Pokemon by a different name; Micromon very nearly is that.

That's Abyss: The Wraiths of Eden's main strength: its ability to keep the player interested with such choice. It's a fine example of what works so well for the genre, even if it doesn't quite revolutionize.

This sense of imagination that flourishes throughout Forever Lost: Episode 1 ensures that it's a fascinating title. Its puzzles have been carefully designed so that they might always be one step away from frustrating, but they sidestep it just about, instead teasing the brain appropriately. Forever Lost: Episode 1 might not be the longest of titles but it leaves me keen to see what happens next.

Its story isn't quite as gripping as others, but Fighting Fantasy: Bloodbones has some great tricks up its sleeves.

Fields of Battle is paintball for the most hardcore of iOS gamers. Intense gameplay, intuitive controls, and extensive content are what make this game great.

The game does have tons of content, varying gameplay, and some interesting level design. It's not wholly original, but it's a fun, lengthy trip.

Subsurface Circular is a game that does so much with so little. It’s got an extremely stripped down set of mechanics, characters, and environments, yet it uses them tell a surprisingly deep and nuanced story in a pretty short amount of time. It’s hard to ask for more than that, and if you did, it might tarnishSubsurface Circularwhat is an extremely efficient and polished experience.

There is something habit forming about Bee Leader. I'm not sure if it's the aesthetic or the gameplay that's doing it, but something keeps me playing until my fingers are sore. It's not quite a must-have, but definitely a great choice for a casual gamer's collection.

Electric Tentacle might not have that ridiculously addictive quality that something like Tiny Wings might still retain, it needs a few more persistent challenges to accomplish that, but what is there adds something original to the genre. Something that we could all do with occasionally.

It's charming throughout and very easy to get into, while not sacrificing depth too much. Here's hoping for an update or two offering Game Center support, new items and other delights.

Having to jump through hoops to reset the tilt controls is a bit of a pain, but aside from that Zombie Fish Tank does a fantastic job of bringing an old genre back from the dead. The core mechanics are plenty of fun in their own right, and there’s plenty of bonus content and additional levels to keep players occupied.

Tiny Plane is simple in premise, but less so in execution, making it an ideal choice for endless fans looking for a ramped up challenge, and for those who prefer that their games build replay value based not on tricks, but rather on a compulsion to beat the machine.

cleverer than most of what's on TV and at its current price of $1.99 costs the same as a one-episode rental. The comic value along with great arrangements and solid gameplay makes this a worthy investment.

Isle of Tune HD's hook is ingenious and its creative potential is immense. Even if the iPad isn't necessarily the best way to play it, if that's all someone has this is definitely worth checking out. It's basically GarageBand by way of Will Wright.
