history – which doesn’t mean that much if you consider that only a few years ago they still used oversized dots. Nonetheless this is the stuff that soccer fans’ dreams are made of. Who would have thought that animated spreadsheets could invoke more emotion than the latest FIFA or PES iterations?

Two years ago Deadpool’s romp was the funniest videogame in years. And in this aspect it still delivers countless sophisticated and countless more brainless jokes. Unfortunately the sometimes very old-fashioned mechanics weren’t polished.

A lot of untapped potential remains, even though it starts as a fascinating mix of platforming and word puzzler with well conceived integration of the Wii U gamepad.

This is a worthy end to the StarCraft 2 trilogy and a prime example how to direct a captivating singleplayer campaign – an artform almost forgotten.

Yes, it is short. And it takes the by now well-known Telltale stencil and imposes it on our most favorite building block game. But the result is what the once announced “Adventure mode” in Minecraft promised: a big fantasy adventure with humor, suspense and real heroes.

With its impressive ballistic action (albeit on a 2D plane) and the constant search for better equipment this mixture of games like Drox Operative, VoidExpanse, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag and of course Elite: Dangerous is a pleasant surprise in the overgrowing indie market.

Rise of the Tomb Raider still clings a little too tightly to certain elements of its predecessor and has problems with enemy AI. Nonetheless with the renewed focus on actual tomb raiding and exploration Lara slowly returns to her older grand self.

Wow. This can't be happening - Yuji Naka at his worst. Even the weaker Sonic games feel solid compared to this. Visually not appealing - no, let me rephrase that: plain ugly and "blessed" with fidgety controls, I see no reason why anybody would spend time with this.

The art design is okay, but mechanics and level-design are as generic as can be, while the difficulty level challenges no one but absolute video game beginners.

Pulse takes a distinctively different approach to blindness than Beyond Eyes. And while I welcome the gaming aspects that give you a sense of danger the audiovisual concept is hardly more than a tech-demo – a very arduous one, which makes the short playtime even sweeter.

While Overlocked was bug-ridden, this is a convincing port of Devil Survivor 2 with added bonus content. Fans of tactical role-playing games can look forward to a challenging addition to their library.

While the story marks an interesting step in a new direction for the shooter series, the mechanics stay very conservative. With the added gadgets you get more variety, but the level design doesn’t demand these mechanics too often. And while the multiplayer is as solid as always and content-rich I miss fresh and creative modes.

Fallout 4 has its flaws, such as weak AI, a few annoying bugs, stiff facial animations and the occasional control problem. But it more than makes up for them with a beautiful post-apocalyptic world filled with well-constructed quests, interesting characters and mesmerizing locations. Fallout 4 tells loads of big and small bizarre, tragic and touching stories that stay in your memory and create a maelstrom dragging you in deeper and deeper.

This reboot feels like a slick sports car with loads of custom tuning, but with a big engine failure and a story that is nothing but embarrassing. The driving feels okay most of the time but overall the fascination fades faster than a nitro boost.

Anno 2205 is a needed step forward for the series. Even though it can’t match up to the classic Anno 1404 the courage to implement some significant changes to a proven formula is noteworthy.
